Following the killing of a boy in Lagos weeks back, the Nigerian Senate on Monday moved to pass the anti Jungle Justice Bill.

The Anti Jungle Justice Bill went in for 1st reading in the Senate on Tuesday 11th August, 2016 & 2nd reading Weds 5th October, 2016.

The Anti Jungle Justice Bill seeks to criminalize all forms of lynching, mob action and extrajudicial killing of anyone.

The bill aimed to to discourage the use of jungle justice by ensuring the wheel of proper justice is well oiled.

The bill which is sponsored by Sen Dino Melaye representating Kogi West Senatorial district will ensure that perpetrators of lynchings and mob actions are brought to book.

The extrajudicial killings has of late been on the increase

Jungle justice is not just meted out to anybody at any point in time without due reasons and due to delay of justice in the courts I think that's the major reason why jungle justice is on the increase

I'm totally against jungle justice but in some situations, you won't feel pity for them because they don't feel pity when inflicting pains on individuals

I also hope the Senate passes law for accelerated hearing so that justice should not be delayed for whatever reason

First time in history, the Senate is doing something sensible and reasonable. And it took them 100 years to do so. undecided

The loved ones of those boys deserve justice!

Wow!

I can't believe Nigeria never put this forward till now. With all the incidents I've seen reported.

What exactly do Nigerian tax payers pay these clowns to do anyway?
They get paid more than any lawmakers on the planet, but do the least amount of effective lawmaking.

Better late than never, but still. undecided

Rubbish! Before now, were those people caught not punished...excess exaggeration.

Sponsor Bill that if you are a governor and you refuse to pay at most 2months salary, you should vacate ur seat.

Sponsor bill that as a governor, if no development isn't seen within 365days of assuming the office, you should spend the same 365days in kirikiri.

Then, I'll take y'all serious.

Good move!

Why can't some folks just borrow some sense?
They should learn to say it as it is and not just spew trash just to attract few silly LIKES.
The Senate just did the right thing.
