Am protesting about my stolen MTN line that was re-registered by fraudster without following due diligent. This happened on Friday 2, December 2016; I gave some people lift from Ikeja and discovered that the guy took my phone and purse.
I went to MTN office on Monday 5th December 2016, at Ikeja Centre to retrieve my line but was told the line has been registered by someone. The MTN customer officer shown the picture of the fraudster that registered the SIM line and it turned out to be the same person I gave a lift on Friday. The MTN officer said there is nothing they can do.
But my question is that, how is it possible that, an active line can be re-registered without due diligence. I have been using the line since 2006 and registered the line more than two times.

MTN has fraudster in his company.

The reason why people don't report theft to police anymore is because police will take more than the cost of what you lost from you

Go to twitter and call Mtn out, arrange your proof of ownership and copy icpc, NCC, servicom

This is a very serious case. Mtn has to prove how they re-registered someone's line to another person. Their policy states that the number stands to be given to another person if after ninety (90) days, the original owner fails to show up.

Someone also complained about this issue on this crime section but the network was etisalat. I think bank should stop automatically linking customers phone number with their bank account, its becoming very risky and prone to fraud.

If the number is what you use for your banking transactions and other personal things, please escalate before they use it for fraud
