I wish GDP could be canned into koolAid so Nigeria can drink it. As of now that GDP is useless. It just a figure concocted by Nigeria Stats Office. It doesn't pay for salaries for gov workers in Nigeria which are routinely delayed. It doesn't build roads. GdP doesn't supply power. What matters is what money is in Nigeria bank account - to ran the economies of private households, companies and gov. And there isn't much. Your GDP cannot help your army when all it gives them is 0.9B usd for 130,000 force - that is been ran around by Boko Haram!!!!!!!!!!! All nigeria GDP gives you is bragging right - we are africa biggest economy - which to any sensible is just another naija joke. Anybaba: 2 Likes |

ProudlyKenyan: has this depraved ranting of yours changed the fact of who the biggest economy in Africa is? Nigerian army is our pride. We fight and win wars. We fought in Liberia, Sierra Leone and elsewhere. Tell me one single effort your well funded army has done and a single war it has won? is it the al-shabba fiasco in Somalia? And I know how pained you feel....your negativity cannot make any Nigerian defer to any African, least a Kenyan. Jigga infested cowland. 1 Like |

Again let nigeria win the war against boko haram and bring the chibok girls before you talk about fighting elsewhere. That of course is joke. Brits rescued Liberia & Sierra leone from chaos. Kenya defence force is lean, professional and well funded forces who have been part of UN peace keeping forces in many countries including IRAN-IRaq,Croatia,Liberia,Siera leone, South sudan, Namibia, Bosnia- Herzegovinia, Kuwait, wester Sahara, Mozambique, Rwanda, Angola and Somalia. Kenya defence force is certainly one of Africa most respected.Kenya’s military officers have occupied several senior positions within UN peacekeeping operations, including two Chief Military Observers (UNOMIL), Force Commander (UNMIL), Force Commander (UNAMSIL), a Deputy Force Commander (UNTAG), a Chairman of Joint Verification Committee (ONUMOZ), a Sector Commander (UNPROFOR), a Senior Military Liaison Officer (UNPROFOR), a Deputy Sector Commander (UNPROFOR), a Chief of Staff (UNPROFOR), and a Garrison Commander (UNPROFOR). And reason your fake GDP can only afford 0.9B usd for 130,000 and our realistic GDP give our army 1.5B USD for learner 25,000 force. Nigeria can only be deployed to western african banana countries -Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, and Sierra Leone. Anybaba: 3 Likes |

ProudlyKenyan: Nigerian army will win the war. And are those the achievements of your respectable army ? Really ? What a mighty Kenyan army. A country and army that sat by while its neighbour in consumed in a long drawn war, for over 20 years, only for UDF to show up. 1 Like |

Kenya has long pursued non-interference policy and has been little switzerland in Africa. We contribute to UN peace keeping forces. We only invaded Somalia when they become too much. Otherwise save for TZ - all our neighbours have been in long drawn wars - and we have benefited economically as oasis of peace. Even Alshabbab invest in Kenya. Your don't send a indiscipline army like Naija abroad and expect peace. Nigeria army has overthrown civilian rule in Nigeria how many times. Isn't it part of main reason why Nigeria is messed up. Kenya army is the most disciplined, the most professional and the least political in Africa. We don't sleep thinking one day our military will wake up and overthrow our civilian gov. Never gonna happen. They are well paid and happy. Anybaba: 4 Likes |

Anybaba: Read more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/03/how-we-award-oil-blocks-fg/ So you give us a few Nigerians owning oil wells block but leased to foreign entities? Nigerians currently own 52 per cent of the country’s 173 active oil blocs, while foreign oil companies own 48 per cent. The total of 388 oil blocks in the country, only 173 of them have been awarded to individuals and corporations, while 215 blocks were yet to be awarded. Broken further, of the 173 so far awarded, Nigerians owned 90 blocks while foreigners owned 83 blocks. However, lamented that all the 90 blocks awarded to indigenous players account for only six per cent of the country’s total crude oil production, while the 83 awarded to foreign oil companies account for 94 per cent of the total output. Steering the hornets’ nest The Chairman, Senate Committee on Business and Rules, Senator Ita Enang, a forth night ago steered the hornets’ nest, when he alleged that 83 percent of Nigeria’s oil blocks were in the control of the northern region. This led to a series of claims and counter claims by various groups in the different geographical regions in the country, including activists and non-governmental organisations, NGOs. Many even called for a review of oil block awards. Even newspapers (not Vanguard) went agog with their own versions of the real oil block owners. However, DPR’s recent pronouncements on the issue that Nigerians own 80 oil bocks where foreigners had 83 have nullified every other previous pronouncements on the controversial oil blocks ownership, including the list of 77 oil blocks and their owners recently published by one of the dailies. Analysts are of the view that to end the controversy, the DPR should go a step further to publish the full list of the 173 oil blocks so far awarded, indicating who owned what, whether local or foreign. 1. Those info and data released by them 'scavengers' are false. 2. Ownership of oil blocks in Nigeria is enshrined in fraud and secrecy, with players from the past and present and all tribes and parts of the country involved. 3. Most of the active Oil Mining Leases and Oil Prospecting Leases are awarded to foreign companies. 4. Most indigenous companies are doing nothing serious with their licences but scam, and that does not exclude any tribe. 5. Northerners are much involved than southerners is not a verifiable fact. 6. IBB started this scam, and every one got on the train favouring their own; all the way to Abdusalam, OBJ, GEJ and Diezani. 7. They are leases and have expiry, and the owners of them don't actually own them in the real sense of it. 8. They should be reviewed and made public. 9. The 'scavengers' are some misguided entities probably with a tint of sincere ignorance/plain actors actors playing out a script -- working out their angle for some elite. 10. Follow the links below to have a better idea of what ownership of those blocks look like . . . not 100% accurate though, 'cause everything is shrouded in secrecy and 'padi-padism' with no tribe left out. However, still a better pointer than the 'scavengers' claim. 2 Likes |

ProudlyKenyan: The policy of cowards !! In east Africa, we know which army to respect. it is not your so call disciplined army that was caught on video stealing jewelries in the heat of the west mall terrorist attack. they are so well paid to steal. the Ugandan army has seen battle, same with Ethiopia, all in a bid to stabilize ur neighbour and therefore are respected and ranked above your so called army. even when you claimed to intervene in somalia, what is the worth of your efforts. 2 Likes |

There is reason why Kenya is miles ahead of all our neighbors. We use our brains. If that makes us coward then let it be. We want to pursue what is important - not brag about army exploits and useless 500b usd - that can't pay the army. The brave UG and Ethiopia have seen wars for 20-30 yrs each and are ever on tenterhook of another army taking over. Heck their current gov are rebels/army controlled. This is the same with Nigeria. Kenya is civilian democratic stable country that nobody cares about the army - The job of the army is act as deterrent - not to see action. Anybaba: 2 Likes |

ProudlyKenyan: You are not miles ahead of your neighbours. Kenya is not better than Tanzania. You are quick to insult the Nigerian army that has fought to bring peace in Liberia and Sierra -Leone and that is standing firmly against Isis inspired terrorism. That is the army you insult and ridicule whilst your National army is a reserve of redundant tools that should actually be mocked. 2 Likes |

The same army you're proud of is responsible for nigeria looking like it just came out of war. Naija is shitty looking because your army has overthrown your civilian rule and abrogated the constitution severally I lost count. They went ahead to steal billions. Abacha stole so much there is still billions of unclaimed naira money in foreign banks.. You pay army private 150 usd & major less than 1,000 per month- and you're(Shell) exporting all those billions dollars - while we pay our private 400USD and army major nearly 4,000usd - and you call yourself African giant. You only have 110 army planes against our 130? Show us where you've hidden this gdp - preferably in pictures? Anybaba: 4 Likes |

ProudlyKenyan: the Nigeria that looks like it just came out of war has produced wole soyinka and chinua achebe, pioneers of African literature. I know you read things fall apart as a standard text in school. this war torn Nigeria has produced the likes of elechi amadi and other renowned authors more numbers than any other country in black africa. the Nigeria that looks like it just came out of war has grown a movie industry fro nothing that even Kenya had to send some its citizens for training. it has also produced the richest black man on planet earth. hence your inferiority complex. |

We've our own kenya authors (like prof ngungi) and movie industry - but like in Naija - they are so far and in between - we should not seriously be taking about. It like discussing davido or whoever najia pop idol is. It totally whack! Entertainment industry? as part of GDP I still chuckle at the Nigeria Stats Office. What next - witchcraft and black art -? Talk about serious stuff. Tell us why Nigeria despite '500'B usd doesn't look like Kenya. Leave alone South Africa or Egypt. Why is it looking really whack like a country that just emerged from war? Kenyans can go die of jealousy. Nigeria is above you in every sector. If you have problem with GDP please ask IMF and world Bank. If we decide not to collect tax at all its our problem. Kenyans can't even compare to Ghana not to talk of Nigeria. Kenyans will never boast of the infrastructure in Nigeria in the next 20 years. 1 Like |

Anybaba: Kenya does not pride itself in shedding blood or invasion of neighboring countries but in holding the button of peace. The Somali invasion was the hardest decision Kenya ever made but was necessary due to the incessant attacks by radicalized Al shabbab in Kenyan territory. The reason was to establish a strong Somali people led government and establish peace. The formation and birth of South Sudan was conceived in Kenya, the Somalia government was established in Nairobi, all the refugees are housed in Kenya. Kenya is meant to be a haven for the downtrodden, not a violator. 2 Likes |
