Because when you get a job, your monthly payment/income is guaranteed. And as the years passed you get promoted with higher pay and pension plan. But starting a business one can hardly know the outcome, today you may have customers to patronize your goods, tomorrow might not be thsame. The income from business is not stable , especially in this dumb government Era most businesses are closing up with the owners have nothing to fall back to. starting a Business can be great if successful. But as far as Nigeria is concern having a job today is the sure thing. Because you have 100% assurance customer or without customer your monthly payment is guaranteed. |

realbitez:its d long run dat counts,u want to start a business with nothing else to fall back on when d chips are down. Graduates look for jobs within a few months and then feel they can venture into business immediately.when d money rolls in for a few months, they become happy and feel they have arrived.when d business starts to nose dive, they have nothing else to fall back on my point is-look for a job first, and then u can venture into business as a side attraction 1 Like |

The get-a-job mentality is real. But I'm glad this recession is gradually changing all that. So many business owners will be springing up from so many different corners of this country. Say Amen. |

SnowJay92:You can loose your job of course, but there is usually a severance pay that can help you gather yourself and start something else. But in business who's going to pay you when it fails? |

KealDrogo: Baba say severance pay, it's either you don't live in Nigeria or you work for the government. Do you know how banks sack people down here? You just get to work in the morning and find out that your log in ID is no longer working, that's it, sacked. Am not saying one should not go for paid employment, after all we're all made for different purposes and have different destinies. But it's very wrong for you to say that employment is better than having your own business, that's not true. |

SnowJay92:My Opinion nothing wrong with my Opinion . Those bankers you talking ain't got job, they are contract staff. I'm talking about full time job here please. You either agree or disagree in this present Nigeria having a full time job is more rewarding compared to starting a business with so much uncertainty in this recession. Hence people rejoice with you when you get a job (full time job) unlike starting a biz. |
