jotey: That's not always the way the world works. It's not advisable to cut your nose to spite your face. For instance, it's ridiculous to think that Nedum would score an own goal if and when we play England. Has nobody thought that Nedum could be exceptionally determined against England to show them that they were wrong to ignore him? Revenge does not make the world go round. 2 Likes |

terzurum5: I have given up on this player already. I mean something is wrong somewhere. Judging from his outstanding play in the U17, he should be bossing our midfield and wings now in the super eagles. Perhaps he just isn't good enough. |

TheSuperNerd: Thanks for the inspirational, motivational and comforting post. Concerning Nacho and Jesus, I agree with Pep, Nacho has to keep doing what he does in training. Fighting to prove to Guardiola that he can put his confidence in him. Gabriel Jesus is good and both of them will make the team stronger. More will come in. Maybe Hazard Jnr, Bailey or even Suarez. Nacho has to believe he can become as good as the likes of Messi, Neymar and Suarez. Keep fighting and turning himself into a machine. He can become another player from another planet. At that point, he will become undroppable. 1 Like |

Generals03: If he was at Tottenham he would have found one of the most friendly, cosmopolitan and likeable bunch of lads to get on with. I understand that it can be emotionally tough for a teenager of 18 come to a totally different environment and try to excel. But that would be more reflective of our sometimes over pampered kids in the UK not our teenagers from Nigeria. The last time I was there the very likeable Ehiogu was the u18s coach he is now in charge of the U23's, its a great environment for a black kid. Now if he was allowed to go it simply means he didn't cut it. Josh Onuma is there and in the same age bracket and he is playing for the first team. |

tbaba1234:The interview I quoted was from an earlier date, I belive he was he was still on loan from Man city when he felt he stood a chance with the English national team. Onuoha rejected our invite twice. Once in 2007 when Berti Vogts invited him and Toto Tamus I think, then in 2010 by Lars Lagerback when his mom plainly said he wasn't interested in representing Nigeria.
Jordan Ibe, I would accept if he retreats his earlier stance. He's only a teenager (just 20)... He could be forgiven, it took him under a year after Sunday Olishe spoke to him to re-switch his allegiance. But for Nedum, he rejected us twice and his family went out of their way to ensure he doesn't feature at the 2010 world cup for us. That should tell you how much disdain he really feels about playing for the Eagles. In football, commitment to the course is everything, that is why you see players belt out their national anthem before games. Who says Nedum cannot deliberately score an OG if we face Ingurland? 3 Likes |

joseph1013: I think due to English not Guardiola's first language, there could be a kind of miscommunication. When he talked of others deserving to play, he is talking of the likes of Maffeo, Angelino and Aleix Garcia. These are also brilliant young players but they are yet to get enough games. Iheanacho played more games than them this season. |

komekn: Yahaya was not let go because he did not 'cut it'. It was due to difficulties in securing work permits. He was first loaned to Portimonense to help him be eligible for a work permit. Porto paid 650,000 pounds to get him from spurs. That's big money for an unproven African youngster. Spurs accepted the deal. 4 Likes |

well one reason i think he might have found it difficult to adapt at spurs is the language. he is a northern boy who speaks hausa with barely passable english so that would have made it hard for him to bond with the other lads. to be fair to tottenham i read they got a hausa speaking teacher to tutor him in english but it seems it didn't quite work out. komekn: |

tbaba1234: My friend smell the gravy, believe you me, if the club truly believes that you are worth it , there are many ways around work permit restrictions legally speaking. Tottenham did not feel he was worth the investment coupled with fact he is surrounded by clear bona fide U18 player and even younger, who probably gave him Yahaya clear cut competition and put his quality to question. Meanwhile I am not saying he is not good just not what Tottenham want at this time. |

komekn: Porto will not be putting out that kind of money for a talent if they did not think he was worth it. Spurs are by no means better than Porto in terms of quality or pedigree. For Yahaya to be eligible for a work permit, he has to play outside England for at least 3 years. For Spurs, the option was loan him for 3 years, by which time he will be 21, then get him back. Or get what you can for him now. And Yahaya is a 'bona fide' under 18 by the way. 3 Likes |

Then you have the calculating, scheming, low down, predators and totally unscrupulous well you know types. That will stop at nothing and do absolutely anything to get in to bed with them. Tbaba1234 curious how do you know Yahaya is a bona-fide 18 year old I reiterate if Tottenham really like him and felt he was the real deal. They will not sell him. Porto just like Sporting and Benfica operate thier youth policy as business primarily. Not so much Braga and Guimarense who are not as cut throat. You need to be very weary of thier agents and clubs that love the TPI deals outlawed in the UK but rife in Portugal. They are not overly concerned about unofficial or unproven age discrepancies. It's a cattle market Portuguese football to me, in my personal limited dealings with them. |

But remember Iwobi s still a rookie when t comes to professional football likewise is also young and may not be able to handle everything that comes with stardom-and this is where he needs parental guide which might come from his Biological parents, uncle(who for once, was also a football pro n understands more). Miss Safari might be right-u never can say@least t's coming from a lady. But Iwobi needs to make sacrifice just like everyother human being who aspire to reach d very top- and women de can b something else. komekn: How do you know, he isn't? Yahaya passed through MRI tests like the rest of his mates (throughout the U17 CAF qualifiers, the cAF tournament and the FIFA world cup) and by scientific standards is within the age range. Unless, you are somehow related to him, you can not make any express statement that he is not 'bonafide'. MRI are 99% accurate under the age of 17... Also, Porto will not spend that much if they are not optimistic about making profits in the near future. Yahaya was purchased after his loan performances in Portimonense in the Portuguese second division. Sometimes, it is just about what the club think is best. Young players are gambles. Take the risk of loaning a player for three years and he does not turn out to be top class or take a good offer now for the player. Ejaria was let go by Arsenal but he is making waves at Liverpool. Sheyi Ojo was let go by Chelsea but he is on the rise at liverpool. Young players are risks but a player who you have to loan for 3 years is an even greater risk. Arsenal bought Wellington Silva in 2010, He only got the necessary work permit in 2014 after several loans. Yet he left for almost nothing to Fluminese in 2016... Now he is shining in Brazil... He is just 23 and will probably return to Europe. Perhaps they could have gotten more for him if they sold him earlier. Note: I fail to see the relationship of TPI in this conversation 1 Like |

komekn:can't quit understand your arguments,if Spurs thought he is not good enough, who cares, does it change the fact that Yahaya is a super talent,a potential world class? no. Ask Man U what they thought about Pogba initially. His height is one of his disadvantages, I'm not even expecting Yahaya to break into SE in 3yrs from now,not till post Mikel and V. Moses era. He belongs to the generation that would led by Nwakali. 1 Like |

I watched Pogba when he was U18 he was clearly the best. However, the gate keepers (youth coaches) felt he was in the way of thier boy Cleverly. By the way Cleverly Dad was a coach at United, and Cleverly put ahead of Pogba, not surprisingly Pogba was taken out after adverse reports given to Ferge amongst other issues. MRI scans are indicative within a limited set of parameters they are not absolutes. The bone mass density of a teenager who has a high protein diet, add to that involved in sports using synthetic protein shakes, etc. will have a far more developed bone mass density. I can you assure the bone mass density of boys here will be considerably more developed than our boys and so fusion will occur much earlier . So using average parameters as the unit of measurement (Ignoring the inherent differences that occur by race) Will find most boys in Nigeria will have a lower bone mass density and therefore a lower rate of fusion. By implication this means that a boy of 17 -22 could easily be classed as 17. I do recall being in Nigeria when I was much younger a cousin came to stay with us from the village who was 21, at that age he actually grew taller, a reflection of Malnutrition. |
