Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by infofta(m): 2:38pm On Nov 27, 2016 |
@ Khez: No. Proof of employment is very important You must satisfy a visa officer that you will return to your home country before a visitors visa is issued. In the form of employment letter, bank statement, family ties, properties and so on. Things that will show you will return after your visit. 2 Likes |

wine4dguy: If it is a fresh visa I will advise you to chill till feb, truth is you might be turned back at the POE because it shows that you are not only in RSA for study purposes. If its a renewal, then you are free to come in. All the best |

wine4dguy: I meant Jan I hope you know a visa is not a guarantee entrance to enter any country, it is just an authority granted to the holder to proceed to the immigration officer at the Port of Entry, the officer now uses his discretion whether to grant you entry or not. Now if he feels you are coming into SA for other reasons asides study he has every right to turn you back. Look at it, your school starts in Jan, you want to come in dec when schools are closed and everyone is on holiday, if I was an immigration officer I will feel you are coming in for other things and I will turn you back, I just spoke to an official at DHA now and he said I quote "tell your friend to come in january or he risk his visa being canceled" those were his exact words. Do you know the stress you will face if your visa is cancelled, why do you want to risk it at all when you can just wait? What if your visa wasn't granted would you come to SA in Dec, won't you wait, why do you want to raise unnecessary attention on yourself? Well I have said my piece 5 Likes |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by infofta(m): 9:19am On Nov 28, 2016 |
@ fahila It will be better for the employer (church) to be your sponsor. The church should state they are the one sponsoring you for the voluntary work. You are not applying for a study permit, it will not be proper for your mum to be your sponsor. You can also transfer the money to your account. |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Khez: 1:43pm On Nov 28, 2016 |
Flyerik: Please how did you get the visa? Used an agent? Or applied yourself? Pls share |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by infofta(m): 6:00pm On Nov 28, 2016 |
@ fahila Don't you think the visa officer will think why do you want to spend so much of your mum's money just to do voluntary work in South Africa. If the church cannot provide you: 1. Registration documents 2. Bank statement 3. Contract of employment 4. Letter of guarantee on their letter head stating they will be responsible for your living expenses during your stay. If you don't have these documents from them, my advice is not to apply because your application process will require you to provide other supporting documents like medical examination, police clearance, visa fee etc which will cost you money. If the visa officer is not satisfied you have the means to meet your living expenses without resulting to a paid work the visa will be denied. Remember you are applying for a voluntary work permit not a work permit. |

@ Khez Many agents use fake documents, when they are detected the applicant is usually banned for some years from applying. 1 Like |

abnice2004: Sorry about the issue, I have certified copy of SAQA. The Original is in SA and was certified in SA and sent to my mail. Hope it would be accepted because it's more or less the photocopy of the certified copy? Thanks and what were the documents that lacks credibility according to them so us appling soon would be informed |

You don't need any agent for your application bro cos you can do it yourself so far you are working and earning well. What you need is your self introduction letter, attestation letter, bank statement, yellow card, your passport, flight and hotel reservations, copy of your work i.d card front and back and your passport photograph. I think with that you are good to go bro, the gurus in the house can also add some tips okay. Khez: 2 Likes |

Please i need information from some one knowledgeable in the house. My son applied to a South Africa private univesity for an undergraduate study with O'level WAEC. He was offered a one year High certificate course. I called the school and they said after one year he will now proceed to 3 years bachelor degree program. The school did not mention any saqa/hesa. And this issue of saqa/hesa is also confusing to me. Now i want to apply for study permit for him. My question is since the offer admission stated one year Higher certificate course, do i need this saqa/hesa before i can apply for study permit for him. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by staggerlee: 4:02am On Nov 30, 2016 |
tinsel: You don't need SAQA or HESA, since you have admission already, all you can do is to tell the school to give your son a letter to state that he doesn't need any SAQA for his study |
