I see Victor Moses as the ideal replacement of Dani Alves. I see him a perfect fit for Enrique's coaching method. |

Icon4s: I would not dispute your assertions, I have said that the coaching style of English football places greater emphasis on stamina, strength, and team discipline as opposed to skill. Sometimes because of that stringent team structure and discipline you may not see a player's full repertoire of technical ability. Believe you me, Ibe can do more he deserves a call up and let's see him compete you will be pleasantly surprised. His name is Ibe forget all these oyibo were deh spoil ee name, Ibe has turned to Aibe. |

TheGoodJoe: The politics of football is so murky and not clean. I know a U18 player of Nigerian origin scored a hat trick and three assists in a match with the U23's at a premiership side while on trial . Was offered a contract and then it was withdrawn essentially the HOD of recruitment and the Managers preferred agent was not in on the deal. So it simply collapsed, I have too many of these stories. |

goldfish80: Training at the biggest club and playing for them may not necessarily open the door for you. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet take your chance be a man and prove yourself in the open gallery of football. Godwin Ekpolo spent donkey years at Barcelona playing youth football and on the B team, waiting for a chance that never came. He's now playing at Fleetwood Town fc, playing kick and rush protein muscle and stamina football. I don't who is agent is but he will not be able to showcase himself in that team, well at least it's going to find it very very difficult. |

Chrismario: Barca's fullbacks are more like wingbacks they push up alot. Victor Moses would be a perfect fit but i can't imagine chelsea selling him as of now. |

komekn: Godwin Ekpolo's case is a curios one. Although not so surprising, injuries have been a major draw back for the guy. Again, La liga is not a famed for producing top quality "home grown" defenders. The best defenders in La liga are mostly imports who got their education else where. Home grown defenders from La liga usually don't hit the tilt. Osede as promising as he was for Real Madrid B is slugging it out at Bolton in ligue 1. Am happy Uche Agbo is only on loan at Granda. Their production line of midfielders and strikers is top notch but when it comes to defenders, its a bit meeeeh 1 Like |

komekn:Every man and his dog know the English game is not clean. Sam Aladyce's scandal tells just a bit of the entire story. Managers and beuracrats upstairs take bongs from players and agents to push through deals. I wonder how a guy like Harry Rednapp is walking around a free man when all investigations have proven he took bongs from players. He even lied under investigation that he can't read and doesn't know how to use a computer. The English game is as filthy as they come. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:My take on Iheanacho is that he should explore a loan option next summer. He can't afford to be on the bench in a world cup year. Else he will be confined to the bench in Russia. The super Eagles aren't being coached by Eguavoen or the likes anymore. Rohr will have no qualms starting Anichebe, Ideye, Success or anyone who is in form over Iheanacho. 1 Like |

goldfish80: Do you watch La-liga or are one of those EPL fans who have single minded zeal. I Can name at least 20 defenders trained in Spain better than their english counterparts. Pique, Ramos, Puyol , Alba, Baily, Godin, Carvajal,Bartra,Juanfran,Alves,Nacho,Marcelo,Inigo Martinez, salgado,Gaya,Bernat,Azpi,Bellerin,Javi Martinez thats off my head. princesuko:In my post I layed emphasis on the word "home grown" Some of the names you mentioned do not tick that box. Belerin, Pique were educated in England. Marcelo, Godin and Alves spent their formative years in South America. There are very few classy defenders who rose through the rank and file of Spanish football, from the academies without being educated else where. The coaches in Spain spend more time training midfielders and strikers more than they do with defenders. 1 Like |

princesuko: The pace of the game in the premiership is at blistering pace and very physical. Pique came to United and flopped couldn't cope. Not all of these central and wing back defenders will be able to hack it in the Premiership. 1 Like |

When Allardyce was at Bolton his son Craig was an agent and it was an open secret if you wanted in, you knew who you had to deal with. Saying that so also is Ferguson's son so also is David Moyes's brother, so also is Guardiola's brother. Conflicting interests and football is rife and so is corruption. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by komekn(m): 9:03am On Dec 05, 2016 |
goldfish80: You may find this strange and possibly disagree. But I would say it is easier for a premiership team to buy an African youth player with all the intrigue of TPI and cost of transfer fees. Than a homegrown player of African origin without pedigree and no transfer fees. Even when the home grown (UK) player is better. The reason simply Egunje But I think it's also very difficult for a player of Nigerian origin who isn't coming from one of the more established clubs to be considered. Particularly for the U21youth teams and below. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by BascoVanVeli(m): 9:20am On Dec 05, 2016 |
komekn: It might be conflicting intrest but it is not corrupt. A coach does not have the power to tell his brother not to be an agent. The practice might open the door for corruption but on it's own it is not. |

OYIBO WALL – Rohr Lines Up Alternative As Fear Looms Over Game Time For Ekong At Gent There are palpable fears that William Troost-Ekong will struggle to get game time at Belgian side Gent after a successful loan spell in Norway with FK Haugesund. Ekong has been out on loan since joining the Belgian side but he is expected to push for a first team spot after impressing for Haugesund in the recently concluded season in Norway. After a splendid performance for Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics, his regular run of games in Norway where he captained the team to a respectable finish in the league has helped his international career blossomed. The Dutch-born Nigerian defender has formed a formidable partnership with Leon Balogun in the heart of Nigeria defence, a combination that is now known as “Oyibo Wall”. Coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr is reportedly worried that Ekong could be starve off game with Gent, as the back four of Lasse Nielsen, Stefan Mitrovic, Rami Gershon and Nana Asare appears to be untouchable for now. The coach has already advised the 23 year old to switch to a tougher league, but it appears even at Gent he could struggle to get game time when his registration is done in January.
