Good afternoon bumping mamas. Hope we are all doing fine. I'm new here (although I posted about my preg news a few days ago). I asked our sabi mamas what kind of prenatals I should be taking but nobody answered me oo . Anyways I sha went and bought Pregnacare Original and Folic acid with Vit B12. I hope I am on the right track? If there are any other vitamins to add, please let me know. Its not that I'm self medicating o. I only found out that I was pregnant this past Saturday so I have been making inquiries about antenatal registration but I just want to be proactive pending when I will register which will be by this weekend by God's grace. I have a few questions to ask and pls, able mamas don't pass by without answers o

a. How do I officially register on NL preggy thread?

b. I got married on 29th Oct. My last period was on 22nd and ovu was 5th of Nov. Found out I was preggy on 19th. However, I read online that the pregnancy will be counted from the first day of my last period. By this calculation, I should be almost 5weeks now. Ejo, is it true? I feel its funny considering that I never even stay husband house reach 5weeks.

c. The other issue that has been bothering me is this. From 5th of Nov, I had this terrible cold and catarrh and I took Actifed tablets twice daily for 4days. On 11th of Nov, I had very terrible waist pain that I couldn't stand up. It was so bad that I feared I was going to get paralyzed and my village people that did not want me to get married had finally caught up with me . Kai, I had no idea it was implantation pain. On Sunday the 13th, hubby got Diclofenac for me and I took two tablets. By evening of that Sunday, I was having terrible heartburns (I have ulcer) so I thought it was caused by the Diclofenac I took. By Monday 14th, I bought Omeperazole and took one tablet. I did not take the Diclofenac again. I also only took the Omeperazole tablet once. By Saturday 19th, I did a strip and blood test which confirmed me preggy. Now my fear is if all these drugs I took will not affect my babies ( im praying for twins!) In any way.

d. Please who can recommend a good hospital for antenatal for me in Ago Palace Way? I dont want Festac cos I feel its far and I dont want to stress myself. I have gone to Outreach to make inquiries but do let me know if there are other good ones besides Outreach. I want to register this weekend.

e. Lastly, Please how do I reply someone's comment on this thread?

You are on point with your pregnacare and folio acid, they are basic supplements needed in pregnancy. As time goes on u could ask your doctor about taking calcium and extra iron if PCV is below normal, but if you eat well and balanced you won't need extra.
Yes, true but funny enough your pregnancy is counted from the 1st day of your last period.
Don't panic about the medications you took in that earliest stage as the pregnancy had not even formed by then.
If you have any doubts, see a doctor and ask.

If you had checked your mentions (top of your phones screen) you will see that I replied your last questions.

Pregnacare is good on its own no need for the extra folic acid you got cos the RDA is already in the Pregnacare.


To register on this thread well all you have to do is announce your pregnancy and identify with your team mates( those who will deliver same month as you).


When you conceived is exactly not know hence the count back to your last menstrual period is adopted.
So by the time you miss your period you are already one month pregnant.

The drugs diclofenac and omeprazole are safe in first trimester more so the quantities you took are quite minute.


Sameria hospital I've heard is good you can check them out and make your conclusion.
