I keep wandering why Yoruba ppl 're always afraid of Igbos!!!!!!........I work with Yorubas n its always touching to hear them complain of Igbo dominance in Lagos.

Lol...
In school it was the same thing.
You can achieve anything if you put in the work, that is what I tell everyone I meet.
The world don't like the jews, not even the Caucasians, but hey, they put in the work, and that is what got them to where they are today.

So by inference, you have indirectky referred to me as a Stupid Igbo.. smh
you see the problem with people like you?

Okay, assuming the 1966 coup did not happen that led to the death of Tafa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello did not happen, will our people have been killed like that?

you guys reason zigzag, sorry to say.
Okay, let me give you an example that will be easily understood by you.
Nnamdi Kanu is in prison as we speak, if for any reason Nnamdi Kanu dies there, with tge allegation that he was poisoned by the government, you think there will be no revolt and bloodshed from his followers (Aboki men in Onitsha will be endangered specie)

As dumb as Buhari is, he will not try such a thing because he knows the consequence of that will blow this country.

Seriously? You are testing my patience here.
Are you saying that it was Igbo people that carried out the Nzeogwu coup? Was Nzeogwu an elected Igbo politician?
Are you by anyway justifying the massacre of Ndiigbo all over the North post counter coup?

The five south east state can leave nigeria if they want, nobody cares as long as no single south south soil is included.

I know IPOB would soon come and attack me with thier usual boring lines listed below:

1. Who are you to speak for entire South South or Niger Delta.

My question to them: who are IPOB to even speak for the entire south east.

2. There is no word like South South in Geography.

My answer to them: words are created by man and nations. Nigeria have created the word South South and it has come to stay. Deal with it. The word South South is also used by the United Nation. U can google to get educated. The word google, facebook,IPAD were created in our lifetime.

3. You are yoruba and Afonja.

My answer to them: i am a full blooded Niger Deltan like Amadi Elechi, Anthony Enahoro, Ken Saro Wiwa, Isaac Adoko Boro , Ateke Tom, Ayiri etc who rejects Biafra. If you dont believe, u can go hug toilet!

4.They will not leave any Igbo tribe in south south behind when they break away.

My answer to them: We dont have Igbo in South South. What we have in south south is distinct independent ethnic nationalities like Kwale, igbanke, ikwerre, Anioma, Etc. Cubans are not Mexicans,Texans are not Mexicans, Portuguese are not spanish even though they share border, history and language similarities.

5.We dont want South South because of oil.

You can say that to a one year old infant. There is low oil price today, all the south east states are currently facing strong recession.

6. Your Divide and Rule wont work.

My answer to IPOB is that they are the king of Divide and rule. Whenever a Niger Deltan speak on Niger Delta issue, IPOB fraud are quick to tell you how Ijaw cant speak for Urhobo, how edo cant speak for Isoko and Itsekiri cant speak for ndokwa etc. IPOB always want to tell us Niger Deltans how diverse and different we are while downplaying our strong simililarities and history so dat they can easily annex us as small insignificant groups.

7. There will be a Referedum where South south will have to chose between Nigeria and Biafra.

This is d most deluded statement of IPOB which can only happen in thier wet dreams. If there will be referedum in Nigeria it can never be two choice but multiple choices. The choice will and must definitely include the following: Niger Delta Republic, Nigeria , Biafra, Oduduwa, Arewa and others. Niger Delta Republic is our preferred choice as south south people.

8. Nigeria is a creation of white man. They want old eastern region back. The people were not consulted before the almagamation of Nothern and Southern protectorates.

My Answer to them: Old Eastern region was also a creation of a white man. The white man did not consult all the various ethnic nationalities in all the regions before they created the eastern, western and Northern region. People were forcely lumped together as eastern region. This is obvious with the Joy of Rivers State and Cross Rivers state people when they were seperated from a dominant Oppressive tribe in old eastern region to create thier own state. Wike the Governor of Rivers state just celebrated this issue last year by naming port Harcout township Stadium as Yakubu Gowon Station.
Delta State including Asaba was never at any time in history part of Eastern region. Delta state including asaba was first part of of Benin Kingdom/Empire before becoming part of Western Region, then part of Mid West, then part of Bendel before becoming Delta state today.

9. In Biafra, every region will own thier resources and pay tax to the centre. South south people should not be afraid of losing thier resources to a dominant tribe.

My answer to them: Why will South South people be comfortable to paying any form of tax to a centre likely to be controlled by a dominant tribe with the least resources, least landmass and almost more than 50% of the resulting population of such union. We will rather form our own Niger Delta Republic and run our things ourselves alone. I think we will prefer resource control in Nigeria than that your dream Biafra.

10. Your dream Niger Delta Republic will not work because south south people are too diverse and different

My answer to them: Divide and Rule in action. Your dream Biafra will be more diverse than our dream Niger Delta Republic. Your dream Biafra is our dream Niger Delta Republic plus South East. However even if Niger Delta Republic will not work, we are ok with it breaking into three or six different countries. It is our problem. Leave it for us. Afterall Soviet union broke into more than 20 countries and the world have not ended. In Summary, Niger Delta people wants Resource Control, Fiscal Federalism or Niger Delta Republic as last option if Federal Republic of Nigeria breaks.

You have displayed inherent ignorance in the above crap. If you have ever been called names because of the illogicalities you vomit, I can safely say you deserved every bit of the insults. It is a display of idiocy to say there is no Igbo in the so-called South-south when Umuagbai and Obigbo are in the so-called South-south.

Oga I am not justifying anything....
I lost family aplenty because of what happened....
Of course it was not all Igbo that killed Tafa and Ahmadu, but it was cause and effect, and you cannot deny that.

Whether it was right or wrong (of course it was wrong) is another thing, but what happened will not have happened if their leaders were not killed in such manner, and if you deny this, you are not a sincere person.

Besides, you have not answered the question I raised about nnamdi kanu.
his blind followers will shed blood if Nnamdi Kanu does in detention, (I have heard many of his followers threaten that) So what are you saying?

Was Ironsi and countless Igbo military officers not killed too?
Was an Igbo not killed during Nzeogwu coup?
Were their not non Igbos that were Integral part of the coup?
Was the 1966 massacre of Ndiigbo the first first time such Igbo massacre occurred in the North?

If Nnamdi be killed today. Then he would have been killed by an elected Northern president who has northern support and mandate. His murder would have been an institutionized one, that occurred under Arewa-Oduanistan rulership with active online and offline support of Arewa-Oduanistans.
Was this the same scenario surrounding the Nzeogwu coup?

Before 1966, list another massacre of such magnitude that happened?

The one that happened in Kano in 1957/8 was not a massacre, it was a fight gone bad that left casualty on both sides in Sabongari, so before you lie, use another example

And concerning your last paragraph, you are the level of your thinking?

Was Ironsi killed? Yes
was an Igbo killed in the coup Okotie Eboh was not Igbo, so I'll say no.
were there other tribes involved? To a lesser degree yes.

Let's now go to the results of the coup....
Igbos were the highest beneficiary of that coup.
They now had the army, civil service and the presidency in their pocket.
in a multiethinic country, that is not a good sign.

It is because of this indeed that many Hausa people and Yoruba people who lived then consider us as domineering people.

Let us look at this without sentiment please.

Politically, you may be correct, but what about the civilians that were massacred. where they also part of the coup? Are they part of the government? After the counter coup that saw many Igbo officers dead, why not halt the killing? Why extend it to innocent civilians? Please, whats your take on it. Wokem?

Why take the stress to pile up this monologue?

Is referendum too hard?

Then we would know who says what and who wants what.

No one has absolute right to speak for all.

Ask BREXIT!

It may interest you to know that the often-tauted BREXIT turned out not the way it was foreseen. Just like the US election turned out contrary to expectation.
Today both polls are described as the greatest political upset of our modern time.

Sometimes being vocal and loud is not the same as being true and correct. The TomToms of falsehood always beat the loudest. Those who are quick to take up arms must understand that blood and death lay in the path of war (proverb).

What an old man sees lying down, an infant cant see it standing on trees. The young today have swallowed the spitle of discord...and now our society suffers the collective bellyache.

Really? How many Igbo people has to be murdered for it to serve as massacre to you? 1 million?
https://www.nairaland.com/2791382/history-igbo-massacre-across-northern

Col Arthur Unegbe was killed in the coup.
Zik was not in the country during the coup, Okpara was entertaining a foreign leader during the coup.

Ademoyega was a major part of the core coup plotters, so, only you know what you meant by " to a lesser extent".

How exactly did the Igbo have the Army in their pocket Post Nzeogwu coup?
How exactly did they have the civil service in their pockets Post Nzeogwu coup?
I eagerly await your statistical substantiation of the above questions with credible sources.

No, the Akenzua Igbophobic article was written before the war, Ahmadu Bello Igbophobic footage was made before the coup , the details of the Northern house of Assembly meeting to curb what they termed "Igbo dominance", was made before the coup.

You will be a mischievous character, to chalk up the Igbophobic stench emanating from Arewa-Oduanistan to the fall out of the Nzeogwu coup.

The illiterates who went on killing rampage (their judgement is waiting for them, the ones that are not already dead) were sold the idea that we killed their leaders and want to dominate them etc. that was bad and I will never justify badness.
the massacre of the civilians were wrong on many levels (my grand father lost cousins aplenty) but there was a motivation (that is my point) the motivation was not enough justification for what happened, but we cannot just wish it away.

Your post lack one vital thing, substance. Its base on hypothesis. As far as we know, the Igbos were lynched by mobs led by Police and Army officers during the progrom. That was clear state sponsored killing. Read one of Wole Soyinka's book (and the man died) to get more details.
There is no guarantee that the death of Nnamdi Kanu will lead to the massacre of Northerners in the East. That is pure baseless assumptions...

There is no basis for Nigerian unity and if the Igbos had handled their secessionist bid well, it would have succeeded but they bungled it!. Everybody is suspicious of the other! Even the smaller groups apart from the trio of Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo. No basis for the nation Nigeria.

Igbos were already dominant in the Army and civil service before Nzeogwu coup. Their dominance in those sectors were not fall outs of Nzeogwu coup, they were earned through hard work and adventurism prior to Nigerian independence, when the British were in charge and competence trumped mediocrity.

The coup plotters killed many Igbo soldiers out of hate, resentment, revenge, etc.

Igbo dominance in the civil service was earned. The colonial employed the best hands, Igbos were the best hands, and were adventurous enough to leave their enclaves to take up employment in any remote part of Nigeria their services were needed, not many Nigerian groups were that daring to leave their comfort zones.

Agreed on the bold. But nowhere in record did the Igbos attack strangers whether Hausa, Yoruba or any group. The recent records of attack were more or less reprisal attack, when such attacks against the Igbos occurs in the North. They learnt it from the Northerners.
I will love to see a separate countries for the Igbos; but Nigeria should endeavor to return back our land fraudulently carved into today South South.

Igbos were already dominant in the Army and civil service before Nzeogwu coup. Their dominance in those sectors were not fall outs of Nzeogwu coup, they were earned through hard word and adventurism prior to Nigerian independence, when the British were in charge and competence trumped mediocrity.

The coup plotters killed many Igbo soldiers out of hate, resentment, revenge, etc.

Igbo dominance in the civil service was earned. The colonial employed the best hands, Igbos were the best hands, and were adventurous enough to leave their enclaves to take up employment in any remote part of Nigeria their services were needed.

I agree with this your post now our dominance in the army and the civil service was worked for and earned, and if course was not because of nepotism.
I thought you wanted to deny that fact, then I would have known for sure that you are mischievous if you did that.

People like you were the ones that died more during the counter coup and war proper.
My grandfather was the Eze ndi Igbo in Bauchi before the war, well loved by the Northerners there, yet he was a very perceptive mind, he knew what laid behind those friendly laughter and camaraderie from the Northerners, before the counter coup even broke out, he already had left the North with his entire family and was safe at home.

Where as non discerning Igbos like you stayed behind, deceived by friendly vibes they were getting from Northerners, they were all slaughtered by their Northern friends.
Few of them that were lucky enough to make it to Benue from far North were ambushed and massacred by Tivs, Idomas, and their Hausa friends in Markurdi and it's surroundings.

Same happened in Benin and in Yorubaland.

Those stupid Igbos died, and nothing happened, their families replaced them, and the Igbo race continued to exist.

When the chips are down, it's the hateful ones, the bad eggs, the bitter ones that will lead the mob. The apparent good ones you are counting on will go missing or even join them after little persuasion grin.

Why all these bitterness and bitter hurtful remarks on a good sunday morning like this?
Bringing back the bitter past won't change anything. The northernerns and middlebelters too also have their own bitter stories to tell abt the igbos, but they are not.

This comment of yours is nothing but the truth.
If not for the coup, northernerns would not have woken up one morning to just start attacking igbos in their midst.

If you have ever frown at corruption, I wonder why the fundamental factors that triggered the coup of January 15, 1966 seemed to evade you. Nigeria is solely dead on the tracks because of countercoup of July 29, 1966.

There is no coup planned to have equal and proportionate number of people as collateral damages. The mindsets of the coup plotters are different from a rationale human being. It is absolute idiocy to deeds of Nigerian army into a tribal pedigree. Since January 15, 1966 Nigeria had more then one coup and which of them have been tagged as a tribal coup. Tribal injection into a military parlance is mere political tool. There were 1945 Jos massacre and 1953 Kano massacre. Please do not empower the enemies of Ndigbo with ill informed craps.

I don't subscribe to IPOB ideology, but they may not be far from the truth. When you push a man to the wall, he is bound to react. I am not an IPOBIAN, but a concerned Igbo.... the reality is that Nigerians don't seems to appreciate us.....
The last election was an example that opened my eyes. We voted for a candidate of our choice, and boom the whole country descended on us with various names and derogatory tags..... etc.

Modified:
If Nigerians will stop the hate and killings in the name of tribe or religion affiliation, I tell you the agitation for break up will die a natural dearth. The killers of Mrs. Bridget now walk the street free. Is that not gross injustice? Why was she killed? Because she is Igbo and a Christian. How many times have the Igbos been lynched in the North for one trivial reason or the other? 2015 election would have been a disaster if Jonathan had not conceded defeat.... Who will want to live in such country?

Dont loathe yourself is self sympathy.

In Nigeria, no one just loves anyone like that. Every ethnic group are interested in championing their own interests and often react when they see a group who is a potential threat to their interests.

Igbos were not the only ones who voted for GEJ in the last election, South south and parts of the middlebelt also did and we did not die or cry cos GEJ lost.

Mrs Bridget is not the first christian to be killed in the north for religious issues and neither was she killed because she was igbo. So many middlebelt and yoruba christians have suffered such too, even yoruba muslims too. Igbo christians seem to be victims of such in the north more often because of their assertive and arrogant nature.
