TheGoodJoe: I shouldn't have to say this to someone with your depth of experience and knowledge, I wish to presume. Welcome to the premiership the most physical league in the world. What makes you stand out is your ability to overcome bullying. Bullying is inherent to the game. What makes you a striker here is your ability to impose yourself on the game. If he Kelechi got bullied? It means, let me put it clear, He never ready yet. When sterling first burst on to the scene for Liverpool he couldn't cope with the physicality of the game. So he went to the gym that is no longer the case. Kelechi wants to be world class he needs to be able to deal with the physical side of the game. I haven't had time to watch the full game. I have watched just highlights and what I noticed City had a poor game couldn't deal with pace. But also maybe a reflection of no support Kelechi did not impose himself on the game, he didn't have what I call presence. |

komekn: There is a big difference in playing physical/tough and Bullying. This season, Raheem Sterling got a yellow for tugging a shirt. The EPL body had a decision to cut down on dirty play. However, yesterday, we watched The Leicester City players commit foul after foul and get away with it. That is not physical play. That is outright bullying with the support of the referee. The Referees are there to maintain decency on the pitch. If the referee supports dirty play, then we might as well not need a referee. No one has beef with physical play. However, dirty fouls, throwing players off their position is against the Rule of the game. Leicester were dirty yesterday. The referee supported it and Nacho was the one who suffered it the most. |

komekn: His son is there for the benefits of the locals but Savage's hatred is not hidden. He hates City with all his heart. This is not even a debate. Click my profile and see an article critiquing Savage long before this game. It has been on since the time of Mancini. Savage is a rag. An open one. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:09pm On Dec 11, 2016 |
princesuko: How did the stats show he had a bad game? I said, the stats does not tell the whole story. Clearly the stats the did not show he had a bad game. The stats showed he made more correct passes than wrong ones. The stats showed he dropped deep and linked up with things midfield with right passes. Not a bad game. I pointed out and I am still repeating the same thing. When you look at the situation, the poor chances created, Iheanacho did well. Overall, we were poor. But, Iheanacho worked hard for the team. |

Mickael2: Jumping over the place again. What does Ikedia have to do with this? First of all, Ikedia went from the U20 team to the Super Eagles. In the U20, he was one of the best players of the competition despite us going out in the Quarter finals of Nigeria '99. In the Super Eagles, Ikedia was a player the team relied on for Penetration. This was a young man playing with top respected players. Analysts used to criticise our reliance on Pius Ikedia. So quit all this Ikedia talk like if he was not a special talent. He might not have become World Class but he gave us memorable performances and deserve better respect here. 1 Like |

Mickael2: It is not the amount of passes that matter but the impact of those. As I said, reading stats is different from watching the game. It does not tell the mobile runs, the hardwork an please, Speed is a big part of the City game now. Which Iheanacho brought to the team. He brought plenty of it. He would have made more connecting passes but he service was poor. It is sad reading foreign expressing Sympathy for Nacho in the game because he worked hard. However, here people are trying to make it look like he was a weak link. Far from it. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:22pm On Dec 11, 2016 |
Mickael2: Simple, in the early part of the game, Iheanacho stayed shoulder to shoulder with the defense line of Leicester City. Later in the game, he switched and dropped deep to help build-up plays. I wonder where you got all game long from. You watched the game and should have the capability of telling things like these apart. I love kolarov very much. He is a top quality talent and gave us memorable performances. Did that come between my judgement of his performance yesterday? Quit all these love for City. I say it as I see it. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:25pm On Dec 11, 2016 |
Mickael2: Please, Iheanacho was not found mainly in the attack midfield position. He was in position for most of the crosses. He was a target for most of the long balls City played. When we do not have the ball, he has to track back to help the team. That is not where you judge positional play. Position judgment come when he team has the ball. Now the debate is that Iheanacho was in midfield. I thought the earlier argument was that he did not drop deep. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:28pm On Dec 11, 2016 |
safarigirl: There is a rumor of a big attacking buy coming in. So, we need to wait and see what will happen. Guardiola already said at the end of the season, he will ascertain if he has the right mix in the academy before looking outside. However, there is a chance Aguero will go. As for Kelechi Iheanacho, if Simeone will stay at Atletico Madrid, I will consider there the best place for him if City does not work out. Although, I see him making it at City. |

TheGoodJoe: What is there to understand? You make it seem as if we are U-20s just watching football. Maradona played in an era without "protection" and still delivered(Messi and Maradona had Similar Playstyle). I don't undersatnd how fouling messi will stop him from Winning Awards? Is it because of Injury? He had those in 2013? Watch the Joan gamper match against Juventus in 2005 then tell me He wasn't fouled, even then he produced a MOTM performance. It seems you just make absurd claims from tin air and call them Fact. |

TheGoodJoe: Is it "Worked Hard" that constitutes a good game? Iheanacho had the lowest Touch yesterday "18",didn't have any Shot, didn't win any Aerial Duels,Dispossessed twice, didn't win any tackle and you say he pressed well?, had the lowest rating on whoscored. If you say their rating means Nothing, No point having any further discussion. https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1080689/Live/England-Premier-League-2016-2017-Leicester-Manchester-City He is a great Talent but was Poor if you can't see that then this argument is Null. 1 Like |

princesuko: You guys keep jumping to stats, without understanding the point. You want attacker to win tackle? I said, given the situation. Iheanacho was cut off with little services from his team-mates. It is so simple. With little touches, he was able to make impact. Especially the penalty he was clearly denied and the chance he created for Gundogan. As I said, stats do not tell the whole story. You are just reading points but can not analyse from the match situations. We were very poor but Iheanacho made impact. That showed his brilliance that you guys are down playing. He also dropped deep to support the team. In those times, he made contributions. Please, know from now that working hard is a big part of the game. |

I do feel that there is an unhealthy pre-occupation with Kelechi, is he the only promising players we have . I didn't watch the whole match. But my opinion is that Kelechi is not an out and out striker and or target man. We are in danger of over hyping him, he is currently potential that hasn't been proven. There is a long way to go. 4 Likes 1 Share |

AF Nigeria Nigeria Premier League 2016 Tunisia Rangers place $500,000 price tag on star striker Chisom Egbuchulam Nigeria champions Enugu Rangers have asked Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel to pay $500,000 for the transfer of star striker Chisom Egbuchulam. “Rangers have responded to an enquiry for Chisom by asking the Tunisian club to pay them $500,000,” a top official disclosed. Egbuchulam himself has confirmed Etoile’s interest and said he wishes to now ply his trade overseas. Belgian club Lokeren are equally interested in the player, who has transformed from a bit player to the star of Rangers under coach Imama Amapakabo. He said he still has a year left on his contract with ‘The Flying Antelopes’. Last season, Egbuchulam scored 16 goals in the league, a record which earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles for a 2018 World Cup qualifier in Zambia in October. A winger or a striker, he is powerful, skillful and packs a shot as he again demonstrated with his well-taken brace against Rivers United in the on-going NPFL Super 4 in Enugu.
