Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 10:31pm On Dec 01, 2016 |
staggerlee: I think what he's trying to say is world university ranking according to who? We have world university ranking according to Qs, webometics, timeshighereducation, oxford etc which one you talking among them. He gave valid link according to "timeshighereducation" showing UCT among top 200, so show yours that prove UCT is not among top 200. I think you should be able to comprehend Simple ABC as a Professional you're. 3 Likes |

staggerlee: I agree with @staggerlee ... Its amazing how someone who is applying for a post graduate degree does NOT know how to write a sponsorship letter. South Africa has become very competitive and policies from home affairs change constantly you have to learn to work within the system He shared an opinion most of us have here, its hard to fathom how our fellow Nigerians do not properly carry out research before coming here. For someone who has an honours degree and masters degree from a South African institution, the advice I got here has been very benefical to my success. This is no paradise. Its all about hard work, patience and faith. We are here to help each other so do I do not like it when some does not appreciate such advise . |

Nulasco: 1.From the link below we will see that it is only the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking that is 2016. THE ranked UCT outside 200. Other ranking bodies are not as recent https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rankings_of_universities_in_South_Africa 2. According to QS ranking, they ranked UCT 191 in 2016 using the 2015 academy year. http://www.topuniversities.com/node/294601#wur 3. According to Center for World University Ranking (CWUR), its only Wits that is ranked in top 200 http://cwur.org/2016.php But there is an aggregate score world recruiting bodies use, for example there is a program in Netherlands, were Postgraduate degree holders from top 200 universities in the world can live and work in Netherlands, no university in SA is recognised in the scheme. But previously, UCT and Witts were there |

HankVoight: Honestly the truth is hard to swallow, Schools in SA are on the down slide because of regular protests and strikes. SA is fast losing academics to other schools. If you check the business schools now, because they have to stay afloat, they have reduced entry criteria example is GSB of UCT. Most schools now don't have date of resumption for 2017 as at December 1st 2016. How can they even have, when some schools will only complete 2016 calendar in 2017. After all said and done, the decision lies in the hands of each and everyone to decide. I just give my view but seems my view is becoming irritating to a lot of people here. I will end this in pidgen english, "wetin we see wey carry us stay for southie, we no dey see am again" |

HankVoight: I think we've been through the first paragraph. Some people on this thrend ask questions they themselves already know or already discussed but just ask for asking sake. If they do or don't someone else would answer here perfectly, its normal. I'm still finding it hard to understand how your last two paragraphs is relevant to this constructive discussion. We all know no safe haven anywhere. Are you talking about carrying on research before coming to study or as sort of greener pastures? The latter would be ignorance cos they all know Unemployment in SA is on the high scale. To give you a prove an average Nigerian consider SA as a Last choice, go check the USA,UK,Canada thrend you would see how many pages it has gone compared to this with less than 300. About the study issue I don't understand why you guys think everybody going to SA to study is trying to stay and hussle it out through getting PR etc. My Bro finished his Phd @wits 2010 when SA unemployment hasn't gone on a high scale and less competitive but still came back to pick a lecturing Job at UI. I was a frequent traveller to SA 2014/2015, some friends I knew then finished from SA schools came back and got work in NIgeria within a month. Some moved to canada and the likes. ...in essence people migrating to SA already know the stake and many may still succeed after regardless. That's it. 2 Likes |

staggerlee: Fee protest started far back Sept/Oct 2015, there were some protest action earlier this year still no valid ranking body omit SA univ among top 200 either UCT or wits is there. Recently on 30th Nov the Ecominc University Rankinv ranked UCT wits among Top 10 university in BRCIES country. Atleast they're still being ranked high amidst the protests. http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/2016/11/30/UCT-and-Wits-in-the-top-10-universities-in-BRICS-countries Now Case closed in this argument of saying no SA schools among top 200 again. Has that was clearly what Processor01 was arguing about. You have no valid reference for prove. All your sources were still among 200 till date. So what are we saying? Your last paragraph is Invalid has you weren't advising people to go for their postgraduate in the Top 200 schools in the world. You emphasis was just on Western Country Universities. I can just go to American University Washington now that's not even among top 500 and even Stellenbosch,Uwc,Up,Uwc,Uj,Ukzn,Dut,UL beats it. #Case Dismissed 6 Likes |

Some people like making mountain out of mole hill and belittling/discouraging others is there hobby. They are the ones who will tell you not to go to SA schools but they would be collecting money from others to do it for them (that's their means of livelihood anyway). They will tell you that there is no job in SA but they are making a living there. My people, do not allow anyone to discourage you. That which you have set your mind to do, do it. If you succeed you will be glad. If u fail, u have a story to tell and lesson to learn. The guy never asked anyone to construct a letter for him. He only demanded to be directed on the supposed content of the letter which someone happily did with 2 samples. Many have asked their ways to success through this forum (Seun be blessed)... So bro, never stop asking even the silliest of questions, there will always be someone to attend to you and if you don't get an answer, ask again. anyone who doesn't like your question should either ignore or say rubbish at his or her peril. MY QUESTION: how much is a cup of egusi in SA 7 Likes |

HankVoight:.I didn't want to make comment on this until I saw your comments .This is absolutely wrong .The guy didn't ask someone to write the research proposal or sponsorship letter .He needed the format not for you guys to insult him .The purpsose of this forum is help people achieve their aims not destroy their dreams .Atimes we need to be careful with our negative attitude .Sponsorship letter is not love letter . 3 Likes |

EUGENE846: When people say the reality on this thread, it is termed as "discouragment". The opportunities a lot of us have are no more or its harder now and that's the reason, a lot of us our parents married in their 20s and built houses in their 30s, but if your father tells you don't marry before you are ok financially and you are 28 without a job, is this discouragment? No, it just shows that the opportunities then are no more available now. Our fathers could marry without a steady income, try it now! Like I say, because I make money from a sector will not make me say the truth, people call me from this thread and I assist even though I make cheese from them, but I also tell them the gospel truth about sa. That said, anyone can blow (make money) in any part of the world. You can blow in a recessed economy like Nigeria, in a shrinking economy of SA also you can fail in the best economies of usa, china or germany. Ones blessings are not tied to a geographical region. Have seen people come to SA and failed and got back to Naija and blew |

What he to do is to state in his inteoduction letter i that he's self employed, but the important thing is that he need to use a banks statement that is been run for 6months, i mean cash should be coming in regularly and going out and the that he's good to go. I leave the rest to the Guru in the house Khez: 1 Like |
