fratermathy: My dear these things are not superstions. Because you have not experience it does not make it a lie. Even the white man knows these things exist. Even the bible told us that the devil entered into the serpent to deceive eve while in another chapter of the bible Jesus cast demons into pigs. Haven't you seen or heard of the confession of witches and the ocultic people telling how they use different animals to carry out their evil activities ? Do you say their confession are not true? Like I said before it is only an Africa man that wants to deceive himself, will say these things are superstions. 1 Like |

Op you are very correct, the erroneous perfection of cats is just terrible. I have kept cats before, sincerely speaking; cats are among the cutest, and friendliest animals I've ever seen. Besides, if cats are witches or wizards as touted by some, then so are goats, antelopes, and grascutters.. 1 Like |

Vanquay:look at the trash coming from a certain atheist,. You are a disgrace to atheist. Its not a must to love cats but why will you threathen to kill them,. People love pet animals for different reasons and there nature, a cat and dog have a varied nature, why would you expect a cat to defend or guard you from an intruder |

fratermathy: I prefer dogs to cats. Dogs are better pets than cats.I think most folks would agree. Nigerian cats move in the night but oyibo cat move anytime day or night. So nocturnal stuff is not true. Whether you believe or not, in Africa folks live in a strange and mysterious environment. Not every Animal that you see is really an animal, hence many folks have the disposition to react in a negative way towards cats. |

We have like 20 wild cats in our farm behind our house Tried keeping one kitten as a pet n my grandmom brought olive oil n sprayed the house n then killed it I was so damn angry It was the day i told her to grow up n stop believing in nonsense that she has been shackled to all this crap I was really pissed Really wish we have animal service n protective agencies Would go a long way to help these cats or put them down responsibly if it is needed Wish nigerians and africans weren't so backwards 3 Likes |

The only reason Nigerian cats move around at night is because of people that threaten to kill them. Its a sad thing. I love cats especially the completely black ones. There are many of them around the place that I live... |

So true and heartbreaking.I still remember my experience sometime in September 2013 while serving in a community school in Enugu. I was on my way to the corpers lodge late that evening when i noticed some students hurling stones under the school water tank.On further enquiries i learnt they were out to destroy a witch in form of a cat that has been tormenting them for ages.I quickly chased them out and stretched my hands underneath the tank.It was the most beautiful kitten I've ever seen with snow white furs puffed up in fear.I cuddled her closely and made for my lodge to the amazement of my students. Apart from her injured left hind limbs, the little beauty was perfectly ok.She shouldn't be more than a day old and i kept wondering what might have happened to her mother.I prepared milk for her which she sipped hungrily and then started this ceaseless meows that soon got to my neighbors. They banged on my door demanding i dispose off the demonic creature while some murmured that i was a cult member. It didnt bother me till my roomate arrived from PH. The sight of a cat close to his bed space almost gave him a heart attack. We had a heated argument about it and he threatened to make a report to the authorities. To cut the story short,i later gave in to their pressure and took the kitten safely to the school field where i gently laid her under an old wooden school desk, then returned back home.I still remember hearing her faraway meows even while in my lodge for hours till midnight and all was quiet. Cats are one of the best pets you can have. They kill mice and snakes. They clean and walk themselves. They only want a little food and to snuggle under your feet. I enjoy having a cat around. However I don't like seeing people living with 20 cats. It's not hygienic. As the author posted, it's ok to not like cats. But to kill and torture them because you think they are demons is backwards and ignorant. Which way Nigerian...which way... 3 Likes |

In onitsha, A very good friend of mine had his pet cat thrown into d river niger by his own very religious mother. His mother drove home to d son's wails and complaints on her action. The most astonishing thing is that they were stunned to find d same cat meowing at d door of their four storey apartment some hours later all drenched in water! This is a very true story. |
