Lecturers are the first reason why our university system have collapsed, they are the once that do copy and paste research or asking for bribes or demanding sex from students, imagine an ordinary graduate assistant is paid 120k per month yet his mate that works in a ministry is paid 55k, all I will say is Nigerian lecturers are greedy and lazy.

If I were the president I will just concession the administration of all universities to private hands the they will be run like private universities, the government should then give bursary allowance to indigent students to pay fees in the universities

Do private university pay lecturers anything less than 120k? Everything we do in this country is upside down. A lecturer should definitely earn better salary than a useless senator. The senators aren't doing anything meaningful. There are so many useless senators who just go to the NASS to mark attendance. Politics has turned into big time business that's why the useless politicians are ready to kill anybody to get power.

If lecturers can give students projects before giving them their reward (certificate) , F.G too should give our universities projects before they can collect their reward too (allowance). What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

We have so many problems in Nigeria. From Masters to full Prof, all should be involved in these projects;

All the agric departments should end food importation in Nigeria.

Let all the engineering departments create various alternative tech products ( even if it is not up to China standards for now ) to create more jobs and
to reduce dependence on foreign tech products.

Let all the arts and communication science departments put the name Nigeria (brand development) on a global view on a positive note
to attract investors and tourists into Nigeria.

Let all the education departments create an easy to understand video courseware for all tertiary courses in Nigeria. Handouts and lecture method of teaching should give way for well packaged learning kits (video and summary note) and discussion teaching method.

Everybody including Buhari, Governors and Legislators are getting their allowances even before the month ends. Why cant ASUU get their own allowance that is even arrears? Abi ASUU no join as citizens of the country?

But ASUU isn't the only body entitled to allowance. Don't forget other unions will agitate for their should this demand be meant. But in any case, the government should check their spendings because this is the reason for all this agitations

I wonder if they even read the article before commenting or is it they read but can't comprehend. Was this allowance owed by the present administration only? In every profession there are bad egg yes there are senators that just go to mark attendance same way there are lecturers that indulge in plagiarism, bribery and sex scandals. It is very unfortunate that you underrate the importance of law makers. In a country, there policies and law touches every sectors in the country, and truly the difference between military and civilian government is the presence of the legislature, because even in military government there is executive and judiciary but not legislators, analogically you can say the presense of legislature is the presence of democracy, and I think they need to be respected by all including lecturers.
