If you are a Nigerian, you would have met or heard a particular phrase which many people are fond of saying almost or the time. The phrase goes ‘I’m Proud Of My Country’. 60% of us fall in the category of these particular set of people.

But there is always a question to ask when you meet people of such: what are the things you see in your country that makes you proud. When people say they are proud of their country! what do Nigerians really mean by the statement?

Is it the electricity section of the country? Or the roads and the educational system? Are you living in Nigeria? Are you proud of your country? If yes, What really makes you proud of your own country?

Did everyone notice how quiet this thread has been since the OP posted this topic. But if the topic was " we....don't support Biafra" then all of a sudden fake patriots of one Nigeria will have an opinion driven by Igbo hatred.

To all one nigerianist, this is the perfect thread for you all to come and respond but as expected, you are no where to be found.

This has always been the trend here on nairaland. The people who are quick to scream One Nigeria will leave the country at the slightest chance they get. Some of them are living abroad as we speak

I am proud of Nigeria because of unmeasurable natural resources from Almighty God and I am also wise enough to know that converting those resources to prosperity is my duty. I don't blame God for made me a Nigerian but blame myself for slacking in make Nigeria great. Which kine survival instinct? Even in the mist of all this immeasurable natural resources, we are still struggling after 56 years of independence, is it something to be proud of? There's a saying in my place that "Ejihi afufu anyi isi (No one should be proud saying Na me suffer pass)

You are asked to name one thing and u said survival instinct. Europe fought WWI AND II yet they survived, Americans have experienced different natural disasters from hurricane to wild fire and they survived, Japan experienced Hiroshima and tsunami and they survived

Now tell me, what are we serving from?

The only surviving instinct I see in Nigerians is doing anything to put food on the table even if it means hurting other people.
