Nigeria is really messed up and it no wonder it's citizen are struggling to justify and make sense of this Africa "giant". The recourse is to quote population and gdp figures - which are cooked in dim lit office - coz even national stats office doesn't have power. Nigeria population is inflated by states as they fight for only thing in nigeria - oil petrodollars. I'v seen figures saying Nigeria pop is inflated by 20-30m. Lagos population according to 2006 is 8m - but you'll hear them projecting to 20m!!. Their gdp surely cannot be equal to South Africa or Egypt. Unless you're smoking something illegal or you're completely detached from all sense and logic.

GDP is easy to prove - you just cross-reference it with pseudo-data (consumption & expenditure data)- such as cement consumption (most reliable indicator considering it mostly local and too bulky to be exported),oil consumption, power consumption, water consumption, infrastructure and etc. Nigeria real GDP if use such kind of data is about 150-200B USD. Way less than South Africa or Egypt. Look at their federal and state budget - which is really minuscule - twice kenya(at best if you include all states) - and 3 times less than South Africa's.

Remember Nigeria cheats - on all things - including gov surveys.So Nigerians quit quoting data of any kind done in dim lit smoke filled office collected by lying Nigerian enumerators from lying people. Put pictures or some evidence that we can see. We need real emperical evidence backed data - not data whose source is Nigeria Stats Office - that is not even literally lit.

Now when nigeria can't quote data - you hear them talking about entertainment industry - this to me is nonsense we should not dignify with a response.Next they talk about one or two billionaires who've grabbed themselves a oil block - but we know looking total dollar millionaires - it mere 15,000 - twice kenya - and 3 times less than South Africa.

Safairom kenya annual revenue -1.8B usd.

Kenya has 2/3 the land mass and 1/5 the population means the density is LESS. ah ah mathematics is important in life.
Ps: India, China and even USA have leveraged their humongous populations for development,progress and influence .
