successzeez: Apply early! Although you can check online how long it is taking on average to process study permits, it is always a good idea to apply as early as possible, and at least four to six months prior to the start of classes. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/delay.asp |

justwise: I applied for my visa online on the 19th of October but I haven't heard from from CIC, however there is a someone on this forum who applied on the same day as me that has gotten his TRV. It really surprises tho because I really don't know what criteria CIC uses in tending to applications but am sure they sure give some applications more priority than others. |

I think travelling experience matters too, they'll quickly attend to people who have travelling experience but for those who their passports are empty and there's no visa on it have to wait longer...that's what I think though. |

Tosh1:Don't put too much pressure on yourself ooo.... you can only guess but trust me it's not usually like that.. .. their ways and strategies aren't clear.... there are people who have traveled far and wide still having their passports and applications in cic "custody".. The unnecessary long wait is sure enough to make one begin to think different things!!!.... It will end in praise!!! 1 Like |

tplacid: Cases are treated differently and i guess confirmation of all documents determines the length of the delay. You can only pray that your documents are quickly confirmed to reduce the waiting period. Note that the above is mere speculation and am not VO ooo. It will all end in praise. 2 Likes |

michV: My advise to my fellow admission seekers for Fall 2017. Once you submit, kindly read previous thread to know what's next before you need to do it. Also you should use the like link under each comment to track important info like documents submitted, important links, etc ( you can excuse the visa grant notification but comment congrats when necessary). I hope you submit multiple applications sha. If you can afford cad25-40k , you may want to consider pgc( abi pgd de ni) but ensure the course name spelling is close to that of your undergraduate e.g pgc(d) in computer ... After bsc computer .. To make things easier afterwards. It will all end in praise. God will answer our prayers. Amen Am sorry for the problem comprehending it before this editted version. I will continue to edit till I get it right sha. Make una no vex. |

keke366: thank you for the response, I really appreciate it... the major issue is getting the Canadian dollars, my sponsor (parent) keeps saying that the Naira is not the problem but he can't get the dollars... I actually don't believe that and before I can be able to say no that is wrong I should know a way to pay... please do u know a reliable and legitimate means of getting the ADEQUATE or COMPLETE amount to cover for the tuition and leaving expenses... I hope u get where I am coming from |

Hope this helps calm the nerves of those awaiting their student visa, if it gets to 14 weeks without any word from Cic, then there might be cause for alarm, for now just be hopeful, optimistic and prayerful. 1 Like

michV: hello, honestly it makes no sense at all when you seek for answers and you are referred to read from page 1. information posted here aren't static but are dynamic, they change over time. Google, always pops out the most recent answers and wont tell you to start searching the entire database just to get answers. thanks. i hope we all change that altitude. 5 Likes |

Ezechinwa:No one has told you to start from page 1,similarly most atimes i may just come online flip the pages and leave, may be i am just tired from work to type on responding posts which i am knowledgeable enough to answer. Some questions require simple research which some people don't do rather the rely on what ever they were told here which i feel most atimes people do ignore such post and expect the individual to carry out easy research on that or some may not respond because they don't want to give you mediocre response. Mind you if i referred you to start from page 1or any page, I may be absolutely right because study permit requirements and procedures have not change it's still that same thing.that is to say that 1+1=2 which has never Changed since ages till it is hypothetically proven to have changed to =3 if the argument and investigation with findings can solidify the transistion. Finally i still agree there are questions that changes over with time, when you throw such questions, exercise patience or if it requires urgency, you can quote monikers you are familiar with to give you relieved mind answers pending when they come online to answer them if they are knowledgeable of such questions cos they ain't glued here.i went against that moniker because of her arrogant statement. 1 Like |
