I said the primary or basic reason for our recession is the drop in foreign earnings as a direct consequence of the drop in global oil price.
Countries affected aswell include Russia, Saudi Arabia etc.

If you have any reason for the recession you consider more basic, state it. You dont have to blow inadmissible grammar to buttress your point.. keep it simple and correct.
