KenyaMan111:

Poverty has risen in Nigeria, with almost 100 million people living on less than a $1 (£0.63) a day, despite economic growth, statistics have shown.

Unsurprisingly the numbers are still rising. I thought Nigeria might've finally slipped into degeneracy. In all seriousness, if it gets really bad there. We Kenyans are more than happy to set up a UN-Nigeria food delivery.
There is poverty in Nigeria, almost 100million is an exaggeration, various factors constitute to it such as inequality, corruption, different standard of living but I owe you no explanation because you're stucked to your delusional imaginations and that's the most you can know.....

@your UNN sarcasm, poverty is definitely not all about food, Kenya can NOT even be a recourse talk less of last.
Those living in abject poverty in your country needs it more.

A NIGERIANS OPINION OF STAYING IN KENYA

A Short Comparison between Nigerians and Kenyans

Written by Niyi Onifade
Published: 26 May 2012

In my last post, I told you about what I was doing in Mombasa. We’re now back in Nairobi, having successfully ended our Corporate Governance training course in that coastal city yesterday afternoon.
Everyone in the country is now worried about the spate of cyber crimes in Kenya. That’s an arm of the notorious 419 that has become a common phenomenon in Nigeria. But listen to the kind of money they talk about around here to be shocked! They talk about some few thousands or millions of shillings stolen by some bad guys. They seem not to know that our own people have since graduated into stealing billions and trillions of naira.

Oh yes, bad things are happening in Kenya. They have their “Al Shabaab” wahala just the way we also have our Boko Haram stigma in Nigeria. The only difference is that the “Al Shabaab” guys throw grenades at people and run away, while our “Boko Haram” plant heavy bombs and die along with their victims. Can you spot the difference? Yet, the government of Kenya is not leaving any stone unturned to fish out the grenade-happy boys of the country.

In spite of the bad things that are happening in this beautiful East African nation, I am thrilled that the citizens are so proud of their country. In fact, they are celebrating a number of things. For instance, we were told that:

-The Kenya Police authority can now be contacted via Twitter and they will respond swiftly;
-Kenyans now obtain their passports electronically within a period of seven days;
-A number of government offices now open from 7am to 7pm;
-Farmers now obtain information about crops and soil condition in their areas electronically;
And many more…

Almost every Kenyan also has confidence in the country’s legal system. You only need to listen to them discussing labour law, tenancy law and others. They believe that any issue can be satisfactorily resolved at any court of law in their country.

The point is that corrupt practices are actually being reported the more…which is a good thing for THE country.” Just look at that: Sounds like wonderful patriotism.
There are also temperamental and cultural differences between the two. For instance, to most Kenyans, Nigerians appear to be incurable braggarts and showoffs. Pretty much the same way Ethiopians view us kenyans. Our culinary habits are different. Our sensibilities are different.

Also, there are a good number of places in Nairobi where you can find a group of Nigerians renting an entire block of flats(and only emerging at night! ), whereas i am cocksure i would never find the same anywhere in Nigeria with regards to Kenyans. Shows you which place is the better to live in.

Before I take a break - so Najia can re-post their slum city one or two pictures - with horrendous resolution.

Lets pay tribute to West Gate mall that was under seize by terrorist and has been restored back.
Westgate was bombed by KDF in bid to smoke out the terrorist...

And today it back to what it was.

Before

Terrorism after-math.

Restored.

sympathize with the guy. Finding a nice picture (without slum in the background) from their cities is a real struggle - just like getting reliable 24-hrs water and electricity. Where all the oil money ends up is big mystery. Naija folks seem to have got tired and are now sabotaging pipelines..and now Angola has overtaken them. Luanda will definitely overtake Nairobi in 10-15yrs. Luanda and Angola in just 10yrs - have outdone Nigeria.

EABL vs NBPLc

EABL has installations in 6 countries in East and Southern Africa but sells it's products (mostly Tusker) as far as US and Australia

Nigerian Breweries pls service West Africa.

TKO EABL wins.

Nakumatt vs Silver Birds group

-Nakumatt and Uchumi the 2 largest retailers from Kenya have operations in 6 (mostly East African) countries

Africa. Silverbird also possesses the largest cinema chain in West Africa with several locations in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo and Accra, Ghana and Kenya. grin

TKO Nakumatt wins in

Uchumi (27 stores in Kenya) vs Addide (37 stores in Nigeria)

As you can see Addide is the winner.
If you're talking about branches, Tuskys has 50 branches in Kenya alone while Addide has 37. Uchumi on the other hand has has bigger money since half of its outlets are in gigantic malls while Addide owns mostly medium to large sized outlets to cater for the powerful lower middle class
