The court of appeal has upheld the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of Ahmed Makarfi, describing the faction led by Ali Modu Sheriff as illegal.

In a judgement on Wednesday, the panel of judges led by Ibrahim Saulawa, set aside the ruling of Okon Abang, a judge of the federal high court Abuja, who declared Makarfi’s faction as “illegal”.

In a ruling on June 29, Abang ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to recognise any candidate from the Markafi faction.

But the panel held that Abang’s ruling was “displaced, and most troubling”.

“It is a gross abuse of section 36 (1) of the constitution, particularly the right to fair hearing,” Saulawa held.

when PDP wins it is victory for democracy, when APC wins it is decree 44. cursed nation, cursed homo sapiens.

upon mimiko spending the tax payer money on court cases he will still lose that poll with his puppet. He thinks he is smarter. Not knowing Apc av gone ahead of his and his party. It can't be business as usual again. He will lose d election with huge votes margin. People are not moved by PDP tactics again. People are move by what u have for them. It is the masses that will determine the outcome of the poll. Jegede will still regret his action. People can never be settled with ondo central district again. Check well mimiko is from ondo central and still want to impose his puppet jegede who came from ondo central too to be governor. This can never happen. The voice of the people is the voice of God.
