I made an argument and used stats to back it up. Atleast those who didn't see the game will get a picture of what happened.

I suspected Ihenacho had very few touches all game and clearly the stats in his dashboard highlights that. Anyone who watched the game will agree that was the case.

Yes! Actually those arrows shows the pin point location of all his passes on the grass.

I said Iheanacho didn't win any ariel ball all game, I check the stats and it showed I was spot on!

I have put disclaimers time and time again that I don't check statistics before coming to conclusions. I pull up stats to prove my assertions because it's often my words against your words.
Hence, I use stats and numbers and explain my points.

How in the world will you think kelechi will ever win an ariel battle against Huth. Even if you didn't watch the game and someone told you that, will you belive him?

Where did I say Iheanacho won battle? Iheanacho got balls in the air with speed and clever movement. He did not win battle. I already said over and over again without looking at stats that he was bullied. He made impact despite the unfair scenario. I hate repeating the same thing.

You clearly missed a lot. You did not know what drop deep is. So please leave arguing. Just read your stats.

You tried to make it look as if I was lying, instead of leaving the argument because you did not understand what happened on the pitch.

You said you did not see any wrong decision. This is enough to expose your lack of understanding.

Leave it as that.

Leave that disclaimer talk. You said no aerial ball. Not duel. You could not tell the difference. If you watched the game well, you will not come to that conclusion.

A striker dropping deep simply means the player spent a lot of time in his defensive half to aid the build up play. Just like Sanchez does.

I was shocked when I read your post saying Ihenacho dropped deep and aided in the build up play. At no time did I see him deep inside his own half.
It's clear you ran out of things to praise him with that's why you rode with the idea that he dropped deep to aid build up,which is a very wrong.
Some of us watched this game, you can't say what you like just because you want to defend Guardiola's training methods working magic on Kelechi( I know that's where all this is heading to, its the usual route)

The opta dashboard I posted shows Ihenacho made 80% of his passes inside Leicester's half. And am the one who don't know what dropping deep means?

Mind you, every striker in the world is bullied. Defenders are trained to roughen opposing strikers, its a psychological warfare out there where only the tough cookies survive.
Ask Diego Costa, Suarez, Drogba,Sanchez etc... They will tell you how much they have suffered in the hands of opposing defenders.

Kelechi shouldn't expect to have defenders cuddle and sing lullaby for him. Its a tough job out there.

Why is Aguero’s shoe too big? Because, the midfielders failed to create clear cut chances for Iheanacho?

Remember, we had the same issue with the Chelsea game, where the referee allowed unfair physical defending against Aguero. Aguero lost hi Temper in that game.

Whether Messi, Ronaldo, Robben, Hazard or Aguero, if the Referee does not protect the attacker, they will not perform.
Who says Iheanacho didn't get a clear chance? what happened to that pinpoint up cross to iheanacho that instead of heading home, failed to even have a touch on the ball? What happened to his one-on-one miss that was later ruled out for an offside?

you claim that he was substituted because of the physical nature but why was Nolito brought in to play in his position? is he more physical than Iheanacho? I observed in the match that Iheanacho poaching skills as a top striker is poor, thus, the midfielders could not deliver many clear chances to him, he has a top poaching as a SS. Although City's team was generally poor, but that sub was as a result of pep loosing confidence in him in that very game. It is not about being very mobile more that Aguero, it is about being in the right place at the right time and capitalising on his chances.

Offside is called a clear chance? A cross that a player did not reach is called a clear chance. Na WA. You guys haba. Poaching skills is poor when we could not create clear cut chances.

Do not use sub to count. Guardiola played Yaya Toure as a Striker because of the Bullying and poor protection Iheanacho got. You guys analyse with conscience.

For £50m, I would expect more from Stones. Lots of defenders who cost 1/4 of his transfer fee are miles better than him. Virjil Van Dijk and Mustafi transfer fee put together won't buy Jon stones. Its ridiculous.
Yes with Stones at d backline, man city go no where,he lacked a lot of things as a CB

Iheanacho had a good game. There I no way you can say he had a poor game when he did not have good service. He made the most of the situation. Created a clear scoring opportunity for Gundogan, won a clear penalty that was denied.

The question is, how did you not see any of these and asked for one thing.

What of the clear build-up plays by Nacho when he dropped deep?

So, which if these did you see?

Yara Yara, bring my Bullet proof vest. Someone is shooting point blank.
I hold u in very high esteem when analyzing on this forum, quite agreed u are man city fan coz your comments showed that u are one.

We all have our respective club we are supporting as a fan and that should not make us so biased in our analysis.Remember i asked a question when u said d defenders are too old to keep up with Guardiola intense strategy meaning Guardiola should be exonerated from blame, then u came up with a good response saying he should be blamed coz he is in charge.

There are things w need to say here to make this thread credible coz we have a lot of guest peeping here to get info on what is going on,mind u man city lost 4 goals to 1 which tells us they had a very bad game and no need to single out any player for blame.

Normally Iheanacho is our own and i want to tell u a lot of Nigerians watching man city coz of Nacho and they have every right to appraise him. This is point blank,Iheanacho had a poor game yesterday like others and your so call tackled against Nacho,i want to tell u there are some decisions i don't argue on coz they are not clear cut situations. The tackled against Nacho by Albrighton was not a clear cut one so forget d penalty calling

On d old defenders lacking d abilities to cope with Guardiola intense strategy,i totally disagreed with u coz d worst defender yesterday was Stone d youngest, not only yesterday even against Chelsea.Lahm at Bayern was able to work with Guardiola,d same thing Puyol at Barca and we have seen young defenders find it hard to break into Guardiola team.

Truly Stone is young but 50m pound player must be able to do it all, forget age,is like telling me Pogba is still young to justify his price tagged. No excuse for 50m pound player,he must prove his mettle that d money is not a waste.

Right from the start, I gave my opinion on the Man city game with respect to Iheanacho's performance. I wonder what you mean by copy copy.
When you tried to make a fist of the argument, I had to go online at opta to pull kelechi's stats and unsurprisingly, his stats agreed with me that
1) he stood no chance against Huth and Morgan
2)he didn't help any build up play.
3)he saw very little of the ball and had very few touches on the ball
4)he had no attempt on goal

If you think winning aerial ball isn't important, you do realise the first goal Man city conceeded was as a result of Morgan winning an ariel duel against kelechi, with the ball going to Islam, who found Vardy, Bang!

You think I run the kind of analysis I do based on copy or just stats? Lol lol
If I did, I would have erroneously thought that Etebo played an advanced role against Algeria.

You don't have to be biased whenever matters concerning Man city are discussed. What makes you different from Robbie Savage you dissed if you can't be objective when your favourite club topic is raised.
You can't even admit you guys had a bad game all round with poor tactics, instead you blame the ref. Very typical. Lol lol

With £50m, you should be buying a Diego Godin, Ramos or Koseilny. Not Jon Stones
If Man city were to put him on transfer list this morning, they will struggle to get £15m for him.

Southampton bought Virjil Van Dijk for £10m,Tottenham bought Toby Aldeweight for £11m. Joel Matip went to Liverpool on free transfer
Their transfer fees combined isn't up to half of Jon Stones transfer fee. Its quite disturbing

The tackle on Iheanacho as from behind in the box. Look at the Yellow Fernando got when he clearly got the ball. Then look at Albrighton's own which was by far worse. We can not say it was not clear cut. That was a definite penalty.

As I said before. We had an awful game. The defence was terrible. I have repeatedly stated Guardiola Should stick to a basic back four. When we play that way, the players no what to do. Especially the defenders.

Kolarov and Stones are limited in the highline. If we must play that way, play a flat four. Let Fernando sit deep.

That does not mean I should exonerate The Referee. He was awful. To me, it was clear he favored the opposition. He would let them walk away with murder.

If anyone wants to criticise the team, it is fine. However, no bias lies. The referee was poor. It does not hurt. Nacho did not have a good game generally but I can not say he had a poor game. The situation was tough and unfair. Iheanacho pulled off some brilliant plays despite the terrible conditions.

That is a plus, not minus.

English players have inflated prices. There is no way Sterling is worth that price tag. Same goes to Stones. Stones was not as slow as Kolarov. He was not. His Problem came from his choices. His decision to ball watch instead of tracking Vardy was one. His decision to pass back in a tight situation instead of putting the ball out for a throw or making an earlier simple pass to Sagna.

However, the lack of pace and stamina is even a bigger issue. Sagna tried but a younger version will excel in that game. Zabaleta, Kolarov, Clichy and Sagna are in their thirties. We need younger players to cope with the demanded runs of the system.

Just like the runs Iheanacho made yesterday.

What is proven? Your copy copy stats? Do you have an idea what ordinary is?

For instance, watch the Albrighton's tackle on Iheanacho. Before it, Iheanacho made an extraordinary run to get to the ball. Here you are talking ordinary.

Iheanacho made some nice controls under pressure. Here you are talking ordinary. His chance he created for Gundogan was brilliant.

So you can not judge by reading stats. It is sad, you can not figure things like this even after watching the game.

I wonder what you were watching if you could not see Iheanacho drop deep to help the team build-up plays.

If you said Iheanacho did not, then it shows how limited your watching is. As I said before, aerial duels/battles are different from aerial balls.

Aerial balls is when without pressure, a player heads the ball.

So they are not the same thing. In battle, the Leicester defenders bullied Iheanacho off the ball repeatedly and made aerial duels difficult for him.

Mr who does not know what dropping deep is.

Whats so extra ordinary with the run he made? Did he run 50yards and Albrighton hacked him down?
I remember Icon4s pointing out that kelechi has a poor first touch. Against Leicester, it was quite glaring. He missed controlled a few balls and turned over possession a few times.

About kelechi dropping deep, I beg to disagree. I can't recall seeing him deep in the Man city half. Maybe he was playing to Guardiola's instructions to that regard.

Please, today is Sunday. Call a spade a spade.

So they are not the same thing. In battle, the Leicester defenders bullied Iheanacho off the ball repeatedly and made aerial duels difficult for him.

Mr who does not know what dropping deep is.
When I say aerial duels, definitely you should know I mean aerial battles. You think I will be referring to unchallenged headers? Lol lol

A striker leaving his natural position and dropping deep inside his half to out number the opposition and help with good passing angle is called dropping deep.
Please give me your definition of dropping deep and relate it to the role Kelechi played last night.

I will not teach you dropping deep. As for Aerial balls, you clearly missed that. Accept it and move on. Or buy Microscope.

Go and look at the picture and tell me all the touches Iheanacho made was in the attack position. Na wa. You need microscope for medicated glasses.

The run to the ball to beat Albrighton to it was extraordinary. Before Albrighton could make few steps, Nacho was on it. I screamed before the tackle.

I wish you understood things like this. Mr Spade.
No wonder, now I see the problem. You were so tensed up while watching the game. I suggest you cool down and watch the full match again.

Sharp guy, see how he doged the question. You know your lies would have caught up with you if you had attempted defining what dropping deep means.

LOLS. Me tensed? If I was tensed, how did I pick up your gaffes. If you can not find Microscope, Yara Yara can bring one for the Lab for you. Consider it a favor.

Am not asking you define dropping deep again. I know your pattern of argument.
You don't respond to questions when you feel it will overlap with your earlier assertions. Like you did with the Saviola,, Xavi golden boy argument.

You said even before the tackle went in, you were already screaming. It paints the picture of a man who is tensed up. grin

I doubt you watched the game well, if you can still talk not improving. Iheanacho showed brilliance in the game. Bright runs, some strong ball control.

I mean, did you guys see the foul on Iheanacho that the referee refused to blow. That was one amazing run. He was far behind the ball and Albrighton, met the ball long before him and the referee fouled him.

Did you see the brilliant tour of Iheanacho before he laid the ball to Gundogan, who missed the ball.

Iheanacho worked hard, battled against a physical side and people like you are fighting to paint him bad.

You even tried to make it look as if Iheanacho had a poor game against Celtic. Keep waiting for game time and do not notice the good work Iheanacho did today
.

I'm happy at least people like you still exists..see the criticism this young boy is getting, to make it worse by fellow Nigerians....sometimes I wonder if they even know football.

I am going to be direct here. you said Nacho was dropping deep to help build up play, now your own explanation of dropping deep is dropping into the advanced midfield position which isn't really dropping deep but manageable sha, now goldfish has clearly stated that Nacho could only complete six passes alone, then that means that even when he dropped deep he was contributing nothing, because if you drop deep like you are trying to imply, then you should see the ball more often and you should be able to complete more than six passes obviously! that's case one, then case two, of you drop deep and the midfielders aren't giving the ball to you, it means they want you to stay up top and stretch the defence for Christ's sake which Nacho wasn't doing all game long. he dropped deep thus affording Huth and Morgan the opportunity to push higher up the field this maintaining the compactness of the Leicester team and this gave the forward line more space to press the living daylight out of the city back four. now if Nacho pushed Morgan and Huth closer to their box, then the space between the defenders and the midfielders would increase and that would give the city midfielders enough room to function in the middle, to counter that fact, the midfielders would fall deeper into their half and this will cut off the supply line to the attack, to counter this the attackers would move deeper too and that would have given the city defence the.much needed respite, whichever way you look at it Nacho was not impressive today or to put it in a better way, he wasn't inventive today, you don't always play to the coaches instructions, when things get out of hand you try some new things with your teammates inside the field.

I know goldfish was wearing tinted glasses when he was watching that Nigeria vs Algeria match but his analysis of yesterday's match is spot on

oga, don't enter what you don't know. the bone of contention here is that someone asked how Nacho performed, we are not blaming him for the loss, we are just saying that he too was poor as well
