I DEDICATE THIS FTC TO EVERY EMPLOYER WHO WAS ONCE AN EMPLOYEE AND EVERY EMPLOYEE WHO HOPES TO BECOME AN EMPLOYER.

It's the Nigeria factor... Employees do also abuse their bosses directly and indirectly.

Some Employees are very rude to Clients and customers, and most times you will be shocked to see that the boss of such a rude employee is a very humble person.

And then some bosses really have a bad Attitude and are very abusive and exploitative.

Funny Enough, most of these employees who cry foul,WOULD DO THE SAME THING if they were in that position of a boss...
And most of those Abusive bosses went through the same Abuse when they were employees.

MY ADVICE TO BOTH EMPOWERS AND EMPLOYEES:

MR.EMPLOYER, TREAT YOUR EMPLOYEE LIKE YOUR FIRST AND ONLY CUSTOMER...

MR. EMPLOYEE, HANDLE YOUR EMPLOYERS BUSINESS LIKE YOUR OWN...

IF THIS POST DOESN'T GO DOWN WELL WITH YOU.. SIMPLY SACK YOUR BOSS AND MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS BECAUSE IT REQUIRES NO CAPITAL.

Very smart of you to realise that. The problem is in the society. Nigerians are a backward people. Only when the society becomes more enlightened and refined will things change. I've said it all over the place: Nigerians are victims of the very values they all subscribe to. And by the way, keep "borning" more and more children so that supply of "slaves" would continue even more to outstrip demand. Nigeria is indeed a joke!

IN Nigeria it's usually culture and religion over common sense

You will see a man of over 37 no job yet he will marry because the society says so.

After getting married he will be the one getting his wife pregnant every month till HE has 8 children because HE wants his mother to see his grand kids before she dies and because the bible says it's not good for a man to be alone without proper understanding of his situation and circumstances
It's those same children HE cannot cater for that he will be distributing around to go and live with aunties and uncles

If you havent found youself in that situation you wouldnt know how horrible it is..
Am currently going through such heartbreaking situation...that list isnt complete sef add,"suspension and deduction of salary",
At my place of work am currently on suspension for no just good cause,of which the days will be deducted from the money he feels he is doing me a favour with,
I have worked in this place for almost 3yrs now,hv been suspended for up to 5times n I will be asked to report back with a letter of re-engagement,...I was sick last month,i got a msg from the offc take the week n treat yourself n resume nextweek...I fink say na better talk...only for me to see that the week was deducted from my end of month pay..my ppl 6k+...
The current suspension I dont even know when it will end sef, since last 2weeks...its seriously not fair, they humilate n frustrate you, because they pay you stipends,i hope not to do such by Gods grace..i will soon be an employer..amen

Employees being abused by their Employers like the writer rightly stated is a norm in our country. Like I was thought, I don't go discussing problems when I have highlighted one or better say discovered one. I look for solutions, I dwell on solutions inorder to remedy the situation.

If your boss abuses you, kindly give yourself a time frame in that office. Make budgets, look for other alternatives. Don't just sit there and manage. Employers have also discovered how complacent employees can be even when they are abused hence they take advantage of that.

When you are abused, politely speak up to avert it's recurrence in the future. If you gulp it, definitely it will come again and again and in different forms and shapes. You are not a slave in that office, you have an option.

Even if you think your whole family depend on you, what if you are fired? Do the right thing by saving yourself. You have an option, use it wisely.

Thanks
I get your point. The issue is whenever you see traces of being abused and OR your services ARE being exploited and you're not given the salary and respect you deserve it's time to start looking for plan b job OR betterstill start a buisness

The truth is I don't blame employees who treat their bosses customers badly. Now I don't support bad customer services but these employees themselves ARE unhappy frustrated feel used don't feel appreciated OR respected hence they take out their frustrations and pain ON their bosses customers

For example you're working in a company that your boss yells at you every time, your salary is barely enough to take care of your responibilities, you have no job fulfillment.you just do the job just to be able to pay your bills not that you enjoy the job why won't the clients suffer for it

Some bosses on the other hand ARE so rude.they talk down and embarass their workers in the presence of their customers. All these are why employees don't show dedication and diligence to work or treat the customers right

it's well.please I'll advise you that instead of sitting at home brooding, feeling depressed angry bitter or resentful start looking for jobs elsewhere. Start sending your cvs about. You cannot continue working in a place where you're treated like a slave and your dignity is stripped off from you.search elsewhere because you cannot continue living your life full of hate and pain

I worked somewhere that housed both d organization and their house. One day d employer's wife called a staff who happened to be her husband old school classmate to come and fetch water for her to bath, d woman refused and all f husband could say is "My wife has every right to send anybody msg". Well all the staffs resigned that month, although it was not planned but no one want to receive such insult.

Nothing to say. you said it better.
dangotesmummy:
Lol. Everything in Nigeria is a miracle
to get admission miracle
to graduate after 4 years miracle
to get employed miracle
for your employers to give you your entitlements and salary THAT YOU WORKED FOR O not dash money - miracle. You will even beg, prostrate ,lobby to collect YOUR OWN SALARY

As a matter of fact that your boss paid you your salary in Nigeria is a privilege

In Nigeria every thing has been so basterdized. Nigeriand have been so abused, trampled under, enslaved and used that they don't even know hence the aggressive behaviour on the roads when driving which is even a symptom of depression and pain living and working in a toxic environment like Nigeria.

Imagine working in a company and you're promised heaven and earth at the end of the month it's stories and excuses you get why your salary hasn't been paid

Then you get home no light. You meet a nagging wife telling you how she was better In her fathers house and how you married her to suffer her .the kids come home to tell you THE school management didn't allow them sit for exams because you haven't paid their school fees

Your landlord comes demanding for his money for house rent

Nepa Bill is there you will still pay for the light you hardly use
Lawma bill is there

You drive on the road you have to have 6 eyes.2 in front another 2 at the back and two by the sides so that mad road users don't bash your car and besides the police guys stationed on the road to ensure smooth driving on the roads are either jisting away or eating or reading news paper and could care less if your car is bashed or theres traffic congestion or an accident.so you have to be extra watchful so you dont have to pay from an irregular and unstable income to fix your car

Even commercial drivers will park on the road to pick passengers and cause more traffic and delay for others going to work because they just don't care and know police cannot do anything about it because the police don't care as long as money has changed hands
You still have to buy fuel to fuel your generator and do basic things yet YOU wonder why Nigerians are so angry frustrated and aggressive. The answer is not far from you.we live in a toxic and frustrated society
and you wonder why churches are so full every Sunday with people looking for hope miracle job husband wife children etc

Actually the church is now the last hope for Nigerians that's why fake pastors aka buisness men are maximizing that opportunity to enrich themselves

So you see all these things are a vicious cycle. We're gradually degenerating into Thomas Hobbes description of the state OF nature

What you said is true. But i have learnt to define things properly. I am talking based on experience. I have been abused and exploited but the truth is that I know for sure what I want, I still serve our customers rightly because of the law of karma. I don't know tomorrow but do you know what some of those customers I served are the ones I still call to tell them I am no longer with company About I am looking for another work.

To employers, be good to your customers, despite the fact your employee is Pharaoh, you don't know the future. To what extent can you bear or not bear, what can or can't you endure? Know what you want. Always know that you have an option.

Thank you
