my point too, a normal police issue would have done more damage at close range. the police would require information to track this people down if indeed they are criminal, your timely voluntary information could save some one else.

'blos' no vex go do the volunteer on behalf of the Nairaland complainant! since it seems u r better informed than the complainant!

go be the good Samaritan to the police and be the savior of the world! cheesy cheesy grin grin

I actually thought of it too.

Looks more like cartridge gun

Common sense will tell whoever that those injuries are from shattered glass pallets. The single hole exit is visible on the guy's rear passenger door in his original post. And there was also a single bullet hole on his driver sit near the headrest.

The police is a big shame if this is all they could come up with.

i repeat in Nigeria POLICE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. meanwhile the wounds looks like it came from the shattered window not pellets anything.

I have nothing but love and respect for the Nigerian Police, but this is dumb even for their standard.

This guy was wounded by glass splinters from the window of the driver's door as a result of the shot. That doesn't mean he wasn't shot at. The bullet struck the window (glass) went through the driver's seat and out through the back passenger's door. He only wasn't struck because he leaned towards the steering wheels in the nick of time. From the pictures I can confidently tell he was shot at with a high velocity rifle most likely an AK47.
I urge the Nigerian Police Force to investigate this issue and deal appropriately with the rogue officer.

As for the victim, move on. I wasn't there but I believe if you were polite he would not shoot at you because Nigerians have this tendency to be abusive, impolite and disrectful to the police. once again I was not there but I from experience am aware how we treat police men in this country.

And as for my fellow Nigerians following this development and insulting the Nigerian Police
I just have to let you know that there would be no Nigeria without the Nigerian Police. They are doing a good job holding this volatile country together, so they deserve our love support and respect believe me. You don't have to wait till they save your life or come to ur aid before you realize their importance. They are underpaid and under armed yet they stay up all night to serve while we sleep soundly in our bed.

I am 32yrs old and all my life I have never had a bad encounter with the police even though I have been involved in police cases.

I love and appreciate them becos I know what it is to be a police man in a corrupt country like Nigeria. So I urge you all to respect them too... Remember that saying about the man with the gun.
So in essence sir, being impolite to a police is a capital offence and that makes the officer judge, jury and executioner abi...issokay. The sooner we withdraw all weapons from these police men and issue them with batons or at most guns with rubber bullets the better for us.

I could agree with u, but for the police to ignore the bullet holes and the shattered glasses, and den conclude that it was a pellet gun wounds without seeing the injured man or carrying out any form of investigation b4 coming public makes them the most incompetent sets of organisation. If they had said this in private, it might be over looked, but on a matter that is already gaining momentum from the the public and social media in such manner and effrontery even without carrying out any for of investigation explains it all.

They are a disgrace to messing themselves up like that in public. To think that they all thought about this, debated on it b4 even making the publication I s sickening.

Before you start to question what the police said, do you know what is pellet gun?. I quickly went to google to find out what pellet gun is since I do not know about it. From the little research I did, I think the police might be right.

He may be arrested if he responded to their invitation. They might even call him a cultist trying to drag an officers gun and the process a bullet was fired.

since the case is on Nairaland now, the guy who was allegedly shot should take advantage of the limelight put on the case by nairaland which has more than 1 million users to prove his case and seek justice. Remember that we are in the era of change and 'change begins with me and you'

Are you trying to get the guy arrested? You know what will happen if he steps into the station. Remember bail is "free"

Typical of Nigerian Police force. A police PRO that cannot distinguish btw pellets wounds and sharpnel wounds originating from shattered glass. Of all three pictures posted you chose only one but ignored the other two that had single shot holes on the chair and the one that exited from the back door(single gun shot exit hole) or have pellets now started having single exit holes? this is just appaling!

what i'm saying is that let us try to verify the truth and set the record straight. Social media is a powerful revolutionary tool in this age. If the police agrees to handle the case in the most transparent and visible manner out of concerns for the acuser's safety, it will be a chance for the acuser to have the issue of attack on his life by a police officer proven and properly handled also a chance for the Nigerian police to rid it'self of the bad reputation it is alledged to have.
i see an oppurtunity for both parties to get what they deserve. i know that no Nigerian deserves to be shot at as described by the acuser and the Nigerian police deserves to inspire confidence and respect in every law abiding nigerian always.

Quick to debunk but lack wisdom to investigate nd come out with concrete info.

The guy who was attacked is readily available to provide any info requested to have aid their investigation instead, they ignore that but swiftly debunk the claim.
What police should have done is invite the guy, goto the scene and ask questions. Then run a forensic vestigation on the car and the guy. Then feed the world if the guy is lying or one of their own is actually not in his usual sense.or should we then said NPf is too weak to checkmate fake police officers

My bro...if police invite the guy...the guy no go go for fear of detention...you know na.

Dear Nigerian Police, people here don't seem to trust you. They seem to think you produce and protect triger happy operatives all the time. I know you are not perfect but you try your best. Please show us with your actions in your next response to this case that civilians are safe around you. Or remain silent and seem like a muderous bully. #the truth has a voice; let it be yours
