the CAS said the 4 trainers inducted (including maintenance) came as gift from PAF and that other 10 trainers are expected.

14 units in total, that's very nice.

Indeed replacing the diamond trainers was indeed a right step but regardless of the acquisition.

my real joy will come when we obtain our thunders meanwhile our F-7 s especially those deployed to TAC had been silent on recon nd patrol. I think they may be on their maintenance cycle

Do you think the pakis can tweak our F-7s a little bit so they can deliver precision guided munition?
They have achieved this with their F-7PG right?

The Diamonds could not maneuver sh*t even their lives depended on it, although they were all modern with glass cockpits and all, they just weren't for military use.

They'll all soon be shipped out to NCAA in Illorin.

The JF-17 would be an incredible leap for the Air force's fighter fleet, a modern, 4th Generation fighter capable of all weather, Day and night fighting.

The Pakistanis have been integrating the Aselpod from Aselsan on their JF-17s. I hope we can do same with ours, also the Yings III from China is another good alternative. I hope we get good numbers in all, anything lower than 20 would be a disappointment for me.

I have no idea about the F-7s. That aircraft kinda gives me the creeps. Not interested!

If this was a requirement, I'm sure NAF would have done this instead of going for the JF-17.

Although they can, not a requirement. Funds are needed elsewhere.

i don't feel the F-7 should just be scrapped anytime soon.

I doubt the f-7 scrapping
NAF doctrine is centred on Intercepting & Ground Interdiction strike
Seeing the f-7 has useful life span left they would continue in interception role and the JF-17 will give us a multi role capability

We would not scrap the F-7s. Those F-7s are new planes. They would continue to be part of our air fleet for the foreseeable future.

Exactly. The F-7s would be deployed mostly as interceptors, while the JF-17 would take over the current duties of the F-7.

I can only agree to this if when the JF-17 contract is made public, NAF signed up for 24units. If we don't get good numbers of the JF-17 and stick with the F-7, whether advanced or not, this would be tantamount to moving backwards.

We need to move forward, the F-7s cant move us forward. Even if you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. The lipstick doesn't change that.

If we get 24 JF17 the PAF can give us 4 free F7 .
It doesn't mean we are sticking to it . the Pakistanis are excited it means something big is happening

I was just reading about the Super Tucano on Wikipedia. Mehn, that aircraft is dope. Its track record is monumental. If Nigeria can get its hand on it, it should be given the honor of terminating Shekau.

Nigeria's local armoured vehicle manufacturing is till very young and growing.

However since this industry came into existence, local company Proforce has managed to carve a niche for itself.

So far Proforce armoured vehicles have been sold to the Rivers state police command, Abuja police command, Rapid Response Unit in Lagos and the Osun police command. The company is also due to sell 9 MRAPs to the Nigerian army.

In terms of exports, the company has also manged to secure exports to Rwanda, south-sudan and the CAR.
You hardly see one these days. Most(if not all) that are deployed "then" had been recalled back by the State HQs. Had beem replaced by the Armoured vehicle below(can't recall the name). Since the deployment of these vehicles, believe me, armed robbers have stopped attacking banks in the state....MAYBE because of it's Size.
It's huge you would think it's an MRAP.

Over at Quwa, they're citing Flight Global as follows:
these four aircraft are from existing PAF/PAC stocks and are being loaned to the NAF as an interim measure until the NAF’s new-build Super Mushshak aircraft are delivered.

A total of eight surplus units will be loaned to the NAF.

What PAC is doing is exactly what someone hungry for a sale should do: 10 trainers you want to buy? Right, they'll be ready in x months, so in the meantime, we'll loan you 8 so you familiarise yourself.

paki**** is cash strapped , country is basically running on loans , all recent military acquisitions r on loans so what QUWA (sourced from flightglobal) says makes sense.

I honesty doubt these guys know more about the arrangement than the CAS, he said the 4 units are gifts not a loan, they don't mean thesame thing.
