Austinpee4: Thank you very much. They won't pay into my account - for good reason, cos one might just sit tight with the money I will try to get the school's account details ASAP and see if they pay soon. The risk is that if they pay, a refund is virtually impossible with TSA. First though, I need to extend this admission offer to September 2017 to give myself float. When they do pay, I will then try to use my mum and two older siblings as co-sponsors... Maybe if they can commit to giving me say 1m each, it will help (?) (combined with mine). They don't have huge accounts though, but will probably be deemed reliable due to their stable/respectable professions. Will they need to actually transfer the cash into my account, or will their 'promise' letters be enough? *Btw, will the 3 of them be 'too many'? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by scimitar: 2:19am On Dec 08, 2016 |
Folaroyal: Thank you. I just used the suggested gcmsnow and will be completing it tomorrow; more expensive but I really am not in the mood for any more complexities after all this. As always, beware the complexities of the cheaper option! Thanks again. @Mikymiko thanks too. |

scimitar: @ Bold, very true! especially when a Nigerian is involved. Emergency business ideas will start dropping like it's hot! Lol Anywhere, i agree with you. Good thing is that you are already having good ideas of tackling the issue which is commendable and a good step moving forward. A reliable sponsorship (main and co- sponsor) most times can be family members or closely related persons. This is not to say any other person cannot be reliable. Just that, a 3rd party sponsorship will have a lot to prove in terms of relationship to applicant, commitments, reasons to invest huge funds on applicant, etc. About them transferring the cash to your account, if they can do this,i'll say yes! You have direct access to your account anytime should there be need for funds and also you are the signatory. I don't clearly understand what you mean by "promise letter", but if its like a co-sponsorship letter stating financial commitment to you in addition to the scholarship, awesome! especially coming from your family member(s).But make sure every claim(s) is supported with clear cut evidence and is convincing. Lastly, 3 of them will make your co sponsorship and support more like a financial COMBAT team ready to fight any abnormality in your financial status!! LOL. I don't think it should be a problem as long as they can support you in addition to the scholarship as they will be claiming. Best regards 1 Like |

xyoung: Dear Xyoung, 1. What is the relationship of your Sponsor to you? 2. If using a third party Sponsor, did you pay and attach ur school fees receipt? 3. How did you prove your relationship with your sponsor? 4. Did you attach your sponsor's assets and SOA? 5. Did you attach your personal or parents assets? 2 Likes |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Nobody: 7:05am On Dec 08, 2016 |
Frostbaby:His tuition being for 2yrs matters not to CIC but the substantial flow and source of income makes the VO believe that the sponsor can cater for the next available year. CIC requirement specified at least 1year and i hope he did NOT fill 2years tuition in his study permit form? the 2nd question is how was the 40m accumulated if it is the closing balance? since he said the father is a trader, the VO expects to see monthly transactions of business details in that account to be convinced that the 40M was not a purported building of an account for VIsa. His fathers' trading business is never a must to be registered if the business does not demand for such, as long as he can produce updated invoices, receipts, payment of business premise rent, tax payment and union dues if possibles, the VO will be convinced too that the applicant was sincere in his/her application. He should next time include the father's birth cert/affidavit of age and his, showing their relationship. Not including his dad's Assets is never a yardstick, even without assets a VO can still approve.people provide N100million worth of assets and still get refused on insufficient funds. 3 Likes |

Abduletudaye: Travel history isn't a significant ground to refuse you visa. As for fees.... https://www.dal.ca/admissions/money_matters/tuition_fees_costs/fee_calculator.html There you go....calculate your fees based on your proposed program. 1 Like 1 Share |

For someone accepted by MA program at Uvictoria of BC(Co-op) and UofToronto(no co-op), with full scholarship covering fees and upkeep, which will you choose or advise to choose, and why? Thank you. |

Abduletudaye: If you want cheap universities, check out Memorial university, U of Saskatchewan, University of British Columbia, U of Victoria, and U of North brtish Columbia. See if they offer your interested course. Try apply to three schools at least. If your GP is high and going for thesis course, you are likely to get scholarship if You apply very soon. You came at a close to scholarship deadline but can meet up with serious dedication, mentorship and prayers, but not panic. Shalom! 3 Likes 1 Share |

I NEED HELP PLEASE. My TRV was approved on Dec. 6th, University of Regina, Msc. I had a balance of $32,543USD in my statement when I applied (100% self sponsored). I have paid advance tuition of $4000CDN to the school before visa application. So I later used some money after my application for some personal and company business so I have only about $14,000USDs left in my account as at this moment. I read from my approval letter that I need to show PROOF OF FUNDS AT POINT OF ENTRY IN CANADA. I am worried, which proof of funds do I need to show? Is it the same statement of account i used to applied for visa or do I need to PRINT A NEW ONE? Money will come to my account by December 23rd, but I must have gone by then. And can only access the cash via online banking transfer from Nigeria. I am worried that if I print a new one the amount inside will not be enough to show the officers at the point of entry. Do they bother on this so much or do I need to just carry the old statement I used to apply for TRV. I am traveling on December 18th. Please I seek guide and advise from all of us and the BOSSES on the FORUM. Thanks guys! 2 Likes |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by bayoshenko(m): 10:25am On Dec 08, 2016 |
StudentsNG:Proof of funds does not mean you have to have the amount with you. The only thing is to convince them at the POE that you have sufficient funds to support your stay. I am sure that they do not need any SOA at the POE, but if you are taking more than $10,000 with you remember to declare it. Your online banking can also come in handy to show them that you have funds to support you. On a lighter note, visa application has turned us into thinking that even $10000 is small money, but infact it is not even to them. So believe me someone who can present at $10000 at POE is well capable of taking care of him/herself anywhere in the world (IMHO). All the best. 4 Likes |

Good day guys, I cant begin to say how much I have benefited from the knowledge and information on this thread. God bless you guys forever. Please does any one know of any school that accept 2.8 CGP(the conversion into Canadian grade is still not clear to me) into Masters in Engineering/Technology courses. I would have applied for PGC but the odds are a little bit against me: an informal job experiences(no pay slip or employment letter)and no travel experience but my sponsor(brother) have sufficient finance to cover any program. |
