All you atheists of NL

Throwing all manner of insults at God.

The bottom line of your believe is that there is nothing like supernatural. Abi. That's where you arrived at there is no God.

OK, I will tell you today that your belief takes nothing away from God and adds nothing to Him.
He is too Glorious to be bothered about your belief, so insult Him from now till eternity,

He will not because of that manifest Himself. No

Because that would be like you are tempting Him like Satan tempted Jesus. " If u are the son of God ..."

So you too are saying systematically, " If you exist show up yourself " You can't tempt God.

Now I want to proove to you there is Satan even if you can't believe there is God.

Let's do something.
Write your WILL and give me 50% percent of it. grin if per sdventure you die or become handicapped in the test we are going to do. Like seriously.

If your atheist belief is so genuine and you are 100% sure that there is no Supernatural.

Now we will set a date and there would at least be 10/members of NL in attendance to be eye witness.

Someone let's say a lady will put some phones and some other things in a box and each of the NL atheists will open it and pick one object each after she has gone away. Then the lady comes back nd would ask each one of you who took her things. Please make sure you deny very well and let them call in the Ayelaala worshipers and Shango worshipers to come and find it with their deity.

Since there is no Supernatural you don't need to panic just continue denying that non of you picked anything. Then let us see if there is supernatural or not.

Just make sure you have willed 50% of your properties to me especially those of you I learnt you rake in millions everyday.

And once it is proven there is power of the devil
common sense tells you there is a God in Heaven even though you can't see Him, Smell Him, Touch Him or Hear Him.

Let's set a date for the test.

Enough of telling you there is a God

Let's leave that and proove that there is a Devil.

That will be a lot easier because God hasn't got your time

But I know Satan has got plenty of it. cause he likes to show off that he has power and he would be ready to show you some.

grin grin grin

One of the greatest mystery of the century that man has yet to unravel is the big question of what happens after death.

This question is so mind-boggling that over the years it has been accorded different answers by people from various walks of life.

So far so good, none of the speculations has been confirmed as true. And since no-one has journeyed to the land of the spirits and successfully came back on evidence, I believe I can safely assert from a resolute postion that none hold claims to possession of such knowledge in this regard.

However, for the purpose of the thread, using the Christian religion as a yardstick, let's assume heaven does exist, likewise hell.

Therefore, if heaven really exist, the question follows that what then is the ticket a person must possess in order to become an eligible candidate?

Allow me to quote from the bible at this point.

Matthew 5:20
(King James Version)

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Summarily explaining the above verse, you must be RIGHTEOUS according to God's standard of righteousness.

According to the bible, righteousness is when one is absolutely devoid of sin. And sin can take any form - your physical actions, words and thought.

In conclusion, therefore, you must guard these 3 parts of you from sin so you can be sure of making heaven when the last trumpet sounds.

Now, here's why I believe it's more easier for me to jump into the air, visit the comfort station, have a short picnic and pen a short story while still in mid-air before landing, than for you to eschew sin completely.

I'll shift focus to the mind which is where thoughts are formed, because it is the most difficult of the three things I mentioned to put in check. My keen observation and findings have revealed that the mind, at no given point in time, can ever maintain a pure state in totality. You see a well-endowed damsel while plodding the streets, already you are having ideas. You see someone whom nature cheated facially, you say in your mind without speaking out, "damn! That guy is really ugly."

And. . . . . . . Even if you confess your sins away at church, new ones will take position almost immediately. Even before you breath your last on your death bed, you'd conceive wrong thoughts just in time before you die without wanting to. It's like a reflex action. You cannot hold it to a leash. It just happens. Unless of course you are an inanimate object, but then again, objects have no feelings at all.
It's like someone telling you to keep your eyes open yet instructs that you not look at anything. And then asks you, what do you see?
How does that sound?
"Kukuma" kill me already biko.

And this is close to what God requires from us. The sheer complication and complexity of it all. Trying to think this through can just drive a person insane.

ALSO, the biblical God exhibits a system of rule I'd like to term "arbitrary", where he solely determines the do's and don'ts.

Come to think of it, even emperors, kings, queens, rulers, in a fair system, are subject to the laws they use to govern their subordinates. If and when they (these rulers), fall short, they are confronted with those set laws.

But amazingly, It's forbiddingly not so in God's case. He's all supreme. You cannot challenge nor question his decisions. What he says is final. Yet God prides himself fairer than all.

Okay, imagaine if our dear president, Muhammadu Buhari is the God we are talking about, just try to picture what would happen. . .

Here's what I surmised:

- Fulani Herdsmen would kill thousands with boundless impunity.

- Favouritism will be the norm.

- He could send lightening to strike you for criticising him on social media even.

I hope now, after some sober reflection, the implications have dawned on you? Are you kidding me? We would be done for in that event.

Lastly, even though you somehow manage to scale through the hurdle of sin, which I think is a dead impossible feat to achieve, there's still the inescapable problem of the big bad guy having to conclude your final fate.

My dear ladies and gentlemen, the above reasons are why I strongly suggest that we do away with the thought that heaven is "makeable".

It's either this Christian God never wanted us to share his paradise with him in the first place, or he's plain confused, or we are his little experiment to fight boredom, [b]or
it's high time we started acknowledging that everything about the Christian religion is indeed what it rightly is - nothing more than a fictitious sensational tale intended to thrill but was rather badly written.
u cnt enter into the kingdom of God wit law even u keep all d law wit out faith u cnt enter into d kingdom of God,bt leave in spirit for God is a spirit wit faith,it Dan u can enter d kingdom of God,concerning thought of mind wen u are In spirit even if a girl is nicked in ur front u wnt process bad thought in ur mind rather u will say God forgive her, kingdom of God is nt by power or might bt by grace lord Jesus av giving to us.stop tinking it Impossible to enter Into d kingdom of God,wen u leave in spirit it will b easy for ur thought will b feel wit word of God shalom.

Nope. You guys are just being dishonest. But deep down you know what I'm saying is nothing but the gospel truth. You may not feel inclined to agree to that simply because you don't wanna lose face in front of your brothers.

Are you a theist now? I've stumbled on some of your posts in the past. Thought you were an atheist. Why is that?

I disagree. What you are saying is nowhere near the gospel truth. You base your conclusions on fallible assumptions which, if you were to study scripture properly, you would find were false.

From your op and subsequent comments, you seem to think that it is the act of sinning that gets me into hell, therefore if one live a holy life but sins at the last minute he goes to hell.

That is not Jesus' position at all. The sin the whole world is guilty of and will be judged on is the sin of not accepting Jesus as Lord and not lying, usual adultery or even murder. See John 16:8-9.

When this sin is forgiven I.e. When an individual becomes born again, then he becomes the righteousness of God IN Christ. See 2 Cor. 5:21. This is what Naijadeyhia was alluding to. Jesus' death paid for all our sins so that we now have a rightstanding I.e. Righteousness with God.
Jesus has forgiven the world of sin. When we refuse his forgiveness, that is the sin that sends people to hell. Considering what it cost God to accomplish this, refusing Jesus' sacrifice is like a slap in the face.

Now what happens when a Christina, who is already the righteousness of God sins? He is forgiven. Not on the basis of his good works but on the basis of the blood sacrifice of Jesus. In 1 John 1 which was written to Christians and discusses the subject, there is a fair level of acceptance that believers sin but it is also clear that all that need happen is an immediate confessions and such sins is already forgiven.

I hope this makes sense to you. I believe it should if you read it with an open mind. I would hate to think your op was just an excuse for needless debate rather than a true quest for sound bible teaching

Mathew 19:25-26

25 When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

has anyone ever thought of the fact that if Nigeria constitution/justice system is like God own, all Nigerians will simply be in life-jail

yet as bad as my country is: it never see me as jail worthy (I've never committed any serious offense)

it provides different levels of punishment to different level of offence and exempt minors from jail punishment

unlike God who will put a serial rapist, terrorist and murderer together with a fifteen year old who simply lie to her mother
threatened children with fire (my Sunday school teacher weekly obsession)

according to God constitution we and our corrupt politicians deserve same hell

God/Yahweh/Allah constitution and justice system is the most anti human and simply delusional

I don't understand why Christian pretend about this terrifying fact

The righteousness that was talked about is the righteousness of Christ. We are made righteous through Christ not by our works.

OP,the righteousness Jesus was talking of is not of works,It is by faith in Christ.
"I do not frustrate the Grace of God,for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain"(Galatians 2:21)
Righteousness means having right standing with God and it is not of works but by faith in Christ.
"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness"(Romans 10:4)
See how one can be made righteous:
"But to him who does not work but believes on him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness"(Romans 4:5)

For me to dwell on this issue in order to disabuse your mind, i would like to ask if you accept the existence of God, Heaven and Hell.
Your answers to these would be gemain to understanding the clues to the riddle you've posed.

But in the meantime, let me borrow you my basic approach to life vis-a-vis the issue at hand perhaps you may find it useful - "I would rather live my life as if there is God, heaven and hell only to die and discover they do not exist, than to live my life as if there is no God, heaven and hell only to discover they exist because then, it would be too late to make amends.

I pray God should open your inner and spiritual eyes to know and understand what heaven is about.

heaven is not a place for jokers, heaven no be beans, heaven is not meant for unserious minded people, heaven is a serious business which you have to ask for God's Grace because it's not by power nor by might.

if you study the criteria to make heaven you 'll discover that you need higher level of God's grace and mercies to make heaven.

Jesus told us in the book of Matthew 5:48 KJV
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

You can't continue to live a normal life and say that you want to make heaven, how many of you here, imagined you are standing on your right and you got slapped in the midst of a conversation not even an argument and then you turn your other ear to the same person to give you another hot slap, well maybe 1 out of 10,000. In the physical realm it's abnormal but in the spiritual realm it's normal.

or how many of you here can pluck out one of his or her own eyes if they make you to commit sins?
You see why you need to surrender now to Jesus to help you control your life.
heaven's grade is always 100/100 or nothing less, not even 99% Pass, that is why you have to live a blameless and a perfect life.

My friend Heaven is real and is for God's own people, hell fire is real and is burning hard every seconds.

The first step you must take if you want to make heaven is that you must be saved, how can you be saved? you must be born again, you must surrender your life to Jesus.
God bless y you ou as you do so.

Plz let's be careful of the kind of message we post about heaven, by not causing damages to people's faith and believers race to heaven.

Jesus loves you.

Truly there is life after death.First here is an example, take five seeds and throw into water whichever sinks you take it and plant give it 2weeks and see the power of God.then take a remnant and man or animal eg bone, meat or anything and throw into water and see what happens does it float or sink?truly there is life and death and the catalyst for that reaction is simply water.

Thats is not the explanation of Mathew 5:20. Lets go back and read from verse 17

Matt. 5:17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.
Matt. 5:18 “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Matt. 5:19 “Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matt. 5:20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus was speaking to the crowd in response to the Pharisees' accusation that Jesus was trying to abolish the Law of God. Jesus refuted this accusation, saying that His purpose in appearing before men was not to abolish anything. Rather, Jesus came to fulfill the Law. The word fulfill in Greek is pleroo, which is also translated "to complete." In other words, Jesus came to complete or accomplish the entire Law.

He goes on to say that heaven and earth will not pass away until the entire Law of God has been accomplished. Jesus is the One Who accomplishes God's Law by keeping the entire Law perfectly. Jesus never sinned during His earthly life, and so as He went to His death on the cross, He had accomplished or completed all the requirements of God's Law. Jesus was referring to His completing of the Law when on the cross He said, "It is finished."

The Pharisees were accusing Jesus of setting the Law aside, while they endeavored to keep it in their own power. Jesus condemned the Pharisees and anyone else who tried to follow their example by saying that unless they could keep the Law even better than the Pharisees kept it, they could not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. This was a daunting challenge, because the Pharisees were scrupulous followers of the Law. If the Pharisees didn't have enough righteousness on their own to enter Heaven, then who could?

Obviously, Jesus was alluding to that answer. No one can earn their way into Heaven, because no one is righteous enough to make it through works. This is precisely why Jesus came to fulfill the Law on our behalf, so that His perfect work could be credited to us on the basis of faith.

Now that the Law has been completed by Jesus on our behalf, we are no longer obligated to keep it ourselves. That is not to suggest that the Law itself has gone away, but only that our obligations to keep it is gone, because Jesus has already kept (i.e., fulfilled, completed, accomplished) it for us. Likewise, anyone who discounts the importance of God's Word will suffer loss.

Jesus is the One Who kept and taught the Law, and as a result, Jesus will be the One Who is called great in the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt 5:19). Believers are not to follow the Law out of obligation, Rather, we teach that the Law has been fulfilled by Christ's work, and we rest in His perfect accomplishment of the Law rather than in our own futile efforts to keep it.

Explained above

1 Corinthians 9:26-27
Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

If men can discipline themselves PURPOSEFULLY purging the mind of sinful thoughts is extremely easy. It is only an already perverse mind that would find this impossible or a struggle which is why the very foundation to everything is as explained above the RIGHTEOUSNESS IN CHRIST. If your foundation is not Righteous then every other product will not be. Sweet water cannot come from a bitter source. Corn cannot bring forth yam.

Are you an ex catholic? Only catholics believe in confessions in church or to Priests. True believers housing the Holy spirit in them speak with God anywhere anytime and can repent anywherew anytime so your position is wrong

Like i already said, only an already perverse mind would see it as complicated and complex. A humble PURPOSEFUL soul sees it as a life which he or she has been freely given and expected to TRAIN and BECOME.

This is solely your perspective! There is no arbitrariness with God as all He does has a purpose to it. He does not need those laws but put them in place for you IN PURPOSE. Earthly finite rulers cannot be used as a descriptive comparison with Divine infinite God.

If you were to be an ANT and i an ELEPHANT would you say you could see further or see more abundantly or be able to take in the bigger picture better than i could?

[s]Okay, imagaine if our dear president, Muhammadu Buhari is the God we are talking about, just try to picture what would happen. . .

Here's what I surmised:

- Fulani Herdsmen would kill thousands with boundless impunity.

- Favouritism will be the norm.

- He could send lightening to strike you for criticising him on social media even.
[/s]
I hope now, after some sober reflection, the implications have dawned on you? Are you kidding me? We would be done for in that event.

Tautology! If you scale through the hurdle of Sin then you would not be condemned!

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Again solely your opinion! I think you need to do more research to find out if the tales found in the Bible are fictitious or not because clearly you have not. Even Seun agrees to PARTS of the bible being TRUE. This is why i said this is SOLELY your opinion.

Now if you are quite done can we move on to something else?
Three words for you.. GOD BLESS YOU

it's high time we started acknowledging that everything about the Christian religion is indeed what it rightly is - nothing more than a fictitious sensational tale intended to thrill but was rather badly written.

You didn't do justice to the question I posed in the slightest. Your response is far below the belt, far far below what I was expecting.

You only went about gathering the harvested wheats together with the tares in the process of aiming to counter my assertions, lumping everything together in a violent conflagaration and ended up destroying everything, losing out woefully on both sides.

Most of what you wrote up there are not new to me.

Still it does not change the fact that God acts in random ways thus even if you are righteous till death, entering heaven is not yet certain. And also, you cannot abstain from sin completely. To hell with all that crap about discipline.

No individual is a saint. We are all tainted with bad thoughts - the more effort you exert to overcome the urge, the more you are given to it. While some are consumed with it - and those are the ones sent to prison/sanctioned because they backed their thoughts with actions.

You are walking your reason through a one-sided tunnel. At least be open-minded a little. That would help.

And when I made mention of confessing sins, I was actually alluding to the fact that sins can be confessed anywhere, anytime.

I'm not a catholic, I'm an anglican, but that's not relevant to the discourse.

Hi NinjaX,
I am a new member of Nairaland and decided to join so I could participate in some of the discussions. I live in the U.S. Please forgive me if I make a few mistakes (in terms of replying to posts). I'm trying to learn how everything works.
Before I give my rebuttal (being a Christian) may I ask what religion do you practice?

That's why we have Jesus Christ mr ninja. Jesus Christ is the sacrifial lamb without a single sin, by believing in him and accepting Jesus Christ as our lord and saviour, he engulfs us in his righteousness and that's what God see's and that's how we attain perfect righteousness before God Almighty. Its like getting an American citizenship while in Nigeria, it means despite still living in Nigeria, you are entitled to full American privileges that the local American consulate can provide. I will advice you to try Jesus Christ as your Lord and your personal saviour, you can't miss it. It can be challenging, but I promise you you can't miss it.

Good reply. The guy's opinions is from an atheist point of views and again a pointer that the Bible must be taken as a whole.

Imagine quoting a verse alone and basing his vague conclusions. It's instructive to read even previous verses to learn what led to every response or answer that Christ gave. And know this, Jesus was deep in satirical explanations, using parables and other ways to knock off the Pharisees who were knowledgeable in the things about the law.

Their intentions were to fault Jesus and prove him wrong or to test him that He is not what He is. The more they do this, they more difficult they find Jesus become in His answers to their questions.

The OP in my mind is just religious as one of the Pharisees and never yet a christian. What he can't do, he shouldn't generalize. No one says the christian race is a cheap race. You must pay the price to win the prize.

The fact that no one has convinced you about heaven or hell should tell an informed mind about the sacrosanctity of God.

So you need someone to really go to heaven, or hell and come back to tell you before you believe those realities? But you read the story of the rich man and Lazarus, don't you? How the rich man wish be allowed a second chance to go back to the world, or allow him send an angel to go warn his people about hell. And what was God's answer to this, that they have pastors, evangelists here to warn them, and that even if prophet Elijah should go back there, they won't still listen.

So just get this fact, you cannot question God. Whatever you think falls within just mortal opinions which is limited to the existential nature of God that's supernatural.

Hell and heaven are both real on earth and people live them out on daily basis. When a man is truly knowledgeable he lives in heaven on earth all the days of his life, but when he is fundamentally ignorant like an every day African of today, hell becomes his abode. Or like a redneck.

Stupid comment

You are not convinced but deceived. The Bible says only d fool says there is no God. It's ur choice. Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is none other name given among men by which we must be saved (make heaven). For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. (Acts 4:12; John 3:16). God's testimony of his Word concering heaven. If you do not have d grace and spirit of God, u are none of his and cannot understand the spirit of truth. It's ur choice.

Excellent point you have there!

Plus the fact that you can commit the most vile of atrocities during your lifetime, but only have to "seek repentance" from Yahweh at the last second in order to redeem thy soul before you transition to the realm beyond.

Food for thought: what if Hitler, BinLaden or Anini adopted the aforestated measure before they passed on?
Is this not a twisted motivation to execute evil deeds?
yes we wld all av bn doing that but we don't know when/how we will die

I don't expect any genuine Christian to respond to this post as it will amount to nothing trying to convince a person that his/her mind is made up on subject matter.
But I pray that God will open your eyes to the knowledge of the truth in Jesus name.
