Those pilots deserve to be sacked.They can't eat their cake and have it.
There was disparity in the salaries being collected by the Nigerian pilots and their foreign counterparts ( a situation I personally condemned,which was why I was happy when they fought for equalization of their pay). I learnt that before Bristow management acceded to their demands,they made it clear to both the Nigerian and foreign pilots that equalizing their pay ( which they termed PARITY) would result to an overloaded wage bill, especially as they had lost some contracts to a rival company, that to pay parity therefore, there would be pilots rationalization aka dem go sack some pilots (both foreign and Nigerian) also that the remaining ones would have to fly for more hours :AND THEY SAID NO WAHALA , WE AGREE,JUST PAY US PARITY
Then the management painfully increased all Nigerian pilots salaries with up to 200% with some of them now earning over 3 million naira monthly. Then there came the sack of both oyinbo and naija pilots to reduce wage bill, some oyinbo pilots even resigned, saying they couldn't do the additional shift.
Now the naija pilot started flexing extra level, doing things,,,,,,,,,,,, then all of a sudden e come dey pain the ones wey dem sack and they called their colleagues who were not sacked and were like "chaiiii na all of us fight for this parity nahhhhh, why dem con sack us leave una naaaaah, Abeg make una help us do something nahhh.I know of one or two instances in a club where this type of gist went down,then three weeks down the line,they had connived with the so-called NAAPE to hold the company to ransom .Arrant nonsense.
Na BHNL management wey no get liver me dey blame,let them go and try this rubbish with Arik.
You can't eat your cake and have it still, BHNL pilots are arguably the best paid commercial pilots in Nigeria presently and to do this for them,the management had to shed weight, so if they love their colleagues so much and want them back, they should propose to management to revert to their old salary scale and let it apply to the oyinbo said as well or the ones not sacked should face their work and enjoy their loot and allow the ones sacked to go look for work elsewhere.Such is life

What is the sense in sacking Nigerian pilots and engineers only to import foreigners and pay them higher.

There are lots of qualified Nigerians who are looking for jobs in the aviation industry and Bristow is employing foreigners while sacking Nigerian pilot and engineers to create room for foreigners.

This is an insult to Federal Republic of Nigeria.

@myself if you don't know what happend pls be quiet. Despite the redundacy that happened to both nationals and expatriate the expatriate quota is still ratio 2 to 1 in favour of the expats.

In a nut shell there was no need for redundancy if the so called experts still makes up for majority of the work force at Bristow Helicopters. What happened to to the expatriate quota allowed in Nigeria?

Where as, we have hundreds of pilots and engineers that are been graduated from the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology every two years still looking for jobs.

Less I forget there are 20 licensed engineers trained by Bristow that are working right now but with no contract.

Guy do you know that after the so called redundacy other pilots and engineers were recruited. So who is fooling who?
