When contacted, Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Dr Austin Tam George, said he had no information about the project.

Hmmmm, it's an issue o. What's the fate of shortlisted candidates from Rivers State, cos nothing is really happening.

The govt promised that they are going to employ 500,000 volunteer teachers for a contract of two years after which they will give way for another set.

They reduced it to 150,000 volunteer teachers to start work in October, later to December and now there is still no green light. When would the second batch be taken

Baba, na 3 million jobs annually you promised us. Not all these 2 years volunteer nonsense. We won't accept this.

Did I hear someone said he is happy to get that contract job after 12 years of been unemployed shocked shocked

It's really possible but he should gone for intern, even if it's without pay. I didn't waste time when the big bucks didn't come rolling. 9 months after my POP, I got a teaching job even though it wasn't my profession but skills acquired during NYSC helped. I was paid N7,500 per month so there was no need for me to be idle. Do you know what idleness can do to someone's brain? I'm not doubting the guy but he should have engaged himself rather than waiting for an opportunity to tell the whole world about his 12 years. Haba bros, check am now. E no make sense at all. angry

N30,000 monthly for graduates or anyone is nauseating and shameless. It is a slap on the face of an oil blessed nation and should be rejected by citizens.
The least paid worker (any job) in USA earns more than that in 2 days @ the rate of minimum $7.50/hour. (8hr work day).

Nigeria is leaderless.
The people are yellow-belied or simply unworthy to inhabit the God given space of a country called Nigeria.

Blinded, ignorant, weak graduates inspite of access to world happenings via internet.
Disgusting shame.

You're actually qualified to remain unemployed
Or take over the reins of government and become leaders today not tomorrow, which apparently hasn't come. Nobody but yourself can free your motherland of 56yrs and counting from the shackles and tyranny of political, economic, social, welfare, religious falsehoods, pretense and bondage.

Arise and start living Now!

Cry the forsaken country.

Blessed be.

I'm sorry but this scheme is a waste of funds. The scheme will gulp almost 150 billion naira in salary alone for the first 200000 people for the first two years. When the remaining 300000 join,it will cost another 200 billion naira for two years salary alone. This is a country where 22 million youths between the age of 15 and 34 are either unemployed or under employed. This is a country where 10 million children are out of school. Yet so much is being spent for cheap political promises. Is this the best we can do with 300 billion naira ? To employ 500000 for Two years out of 22 million youths? Surely this is another amnesty/surep in the making. Throwing money at the problem to look good
If you were called for the npower program, I congratulate you. It is your time to enjoy from the national cake like amnesty and sure p people. This won't solve anything

We have some fundamental problems in this country.

Synergy within Government (from Federal to LGA's) and...

Continuity between Governments.

Imagine...

"Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mr. Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti, told the Daily Trust, he had not been briefed and wouldn’t want to speculate on the programme."

Which way Naija?
Nna eeh,the communication channel bw d tiers of govt these days is something else. God will help us.

Suleiman, who had been unemployed since graduating from the university 12 years ago, said his initial joy of making the shortlist of successful candidates was gradually fading because of the seeming uncertainty.

For 12 years, Obasanjo, Yar'Adua and Goatluck Jonathan all of PDP made him jobless and turned his destiny upside down. Now, the people's general is here to salvage his already rusted memory, but he can't be patient enough to listen to instructions and directions. I think he should go back to his joblessness.

Organization has always been one of Nigeria's biggest problems.

Fire brigade approach and shoddy preparations has always been our trademark.

To think that this so called N-POWER of a program was billed to take off by AUGUST 2016!

Four months later, it is still the same old story.

Shame! lipsrsealed

I know of graduate that earn less than 10,000 naira monthly..
