Hi People, Please I need your help/advice. I have a US PayPal account which i opened here in Nigeria and i have used it to make and receive payments, I even used it to send money on the 21st of this month. The card i have linked to the PayPal account is a Mastercard issued by FirstBank and it is linked to a normal savings account. So on the 22nd I got a payment, so i wanted to send the money to my in-law whom also has a US Paypal account, of which he has been the one i have been sending money to via that account in exchange for Naira. So on that day i tried sending the money and i got an error prompt that i cannot use the linked card to make the payment, i tried sending to another person, it was the same error message that i got, So i removed the card and tried to link/add another card, but all was futile and i kept getting error message that the card cannot be linked. The truth is, the billing address i have on my account is different from what is on the card, and i can't even update my address to a Nigeria address. I have emailed PayPal, and it was established that the $1 charge that paypal withdraws from the card was not allowed by my card issuer. I have some money in that account and i need to get it out. Is there anyone who have experienced something similar? I will appreciate advice on what to do. The response email i got: Dear ******, Thank you for contacting PayPal. My name is Ana and I am happy to assist you. I understand that you are trying to add debit or credit cards with your PayPal account and make a payment but your attempts were declined by your card issuer. I encourage you to contact your card issuer and speak to their online authorization department to find out why the temporary charge was denied. Please note that the general customer service at your bank may not be able to provide specific information on why a transaction was denied. For your protection, whenever you add or update your credit card information, we temporarily charge a small amount to your card. This helps us verify that you’re the real owner of the card. Here are some common reasons why a card issuer would decline a payment: There could be a limit on the card that's been exceeded. The card issuer could be temporarily unable to make online payments. The card issuer might be temporarily unavailable to answer the authorization request we sent. The card issuer could be blocking this transaction for security reasons, if the transaction doesn’t match usual spending pattern. Thank you for choosing PayPal. Sincerely, Ana Kristina PayPal Customer Solutions |

arowhales:I heard removing the only card on your PayPal automatically blocks the account. I have one of such locked with a 53$ balance. You can apply for the paypal card see if that works. 1 Like |

Tips on how not to be a victim of scam as a Seller of e-currency 0.0.0 NEVER TRANSACT WITH ANYONE WHO SAYS "I AM A COVENANT CHILD OF GOD"0.1.1 NEVER TRANSACT WITH ANYONE WHO SAYS "I AM A CHILD OF GOD"0.1.2 NEVER TRANSACT WITH ANYONE WHO INVOLVES GOD (SO THAT YOU CAN TRUST HIM/HER)1.0 Never be desperate as a seller. You will always get a buyer.2.0 Put your number or email in your signature before posting your advert. Don't type your number on the page.3.0 If someone contacts you for your funds, ask the person to quote you on Nairaland, To be sure you know who you're dealing with4.0 If you want to be extra sure, especially if you are sending first, you can ask your buyer for a watermarked i.d.5.0 If you are still skeptical and need to be extra safe, ask for escrow (A third party acting as guarantor)6.0 Send money to buyer if he/she is a prominent member of this thread (or better still, ask who can vouch for the member. 3-999 vouches should do). Expect ur equivalent cash and currency…NEW 7.0 Please all those sellers posting screenshots of $50,000 in your various wallets and accounts, always put watermark on them. And incase you are doing it to show off, pls stop showing off. As you can see, I am getting jealous Contact me for your fiverr Withdrawal.
