Christmas is the most celebrated holiday in the world not just in Nigeria but worldwide.They were alot of thing we did growing up that when we reflect now,we just laugh.

Name 5 Things you did as a child during Christmas Period?

1. Bought fireworks: Knockout, 'abisco' etc.

2. Tiptoe into the kitchen to sneak a piece of fried chicken/turkey into my pocket - to be eaten in the dark confines of my room .

3. Always asked for new xmas clothes and shoes.

4. Visited every unlce Joe, and aunty Jane to line my pocket with cash - If I come your house and you no gree gimme anything, na to start repeating ''uncle I am going, aunty ayam leaving'' until you pick up the clue (yesk, I can't come to your house and go back in vain na).

5. Visit the barbing saloon to get the latest haircut - everything had to be new o.

Wai lai, I miss those days. I wonder how Xmas is gonna look like this year with a bag of rice at skyhigh price.

I'm sure some people will make do with beans and yam that day.

Everything is expensive under Buhari bro. Whoever can afford rice, can actually afford beans/yam.

2. I always decribe and talk about d kind of xmas cloth i will use with my friends
3. I usually draw a list of friends and families i will visit on xmas day
4. I use to check d calender almost everyday jst to make sure of d xmas date
5. I would'nd get myself involve in any kind of activity dat could get me injured, cos i feared celebrating xmas with d slightest of injury

Everybody makes recession and bad economy a "national athem" yet this Christmas won't really be any different.
As far as i'm concerned, this recession didn't affect me in anyway. Jesus is my portion!

Christmas used to be fun before the internet and fancy gadgets.

Those days we would spend the lil cash we had on knockouts and fire crackers. I used to look forward to the movies on Xmas day even though the defunct NEPA had a habit of keeping us in darkness. The food was always a delight to look forward to, I mean those days chicken had a different effect/taste during Christmas. :

Uncles and Aunties that came visiting and always left you with a big smile by shoving some cash into your hands. It was literally the only period I didn't have to handover the money to my parents. The ecstatic feeling of wearing your Christmas cloths and then having to attend xmas concerts where all you do is dance, eat and make a request. We always looked so silly and cute when making those shout outs..lol

I remember always setting up the Christmas tree and decorating the house with dad. Now its all but good memories.

most importantly Xmas is a time to show love, share love/Joy and feel loved, during 26 Dec which is boxing day this is another day to share gifts within one another, families, friends, relatives etc. how I wish Nigerians will learn the habit of giving out stocks on discount instead of increasing the price once Xmas is upon us.....

Christmas

That's the day my late brother told me to circle the house until I hear a voice from above calling me. Obviously, the voice would be God's or Jesus's, so I circled the house. So my brother is inside with his girlfriend and I'm circling the house.

I remember, I heard the voice after many circles but it belonged to my brother. His girlfriend was in his bathrobe and he was all a sudden wearing shorts. I was told not to narrate a thing about seeing his girlfriend.
