Empowerment: Obi splashes N24m, 41 buses, 20 tricycles on Agulu youths Empowerment: Obi splashes N24m, 41 buses, 20 tricycles on Agulu youths ON DECEMBER 10, 20165:05 AMIN BUSINESS, NEWSCOMMENTS *Awards scholarship to a Ph.D student By Vincent Ujumadu, Awka FORMER governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi yesterday empowered 240 youths of his home town, Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area, donating to them N24 million, 42 buses and 20 tricycles popularly known as Keke NAPEP to enable them fend for themselves. *Gov Peter Obi He also awarded scholarship worth N1 million to one Miss Chinwe Okonkwo from the community who made First Class at the undergraduate level and currently pursuing her PhD programme. He also promised that every Agulu indigene who made a first class would be offered scholarship to pursue PhD programme. Obi said at the well attended ceremony at the Agulu Town Hall that the exercise would continue under the Peter Obi Empowerment Scheme until majority of youths in the area achieved improved standard of living for themselves and their families. According to him, henceforth 20 people would be empowered every month in Agulu until the desired impact was achieved. He explained that the N24 million donated under the scheme was without interest from the beneficiaries and urged them to use it judiciously and report back to him should they encounter challenges in the course of doing their businesses. Obi appealed to Agulu people to embrace peace, noting that it was only under a peaceful atmosphere that unity and progress could be achieved in the area. He also appealed to the privileged ones in the community to always think about home so as to turn Agulu into an urban center, announcing that he would be attracting two banks to Agulu community to be sited at Nkwo Agulu and Afor Agulu as soon as possible, as a means of opening up the community further. In their separate remarks, the traditional ruler of Agulu, Igwe Innocent Obodoakor and the President General of the town, Sir Paulinus Aniagboso, commended the former governor for remaining a worthy son of Agulu.

The former governor of Anambra state, Chief sir Peter Obi will today in Agulu town hall empower the youth of Agulu with 20million. He directed that one million each will go 20 villages in Agulu.

In addition to the 21 shuttle buses already assembled in the town hall arena to be shared to d youth.

Peter obi had 8 years to begin and complete the Agulu lake resort, so its a failure on his part to not have completed it. As for the wonders in road infrastructure in Agulu, you must be kidding yourself. Peter obi only created some new access roads, Agulu has always had good roads
