Shame of a nation. It's highly unfortunate and very shameful as nation that the NFF can't pay our victorious Team at the AFCON, "Champions" for that matter. It's sardonic I must say. What message are we passing to the Youths of this country, what message are we passing to other countries, even Cameroon that came second have celebrated and even paid, why must our own be different?? At least for once let's cover our shame . It's about time that redundant minister of sports what his name is got sacked he has continued to show that he is absolutely daft in sports matters . They claim there's no money to pay them, yet there's funds for the Presidency to Jet out of the country week in week out. To the players I urge them not to be discouraged, we love and remain proud of you, do not give up. 6 Likes |

This is totally appalling. Speaks volumes of the kind of horrible and insensitive government we have at the center. Never before in this country has anything as this taken place. You'll risk everything to bring honor to your country, while the government of Buhari will turn its back on and deny you of the basic allowance that you deserve. None of the presidents in the past had subjected its sportsmen and women to such brazen deprivation and denial of their dues. That's how the Olympic teams in football and other sports were denied funding during the Olympic tourney, bringing shame and embarrassment to our country. They're are even owing the super Eagles coach many months salary, someone who has turned the fortunes of our football team. Curses upon Curses on your Buhari! You are a shameless bastard. You and your family will never know peace for subjecting the masses to untold hardship. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Sadly, the country is in recession. My only grouse is that these girls were not informed prior to the tournament that there will be no monetary reward this time. Nigeria has got much more important issues to deal with....like the over 2 million starving IDPs living in conditions similar to concentration camps. Those of you who think it's insensitive for the government not to pay these girls, maybe you should show the same passion for the hungry people displaced by Boko Haram. This is not the time to throw dollars around, the country is in a recession. At least, these girls had all their expenses incurred paid for by the government, and they are also well paid by their various clubs. They don't know what hunger is. I have read people say that these girls have "worked so hard, and sacrificed so much for the country". There are soldiers earning a pittance and fighting Boko Haram, they deserve some dollars for their hard work as well. |

What a shame! After working so hard for success and eventually achieving it, this government with a parochial mindset has REFUSED to pay them what's due. Sometimes I just see myself asking why I was born in this country... #fullofregrets 4 Likes |

That Minister of sports and Amaju Pinnick are a birds of a feather. They represent all things that are bad in Nigeria. Imagine minister of sport saying that they don't know that the girls will win the cup. We are on top of that, the Chairman of NFF begin to threatening the girls that are demanding for their pay. Rubish |

What I am seeing is almost making me cry. After all the effort to be the best and win d cup. No appreciation for d female national heroes. My spirit is painting me for this type of treatment. How will the next generation put in their best if this is their reward for being the best. Nigeria an oil producing country? This is so so bad. 2 Likes |
