If it can get its acts together, Nigeria can be the strongest footballing nation on the planet. But it can't, so it won't. Nigeria is a Cleptocracy where billions of oil money in dollars instead of being used to develop the Youths, Sports, Infrastructure and the Economy at large, lines the pocket of one big man or the other. This is the most miserable country on the planet. Fighting Corruption is not just about preventing Public funds from being looted, recovering looted Public funds but also about using such funds to build and improve Infracstructure, create employment, and encourage the Citizenry who have done the nation proud, in a timely fashion.

The money is in TSA bro!
The problem is not winning bonus but the entire bonuses right from group stage, what they did was to pay 500k to them when they refused to play in the semis
The NFF didn't submit a proper budget! That is the problem! This has nothing to do with TSA. Aside from that, if we really want a long term solution to this rubbish, the FG must leave the FA to use the money it collects from FIFA for all these competitions. It is fraudulent to collect money from two different sources for the same thing. If the FA can't raise money, they should'nt enter Nigeria for any competition. Simple!
The next controversy that will start now will be about how the FA has not paid the eagles German coach for three months. The minister publicly told the FA from the onset not to hire that man and that it would not be responsible for his salary, they didn't listen. Nobody should dare mention buhari when the coach resigns and blasts Nigeria. Everyone should complain to FIFA because FIFA, not the government, is in charge of the FA in Nigeria.

I swear down... people don't realise this. Maybe because we keep saying Jonathan regime was better but the truth is even under a military junta, whether bangida, Abdul Salam or Abacha, except for his own military regime then, Nigeria wasn't this bad. The so call Buhari is such bad luck to Nigerian government. As life was tough under him then, so it is now and even if he spends another term, it's only more hardship.

Things are really bad and life is becoming more irrelevant by the day... Nigerians should do something bout this before it gets out of hand.

They almost started this drama immediately they won the final match. I wonder if this would attract good clubs hiring the services of the protesters.

Even NYSC members would no embark on this disgraceful protest if their allowance is delayed.

Pls, don't trivialise the issue. This is not bout the National Assembly or governors and their personal lifestyles, it's about an incompetent president that spent more than 6months in selecting a stupid minister who know nothing but wear a red beret like sports is a cult group. The minister who is the supervising officer of that ministry should be proactive and stop this kind of anomaly. Even if NFF is funded by FIFA, it still doesn't take the fact that they still have a dotted responsibility of making sure that institution represents Nigeria well in the international community of which presently, they both are failing to do. If these goes on CNN, you can imagine the huge embarrassment on the government. All FIFA monies to NFF goes to government account by the way not to personal accounts

This is rubbish. World over, the FA is responsible for sponsoring teams to competitions. I have personally witnessed fund raisers where football associations organise dinners to raise funds for their teams to participate in competitions. In Nigeria, the FA enters Nigeria into a competition without money and makes promises to the teams. They lazily go to the government to make budget proposals, when the NFF is not a parastatal of the ministry! When the team eventually wins, they blackmail the government into paying heaven and earth for winning just so they can chop from the largesse. Its just shameful. The annoying part is that the government can't do anything about it because NFF is answerable to FIFA only. If the government wades in, Nigeria will be banned. That's the dilemma.
When FIFA itself is a corrupt organisation, its not surprising that the federation is neck deep in graft.

You are very right but again following what I heard from the minister of sport on one of the interviews, why the bulk still stop at the ministers table is the fact that some necessary things that needed to be done to make NFF autonomous is still not yet in place. When FIFA sends money, it goes to the sport ministry account and not NFF. The prize money goes to the country and not NFF. NFF only withdraws from it based on how much they know they have access to.if not, the issue doesn't require NFF to raise budget to FG or ministry.

We all know that NFF needs a lot of work to be independent. Raise funds for them self and other things but governments role is indispensable to that organisation. It's just lack of competence that both parties can not manage the situation well.

It's not like British government doesn't support football association but they keep it cordial knowing who and when to intervene
