This is a tough choice ma nigga.

Both are into conscious rap,

both are conservative,

Both uses their lyrics to address social issues (a lot), But J Cole does it more.

Both Have entered the mainstream industry.

Kendrick gets more features.(Because Cole will always air his views it doesn't matter what the songs about)

They both have lyrical prowess

Cole is like Nas, Kendrick is like Jay Z.

So in my own opinion

Kendrick is the leader. Because Kendrick is still ready to conform(although not entirely), He will still say that thing that you want to hear and still take a jab at you. So anybody can really listen to Kendrick.

Its mostly hardcore hip hop heads (like me). That usually listen to Cole. Mainstream fans can't Just Fvcks with J Coles music.

So for that Kendrick Wins. For creating a style that appeal to both the mainstream and Hardcore rap fans.

I can go on and on about these two.

but y'all should listen to ab-soul though, That dude is underrated. Even Kendrick admitted he was a better rapper than him.

I love listening to J.Cole's albums, dude speaks like an old man giving his grandkids advice, he is too mature for this other rappers. Kendrick is pure fire no doubt but I love when he raps like a normal human "mostly on his features" lol than the way he did on his last album "too complex for me biko". I Bleep with them heavy and cant pick one over the other.

You guys are very sentimental. I'm not even a DRAKE fan but facts are facts. Do you know that Future / young thug are classified as rappers? Drake raps and he sings. You cannot in all honesty say he Isn't a rapper. He has broken and set records on billboards, Grammy's, spotify, iTunes, cutting Major deals left and right. You think that happens to any Tom dick and Harry? Drake is in a League on his own NONE of these guys can do the numbers he's doing NONE. when J Cole and Kendrick Lamar are going 1x platinum , Drake is already 6x Platinum. I watch Interviews, podcasts and periscopes and if JOE BUDDEN- who is feuding with Drake can confess on HOT97 to Ebro and later Chalamange Tha god, that Drake is the Biggest rapper in the Game to the acknowledgement of these HIP HOP HEADS then I don't think your opinion is OBJECTIVE enough. I totally disagree.in fact it's the other way round.Cole OS in fact easily understandable&has more mass appeal than Kendrick.There are mixed views from a lot of fans on TPAB Cos it was a complex album.From the first time till today,I still play FHD cos it's a straight album but TPAB took me more time to understand.Cole is more mainstream and less hardcore than lamar

Same here man...that moment when you gotta open genius. Com on the side to assimilate his bars. But I tell you, I adore Cole and Kendrick. One of my favorite Kendrick track is "U.O.E.N.O freestyle ft Ab-Soul, school boyQ, Jay Rock and future" Damn they spit real fire on that track.
