Mujtahida:
A lot has been said on this thread about Iheanacho being or not being a CF and arguments and counter arguments have been exchanged and all of this is with a view to finding that icing striker on the delicious cake baking now for Nigerian football. However I will not join issues on that point cos my eyes are fixed elsewhere and time, thank goodness is ticking fast to bring my desires to reality for Osimhen. So Let it be said now, loud and clear that Victor Osimhen is the undisputed natural heir to the central forward throne of the Super Eagles. Supernerd has often reiterated this. Osimhen has 'it' -if you know what 'it' means-he's has great physical stature, he's quick, strong in the air, good with both feet, dribbles, has great positional awareness, he's gifted with the killer instinct and composure of a deadly goal poacher and more importantly he appears to me to have the deep self knowledge of being a striker. Some say he is too young and that he lacks experience. For other players not of the ilk of Osimhen I can admit of such objections but if you'd apply such criteria to this boy I'd say bullocks to that! I remember vividly seeing a wonder kid stripling called Eto'o scoring goals with the aplomb of a goal king aficionado at the African cup of Nations in 2000. He was very, very young, a teen. Eto'o went on from there in leaps and bounds to establish himself as a nightmare for defenders and goalkeepers in the best teams and leagues in the world - Spain, Italy. I look at Osimhen and something happy clicks in my guts. I repeat he has that certain indefinable and unnameable '' something' that 'it that 'all great strikers have. That boy is not one of many who failed to live out their potential. This our Osimhen carries greatness inside him. And therefore I roll out the royal red carpet, I sound the trumpets heralding the King as we cry 'All Hail the King'!

Beautifully written. Well, we will wait till January when he makes his debut and wish all goes well, insha Allah.

I agree that teams we have produced since 2013 have been the youngest U17's in the context of Nigeria we have produced.

However, the diction of appropriate may be aspirational. As a result scientific possibility still remains, a boy of 22 from an impoverished malnourished background will have the possibility of being classed as 17 with an MRI scan.

i honestly doubt if you know how this MRI works, because if you did, you'd understand that it's even easier for the scan to grade a 17 year old as an overaged player than for it to accept an 18 year old, once you are 6 months older than 18, it becomes close to impossible

Nigeria’s Super Eagles Rise 10 Places In This Month’s FIFA Rankings.

world football’s governing body FIFA on Thursday released its world rankings of national football teams. The list, among other things, shows a marked improvement in the placement of Nigeria’s senior football team, the Super Eagles- it puts them in 50th place, 10 higher than the 60th place they managed in the previous month.
The leap recorded by the Super Eagles reflects a recent positive run in their world cup qualifying campaign, and particularly their defeat of the highly rated Algerians. Nigeria now ranks 7th on the African continent, a position it shares with Burkina Faso, which also occupies the 50 position in the global rankings. Senegal leads the way in Africa, followed closely by Cote d’Ivore and Tunisia; the two teams jointly occupy 2nd place in Africa.

I've been let down by Nigerian kids a lot, so I figure my views on what a child with Nigerian parents should be like are truly unrealistic undecided

Wolfsburg Wonderkid Osimhen Undergoes
Surgery, Doubt For Super Eagles Friendly Games

Nigeria youth international Victor Osimhen is a
huge doubt for the Super Eagles in their friendly
games, after undergoing surgery on a meniscus
tear suffered in training with Wolfsburg.

The highly rated forward who finished as top
scorer at the U-17 World Cup in Chile last year,
was operated upon last week according to
authoritative German sports news outfit Kicker.

A time frame for his return wasn’t stated but
checks by Owngoalnigeria.com on issues to do
with injuries related to meniscus usually takes
between 3-4 months to be fixed up.

However if a meniscetomy is done on the patient,
which is usually the case for less severe cases, the
patient is expected to be out for 3-4 weeks.

Judging by the above Osimhen could miss the
Super Eagles friendly games scheduled for
January and March next year.

Already he has trained with the senior national
team of Nigeria, and he impressed coach Gernot
Rohr in training ahead of the dead rubber AFCON
2017 tie against Tanzania although he didn’t get
to play in the game.

Osimhen is not yet eligible to play for the German
side until January next year when he clocks 18 (on december 29),
but this current setback is expected to delay his
debut for the team.

Ex- Barcelona Ace (Amuneke) Backs Move For Chelsea Victor Moses – He Will Be An Upgrade On Sergi Roberto

Following news of Barcelona’s interest in signing Chelsea wingback Victor Moses, a former player of the Catalan giants has urged the club to firm up their interest in the 25 year old Nigerian.

Sport reports that Barcelona have watched Moses three times in his newly adopted right wing-back role at Chelsea and now believe that he is one of the men who could help them solve their defensive frailties on the right side of defence.

The report also claimed that Barca officials have
been surprised with how Moses has adapted to
his new wing back role with so much “depth.”

Coach of the Nigeria U-20 team Emmanuel
Amuneke, who was on the books of Barcelona
from 1996-2000, said Moses will be an upgrade
on current wingback Sergi Roberto.

”Barcelona usually don’t play with regular full
backs, they play with wingbacks. That said Moses is one of the best wingbacks in the world right now”, Amuneke told Owngoalnigeria.com.

”It’s a transfer that ticks the right boxes. He will
be an upgrade on Sergi Roberto, even though
Roberto hasn’t done badly, but remember he is a midfielder while Moses is a winger turn full back, that gives him an edge”.

Moses has made 11 league appearances for
Chelsea this season, scoring twice and weighing
in with an assist.

He also has an 89 per cent tackle success rate,
five blocked shots and 10 interceptions since he
began playing as a wing-back.

The Nigerian winger has a contract with Chelsea until 2019.

OBI: I’VE WRITTEN MY NAME IN CHELSEA’S
HISTORY, I WAS PART OF THE BEST MOMENTS

Chelsea won a Champions League and FA Cup
double in 2012 a moment that remains the best
in the club’s history according to midfielder, Mikel Obi.

The Nigeria International , who is the second
longest serving player having been a key member of the squad for the past 10 seasons.

He insists he has written his name in the annals of the EPL club and so exercises no fears over his future with January approaching.

Mikel played in the final of the UCL and was
named man of the match
.

He also featured and helped the Blues win the Europa League the following season. He said though as a player he wants to win more titles with the club, however, he has no regrets if the union ends this season.

The 29-year-old admits he wouldn’t want to leave the club under acrimonious circumstances after 11 years and hopes for an amicable end to his contract with the EPL club.

Relatively Unknown Bosnian Based Nigerian
Goalkepper Nwokolor Earns “Buffon Of Africa” Tag

The performances of Bosnian based Nigerian shot stopper David Nwokolor who is on loan to Vitez from Croatian side HNK Rijeka has earned him a new nickname “Buffon Of Africa”.

The press in Bosnia gave him the tag “Buffon Of
Africa” due to his performances which has seen him keep six clean sheets in ten league games in Bosnia for modest side Vitez.

The Rijeka loanee has played 25 professional
games in Europe as a shot stopper, following his
16 games action for Croatian second division side Sibenik last season.

20 year old Nwokolor is the only Nigerian
goalkeeper playing for a top division side in
Europe, outside France based Vincent Enyeama
and Israeli based Dele Aiyenugba. **Jonathan Ligali nko??**

The current first choice goalkeeper of the Super

Conte Breaks Silence Over Mikel’s Lack Of
Game Time At Chelsea

Coach of English Premier League side Antonio
Conte has broken his silence over the continual
absence of John Obi Mikel in the match day squad of Chelsea.

The captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria is yet
to make a competitive appearance at Chelsea
under the Italian manager, in what is his eleventh season at Stamford Bridge.

Unlike previous pre match conference, where the manager hardly mentioned or talked about the 29 year old, he confirmed in his press conference ahead of the game against Tottenham Hotspur that Mikel is injured.

“John Terry and Obi Mikel are not available,’ Conte reported.

‘John has a muscular problem in his gluteus, and he will be out for maybe two or three weeks, I don’t know. It’s a pity because he recovered very well from his last injury and now he needs to stop again.

‘Obi is recovering from a muscular problem and in the next week he will train with us.’

Leon Balogun Presence At Mainz 05 Should
Sway Austrian-Born Onisiwo To Switch Allegiance To Nigeria

As coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot
Rohr continue to strengthen his team with
Nigerian players born abroad, a soccer aficionado Patrick Famoyin has advised the coach to target Austrian international Karim Onisiwo of Mainz 05.

Onisiwo is teammate to Super Eagles defender
Leon Balogun and Patrick believes his presence at the club should ease the stress of trying to
convince the 24 year old to play for Nigeria.

”Balogun’s presence at Mainz 05 should give us
an edge over Austria in the race to cap Onisiwo at senior level. But you know the coach has to
interested in him, before Balogun can approach
him”, Patrick said to Owngoalnigeria.com.

”He will be a good addition to the Super Eagles,
he is young, playing for a top league team and
also in the Europa league, I expect Nigeria to at
least try for him”.

Ex Austrian youth international Onisiwo joined
Mainz 05 during the January transfer window of
2016 from Austrian side Mattersburg, but after
six month of acclimatization, he is now a regular
for the senior team.

This season he has played 8 games in the
Bundesliga with 1 goal to his name, while in the
Europa League, the forward has played three
games with no goal to his name yet.

Sir Mujtahida possibly didnt see where you and I laid out in details the future of the Super Eagles attack..... You coined the name "League of Extraordinary Hitmen".

I called them the "ISIS" initially prior to Rio. But then substraction of Simon Moses to the bench and Osimhen coming in makes it more like an "ISIO"... Loollll

This league will rain fire, blood, sand, thunderstorms and Brimstones on all oppositions. A possible deadlier-than-MSN shall reign over African and world football at international level if we gel well and strike a synergy so powerful it will make messi and C.Ronaldo wanna come back after they retire....... smiley

I HAVE ALWAYS USED ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE THIS BEAUTY AND AWESOMENESS RISING SINCE MY DEBUT ON NL....... smiley

A possible deadlier-than-MSN shall reign over African and world football at international level if we gel well and strike a synergy so powerful it will make messi and C.Ronaldo wanna come back after they retire....... smiley

I HAVE ALWAYS USED ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE THIS BEAUTY AND AWESOMENESS RISING SINCE MY DEBUT ON NL....... smiley

While you are rubbing your palms, I'd be quietly sipping some wine. Anticipation!
