Yes, you can sponsor yourself if you have sufficient funds to pay your tuition and support yourself atleast for one year. Also, You will have to show a reliable source of income to support yourself for subsequent year (s) if your program is more than a year.
Anybody can sponsor you but you should show and prove their relationship to you and why the want to support your studies financially.

Thanks for your response!

Good observation. It seems the VO give preference to paper application. I did online application. Is it a good idea to send them an email so they could hasten the process? Resumption is Jan 1, and I haven't even been contacted for medical examination. I submitted my application 27th October.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by unyted(m): 9:32pm On Dec 11, 2016
It is not true that the Canadian VO give preference to people who gain admission to top schools. I know a friend that gained admission to University of Toronto and was initially denied visa. He had to reapply and repackage his application.

Bros, while I agree that big schools are okay, most employers also look at your skills in line with job posts. Don't be so carried away with big schools because some of them are over rated. A big school might be good in some courses and end up competing with lower schools in some courses. I think the rating of those big schools is mostly tied to their research capabilities.

All other things like skills and experience being equal , who would you pick to work in your firm? Mr A from a school whose minimum requirement for admission is C+ or Mr B from a school whose minimum requirement for admission is A-?

Yes.... Yes... you are on point.
We should not confuse ourselves the more.I am certain without doubt that the rating of schools will not influence a VOs decision.
Many have even discussed particular institutions on the thread calling them fraud/scam!!.. I don't know what informed such opinions though.
In as much as a school is assigned with a DLI number... It becomes a sin for any VO to decide applications based on ratings.
People have been approved on colleges /institutions you may not have ever heard of..
Just package your application well!!!

No two persons can have the same experience and skills at the the same time. If you are really a good researcher, try find out a province that employ only graduates from top schools without regarding other schools in the same province.

Please, can you name some provinces that are predisposed to graduate from high rank schools for employment?

Just like most people in your situation have been advised already, you'll have to still be more patient and wait for the final decision on your appliction from CIC as nobody here can tell you about your chances of getting the TRV.
Be positive about the outcome as you wait for them to revert back to you.
You should also reach your school and inform them about the situation and get advise concerning the fees payment and deadline. They should better guide or advise you on how to proceed.
thank you I really appreciate

Thanks @Zoloex for d offer to help. Does UBC offer PGD/C? During the application online sud we ignore the TOELF and IELTS part? Am aware no application fees. But what is the main criteria to secure admission? CGPA is 4.366 Mech Engr. What if no supervisor respond to mail can someone jus put any name there on d application form?

Thanks again

What I have noticed is that your correspondence letter carries only your program end date plus 90 days!
Meaning commence date will be from the time you appear at PoE. However, your study start date is still the determinant..... So in any case, you'll still be required to provide a new letter if the original one expires before you get approval.
Is there such institution that will not agree to defer on the condition that your visa is being considered for approval for a later date?..... That's wicked!

@wealth360 your cgpa is pretty strong and it depends on if you are going for meng or masc.if you are applying for meng you do not need any supervisor just apply with your cgpa a good sop and references you should get admitted but if you are applying for masc I advice you secure a supervisor first so as to increase your chances of getting admitted. and as for ielts and TOEFL you can disregard it.its waived for Nigerian students but if you can also get a letter from your university stating you were taught in English great but if you can't its fine. I hope this helps
