Why do you assume that the image of GOD in man is all about outward looks? Angels have the external features of man like legs and hands and even hair, but the Bible never said that they were created in GOD's image.

Am inclined to tow your line of thought here with regards to the age of Earth (not man) . For, am thinking, for Adam, The Fall activated time, and time brought about aging which broughts death which let us to counting generations.

Reason abit with me. The Bible said, when God created Earth, day and night brought about seasons. This means time was passing and counting on the Earth, but that Time obviously didn't affect Man. And, because Time wasn't couageless, Man, Man was ageless and couldnt assertain how much time had passed him by.

When Man fell, Time started counting on or agaisnt man.
Scientists are using the rocks and animal fossils to assertain how old the earth is, to that i can agree, for we do not know how many millions of years the earth had existed before Adam knew what time was and had a reason to start counting.

The Young Creationists believe the earth is 6000 or so years old, by calculating geneologies, but what about the time that had elasped behind Adam's Fall.

I ask myself this everytime, ' Was the Timelessness and agelessness of the then Man binding on animals too, or were the animals growing old and dying?


Today we are told that, there are some animals which are extinct, could it be they grew old died and got extinct before the Fall or shortly after the Fall?

This, to some extent, makes me think that the earth is not just 6000 yrs old as we are made to believe.

In the past I thought it was physical likeness but I discovered that it has to do with mental , social , moral likeness . We are intelligent , we know good or evil and we can interact socially . God is omniscient , God knows good and evil and God has a social nature in the sense that he interacts with men and intervenes in the affairs of men . I believe the literal account of Bible creation.

However, you should think twice because angels possess the physical attributes of man like eyes, mouth, ears, legs, hands, thighs, etc. Even lower animals possess these attributes. Yet, the Bible says that only man was created in the image of GOD.

That should make you realise that the image of GOD in man is not about physical properties.

When you also realise that no man has seen GOD(the Father) at any time(Jn. 1:18), you would realise that you don't even know what He looks like. But we are created in His image.

The ape and human chromosomes are remarkably divergent and too different for "ape to human evolution" theory to adequately explain. For example, the human Y chromosome has twice as many genes as the chimpanzee Y chromosome and the chromosome structures are not at all similar.

The concept of light in the universe was created on the first day. When the light was yet not created, "darkness was upon the face of the deep."(Gen. 1:2). I admit there are things GOD has not revealed to us, for example, how He was able to make the sun a source of light(finding that out will probably answer many questions). When we get to Heaven, we will know all these, anyway.

It was on that same day that GOD ordained the "day" to be the period when there is light, and the night to be the period when there is darkness.
