Welcome to naija where a pastor will sell holy water to the congregation and yet hire bodyguards. |

aalangel:If body guards are needed, why do they promise the congregation of " God's protection"? Why didn't pastor Chris pray that that disturbing chap goes away and leaves him for good? |

Don't you know that God will come like a thief in the night. likewise the bouncers will protect the pastor when the members finally know that they've been robbed for years ignorantly. lol |

EyeofHorus: I read ur comment and laughed. Do u understand the scripture at all? No vex o. If u refer to the 12 disciples of Christ as bodyguards, where are the Pastorates of the Ex-CAN President? I want to believe they are more than 100 in number. They shd hv also stood by him as bodyguards. Truth is bitter but I need to spill it out. Pastors are having bodyguards because angels of God are no longer close to them. They are very far away from God spiritually. If you think I'm wrong, consult your bible; read about prophet Elijah. You will realize that "not everyone that dresses in spiritual regalia or calls the Lord's name will enter the kingdom of GOD". |

peacesamuel94:The question here is 'ARMED' and not "crowd control" as you logically mentioned in your comment. You cant use AK 47, Pump Actions and Missiles to control crowd, you can only use those weapons to fall attackers. I believe in fulfillment in life as well and i dont think any reasonable person will wish him/erself untimely death except if he is frustrated. So, thinking that as a Man of God or public figure; going out without armed men is suicidal, is something I dont want to subscribe. You sounded just that with your emboldened statement. |

Boyooosa: I said so in reply to what you posted earlier not because I think their going out without armed men is suicidal. Let me reemphasize my view point concerning the topic, There is nothing wrong if they decide to hire bodyguards to show up at public places, and again there is nothing wrong if they decide not to. It is easy to cast stones and point accusing fingers, until we find ourselves in such a situation. Let's look at it from another angle, Imagine If PA adeboye or Bishop Oyedepo were to show up at Oshodi, without security officials, try and picture the kind of scene that will play out, the commotion, the frenzy they would cause. Would you call that humility or publicity stunts? You can't please everyone bro, as long as their reasons are genuine and it's not just to show off, then there's nothing wrong, and if they choose not to, then so be it. |
Re: Should Pastors Have Bouncers/Bodyguards? by Aaronsrod: 9:58pm On Nov 23, 2016 |
Boyooosa: It is better for all that the bodyguards shoot and kill disobedient crowd. If not the wrath of God will fall upon them and they may have generational curses and diseases and infant mortality. The death will be worse than mere bullet. Gods prophets are protected with good reason. |

Aaronsrod:We love discharging God's Responsibility in this part of the world sha. Why not leave the responsibility of Prophets' protection to the Angels, isn't it spiritual? |
Re: Should Pastors Have Bouncers/Bodyguards? by Boyooosa(m): 7:17pm On Nov 26, 2016 |
peacesamuel94:All through our chats, u v always made sense to me but sitting on the fence on the question "good or bad" is why am typing this, which may be my last comment. Is it good or bad to have armed men as your security while on public tour? simfu! Am verbatim that there is no call for such action except in a situation where God has informed such person that He is not sufficient for him and that, he can seek further protection. Afterall, a pastor or a prophet does not have anything to do with a physical war but spiritual warfare. So, why the need for physical weapons while the WORD of God can turn a city to ash. Bro, I dont drag with God's Might, instead I abide with basic law of Human's constitution... such as; dont go out in the night, dont steal, dont womanise, dont drink to stupor and most importantly, dont dare the Devil! |
Re: Should Pastors Have Bouncers/Bodyguards? by peacesamuel94(m): 7:38pm On Nov 26, 2016 |
Boyooosa: Personally i believe its a thing of choice, and not necessarily à good thing or bad thing. It is just like asking if it is good or bad for us to travel by boat or ship instead of us to simply walk On water Just like Christ did........Or dont we believe in God's ability to protect us ? I believe l'm chatting with a christian, so i would say, Annoting level differs, if a Man of God feels that he has gotten to the level where angels now literally escort him to wherever he goes and there will be no need for guards then 5n. But until then he shouldn't tempt God. Jesus had the ability to turn stones to bread but still yet, he didn't, does this make him false ? Of course not. The summary is that they can choose to, and can choose not to, and is not necessarily à display of righteousness or sinfulness. Hope this helps. |

peacesamuel94:... and if they choose to, what is the essence? Brother, am not too bothered about them parading armed men in every public event they attend, its their choice as u rightly mentioned. But from my own perspective, I want to believe that men of God are supposed to be role models for human race which means that their followers can always emulate them for the good things they do (No perfect man anyway, so they have shortfalls). In a situation where someone like Baba Adeboye or Bishop Oyedepo does something that can be easily criticized, then u should imagine what will happen in the next few days to such action (Remix everywhere, both with good and bad intention... I hope u understand what I mean). Fine, we are talking about 'Faith Based' Organisation and someone needs to lead by example to show the faith, then who is showing it if Baba Adeboye is not doing that? I am not requesting Baba Adeboye to go and preach in Zambisa Forest (laffs) without adequate security, what am reflecting here is that Baba Adeboye should let every believer understands and rest assures that "God is the Only and Only competent Protector". Play out this scenario: If RCCG @ KM46, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway is being listed by BH for attack; it will be suicidal for him and his followers to say they dont need Battalions of Army (even when God sent Saul to war, he gave him the precise numbers of Army he will need to fight the war) in front of their Gate (even God will blame him). But as a Christian leader, and you want to go out for an occasion or probably crusade in a peaceful but rowdy place like Oshodi, me am seeing the act of going with Men with AK47 as a Show of Shame (just like the way it was displayed in that pix we saw). Gun kills bro, its better you consult God before your outing and hear an audible NOD of God b4 going for such occasion than to be causing this kind of discussion we are having here. The only convincing reason i can accept here is if you tell me its an instruction from God and not like; Its their personal choice or intent behind it. Happy Sunday Bro! |

Boyooosa: Ok i get your point, moderation is the key, they shoudn't over do it, (as regards that pis) the carrying of guns, considering the location they where was a little bit unecesssrary. Happy sunday to you too Bro. |
