We both know that lecturers do not award more than C grade to their student girlfriends. some lecturers don't even give marks to the students they sleep with. Some lecturers will even continue to fail the girls they sleep with so that they ll not graduate in record time and therefore continue to sleep with them . However, some ladies sleep with their lecturers for the fun of it and not necessarily because of marks. There' no way a Lady can sleep her way to make first-class without being brilliant. I wonder how she ll graduate with first class with C grades and a lot of carryovers......

Good news from NBTE and Ministry of Education. To Punch Newspaper it is our prayer that your pen will never run dry.
A good attempt at sanitising our Education Institutions. However, it is important to note that this investigation should be extended to all the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in this country.
The National University Commission, Ministry of Education, ICPC should make available an easy way to report the men of shaded characters and the women of easy virtues in our schools and device appropriate punishment for violating rules.
A comprehensive investigation of the various higher institutions in Nigeria will probably reveal the Auchi Polytechnic is probably a joke when compared to some Universities in this country.
It is now over to NUC and Ministry of Education hoping they will act swiftly? I can't just help thinking about how the leadership of NBTE accomplish this task without being compromised. Perhaps they should conduct a comprehensive investigation of all Polytechnics in the country, device a better monitoring and reporting mechanisms to prevent reoccurrence and if NUC fail to emulate this good step, they should be helped by NBTE and Ministry of Education to investigate our Universities.

Have witness the act by one of such foolish lecturers while still in Uni when a *hornyy* lecturer call one of my female course mates and she set her phone on loudspeaker so i can hear their conversation lol. This was a no nonsense lecturer we all fear in school, but was suprise to how he humble himself calling his female student on the phone, asking the lady to come right away down to his office so they can "continue the discussion", she lie that she's not in school and he drop the call. I later come to understand what he mean by "continue the discussion" when she disclose to me its all about konji things which he promise to grade good scores in his course in exchange for konji which she kept refusing to comply. Poor lecturer no just gree leave babe.

That's one good thing about northern schools. They don't take nonsense. If ever a student reports such case, investigation begins and next thing is Sack if the lecturer is found guilt. At least, 3 lecturers were sacked during my degree programme: one was caught having sex with his student in his office, the other one (a Pakistani) was exploiting students by just collecting about 5h or 1k to sell photocopies of his note to students (claiming they won't pass if they don't buy it since he'll use the names to mark the exam) - both were from Maths dept in ABU. Can't recall what the red guy did.

Nice move, but most of these female students resume every semester with the intention of "blocking" (as it is called over there) with cash or a@$, i remember as far back as 2004 some students would proudly tell you they came with 20k for "blocking" this semester and the so called class reps were the go-between men for the lecturers. I feel students who approach lecturers for such should also be punished.

I just hope Dr JD Udonene , Mr Chuks, Eng. Ohikhena , all of whom were in polymer department in 2003 are involved ? Those guys are criminals , especially Udone and Chuks. Ohikhena is still somehow moderate . Udone and Chuks deliberately fail students in order to compel them to offer sex or pay some money .

They would still not learn.

Pls let other higher institution bodies emulate nd enforce such action in our various institutions nd of learning.

I am a living witness of what traspired back then in d institution(Auchi poly)I graduated frm the institution exactly 10 years ago from the Department of Accountancy whch is d worst and most corupt deptment of the said institution.Despite my brilancy and all sorts,I graduated with poor grade all in the name that I didn't have money to block(bribe)those jetsam set of people called themselves lecturers whom their generations wil surely be doomed.
I could recollect vividly well that the gal that had d best result(grade)in my set,could nt even spelt her name.A distinction student who could stil omit a letter from her name.The lady was called BLESSING,but she could nt spell the name right,She did write it as BLESING instead.She had distinction with dat porous brain of hers.
Eventually,those who were sound and had no money is No NO for them.The damaged caused by those lecturers in my life,could nt be solved til date in my certificate.Though I have moved on despite that,but I do pray ill prayers for the list lecturers til this morning nt knowing that a thread like is already on fp.They include,Mr Edegbai,Igbinosun,UncleP,Alkalumeh,Eihkoya,Uncle T,Mr friday to mention bt few,but I cannot bt mention some good one among them,the likes off MR Asemota,the two brothers and daddy in d dept.
Note:I cannot forget bt to mention Mr Awiraleh,d most blockable lecturer in Auchi poly,U can block him with even 500naira.
All of them wil reap all they sown.

I really think u shouldn't have mentioned anybody's name and come to think of it how do u know she didn't deserve her grade simply because spelt her name against the way u believe is the correct way to spell. And the lecturers u mentioned if u didn't give blocking or arranged babes for them how can u prove thats how they award grades. Instead I will advise that u look at ur spellings and verb to noun Concord. English is only a language but its what the lecturers mark with. U may not know why u performed poorly. Its common knowledge that average Nigerian students blame lecturers for our laziness

Our correspondent, who was informed by some frustrated current and ex-students of the situation, had written the report detailing how female students of Auchi poly were mandated to sleep with their male lecturers before they could pass their courses.

But for the male students, because they are sexually unattractive to the lecturers, the only way to bail out was to hire prostitutes or beg their girlfriends to sleep with the concerned lecturers on their behalf in order to pass their courses.

The report also narrated how some of the lecturers preferred to accept cash — ranging from N10,000 to N20,000 per course — rather than sex, to award grades.

Our correspondent learnt that the Executive Secretary, NBTE, Dr. Masa’udu Adamu-Kazaure, swung into action soon after the report and constituted a fact-finding committee to investigate the claims.

By June 14, 2016, our correspondent learnt that the NBTE committee had concluded its investigations and found out that the sex-for-marks tradition had become entrenched in the institution, prompting the Federal Government to relieve the identified lecturers of their duties and demoted some others.

These disciplinary actions were announced on Thursday, December 1, 2016 by Adamu-Kazaure in Kaduna, the NBTE headquarters.

According to Adamu-Kazaure, five senior lecturers and seven other workers at the Auchi Polytechnic were sacked for offences bordering on sexual harassment and extortion of female students in the school.

Fifteen other lecturers and one instructor were also demoted in relation to the same offences.

Adamu-Kazaure said the decision was endorsed by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

Commending Saturday PUNCH “for a job well done,” Adamu-Kazaure said, “When we saw the report, we promptly informed the Minister of Education, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Department of State Services and constituted a fact-finding committee with a view to getting to the root of the matter and proffering a lasting solution to the problem.

“Members of the committee included members of staff from the Federal Ministry of Education, the NBTE, the EFCC and the DSS.”

He said the report of the committee was submitted on June 14, 2016 at the 160th Regular Meeting of the NBTE where it was deliberated upon before being sent to the Minister of Education for approval.

The outcome of the committee’s report, he explained, was the dismissal and the termination of the appointments as well as other disciplinary actions taken against the culpable lecturers and workers of the institution.

He said, “The approval involved the dismissal from service of the polytechnic of two chief lecturers, two principal lecturers and one lecturer I.

“Also, four chief lecturers, one principal lecturer, one lecturer I, one lecturer II and one higher technician had their appointments terminated.

“The honourable minister also approved the demotion of one chief lecturer, four principal lecturers, three senior lecturers, three lecturer I, four lecturer II and one senior instructor.

“One chief lecturer, one principal lecturer I and one lecturer III were warned; while a chief lecturer and one senior technologist were advised on good conduct.

“Two senior lecturers were cautioned, an assistant lecturer is to be mentored; one National Diploma student is to be advised, while another student, Gideon Adaengel, is denied admission into the polytechnic.”

Meanwhile, Adamu-Kazaure thanked Saturday PUNCH for putting the board, committee and the management of the institution on their toes to perform their statutory function better.

“I will write a letter commending The PUNCH editor,” he added.

I am writing this because 1) I believe you are smart and 2) I wonder how you came to the conclusion that most of them can't defend their first class degrees. Are you kidding me? If you would not resort to name calling, and if you can intelligently show me an objective study to back your 'most of them cannot defend their class, I will believe you. Otherwise, please be careful how you talk. The first class ladies I know, even 2:1, they are all very, very, very sound..

It amazes me how certain people try to rubbish a first class, what? First class that is an impressive undergraduate achievement anywhere in the world!! I agree that the number of first class has increased, but that does not warrant some people to try and rubbish the achievements of people who have it, ladies in particular as per this convo. If I had not tried hard but couldn't get it, perhaps I might belong to the camp of those who just say anything about about first class degrees..But I, and am sure many others, know how challenging it is to make such a degree, and such achievement must never be rubbished.

All the first class people I know, including ladies, are very sound and good at their crafts. In fact, I respect them.


By the way, if you know any lady or guy with a first class and who hopes to get into a school like Cambridge, Oxford or Princeton, please have the, email me...Something can work, though no guarantees..The person must have things like certificate, transcript and references ready!

I am not discrediting your experience and really empathize with you, but to cast aspersion at her distinction, I think it's only fair to state that she was really poor in the field where she made the distinction. Name spelling and first class/distinction in accounting have little correlation, although it is bad for a distinction candidate to be poor at spelling, more so his/her name, but not being able to spell properly in a course like accounting has little or causation with making or not making a distinction.

The issue many people have always had with some accounting students, including the excellent ones, and also some mathematics students, is their inability to write, spell or speak well...But that does not stop them from being excellent in their main courses. I have seen so many examples in this life, and I have been around for a while.

Again, I empathize with you. It's bad to fail good students who do not have money to bribe. Thank God, that's about stopping at Auchi Poly. Unfortunately, it is the brave people like you that have been made to pay the price years ago.

Hmmm, I am somewhat interested in this your story. You mean, she copied in all her courses to have been able to make a distinction? You mean no one lecturer of integrity at the department of acc at Auchi? You mean examination invigilation is so porous that students are allowed to form Voltron and do whatever they want in the examination hall? Then on your account, a sane thing to be done is to completely close down Auchi poly's acc dept because it is not fit to be called a department. This conclusion is drawn based on your account.

The lecturer is stupid if he choose to treat all his students including the ones that can read,write and pass the same way as the dull ones

The students are super dull if they cant read and pass or hussle money or pussy for the grades
