If you ask me I wouldn't rank cities by number of skyscrapers, some of the best city's in the world hardly have that much skyscrapers.. Look at Paris,London,L.A,.. To me a beautiful city is one with good infrastructure, well maintained parks, flowers and trees between streets, recreational activities, In Africa I will add designated markets for traders or hawkers.

Capetown may have less skyscrapers than Durban,Johannesburg and Cairo but its still the best and the most beautiful city in Africa.

In Kenya a town like eldoret has more tall structures than Nakuru, but Nakuru is still better than Eldoret.

But those cities you listed have more skyscrapers and highrise than one can imagine.

There is difference between beauty and development.

Joburg is far more developed than Cape Town but Cape Town is beautiful than it because of its the natural environment. Beach and a mountain placed together, that is mind blowing.

When it comes to beauty, Abuja is not lacking behind. It is the newest Capital in Africa. Well planned with world class infrastructures, beautiful gardens (more than 20), well maintained parks (more than 30), trees between Street( pedestrian walk every where with trees), recreation center ( plenty), markets ( malls 10 and still counting), hawkers are not allowed in Abuja, it is illegal. etc

I don't think Mombasa will beat Abuja when it comes to world infrastructures and beauty.

It's a fallacy to compare Nigeria with Kenya. Nigeria has over 10 cities with population exceeding 1million and over 20 additional cities with population exceeding 500k. There are some things you just cannot compare like New York vs Port Harcourt.

You guys are really loosing focus, the main topic was on the social-economy of Kenya and what the Kenyan government is doing different that the Nigeria goverment has failed to do. The issue of skyscrapers does not impact directly to the common citizens since they are private entities. I would rather you show me pictures of government funded and built up hospitals, schools and major impacting amenities that benefit the average Nigerian.

Nigerians 10 cities with 70% poor population, dilapidated medical sector, crippled electricity supply, disoriented education system, no running water, missing hygiene and lack of basic infrastructure. 23,000 dollar millionaires with the biggest GDP in Africa but only benefiting a few!!!!! Nothing to be proud of there.

Which one of these actually benefits the local Nigerian populace? Nigerian contributors to this forum have only been showcasing the affluent areas where the few minority rich leave but ignoring the actual topic..... The Kenyans have tried to show you the different projects initiated by the government to revolutionize the local Kenyan citizen at the grassroots. But the Nigerians have turned it into a dick measuring contest where instead of comparing which public hospital is the biggest Nigerians are busy showing us how the few millionaires are the beneficiaries are benefactors of their oil wealth.

And u guys are lacking insight and just been myopic, every development in a country is directly or indirectly linked to the government,if there are no political stability, preferentail treatment and policy,or infrastructure which are basically determine by the government, then investors will hesitate to invest. And about those amenities the most remote villages in nigeria has all of that, and it choleric to be showcasing basic amenities in 21st century.

Keep saying it...as far as know, abuja is not meant for the rich alone while Lagos is meant for the whole category you could ever think about in Nigeria...while port Harcourt is meant for all also...

You saying eko Atlantic is meant for the rich is a poo...it will provide over 150000 jobs...and 250000 residents...so all those are also rich...even if they are,the Lagos state energy state is taking care of that as it's also located in Atlantic city it's main goal is to provide a luxury life for the average people....mainland people

You said you have been posting pictures of yall hometown.. excluding Nakuru, eldoret, mombasa and Nairobi....pls tell me the essence of the rest other than you posting picture of forest reserves...we all know nature is beautiful so posting those pictures doesn't translate into anything...I live in osun and going to the shrine I can post lotta beautiful pictures or the Erin ijessha shrine buh all those are nature doing not man made...post pictures of man made doing...Biko...not some girrafe or hippo...

The truth is, those projects were initiated by the government and it will provide jobs and attract foreigners to invest in Nigeria.

Even after the apartments are occupied, they need to by furnitures made by Nigerians, employ workers, etc I can go on and on.

There is difference between Highrise and Skyscraper.

Highrise is determined by a building with at 12 stories while a skyscraper is determined by a the height with must be at least 100 meters.

If we go by that standard Lagos has more than 100 highrise and I think it is more than Nairobi.

To the crux, that nigerians immensely benefits from this projects cannot be overstated,e.g the egbim power plant provides job to citizens, and supplies its power to the national grid even as citizens utilize the power supply, the lagos blue line when operational would ease transportation n interconnectivity b\w mainland n island, creating jobs etc,the mambila project is on course, same goes for niger dock on snake island, the seaports, aiport expansions, etc many schools were built by the past govt including primary, sec, uni, the railways were resuscitated, new ones underway,we r not there yet,but it is undeniable, that we are making progress.
