[quote author=ProudlyKenyan post=51918090]Nope. It coz Kenya and South Africa cities are planned. You can distinguish a slum. Nigeria cities are not planned or zoned. You can go to Dar, Adis and many Africa countries (including Kenya new cities) and you'll see the same situation. You either call the town a slum or something close to it. The slum shanty sit next to office block which is adjacent to warehouse which is next to school. Cities with colonial history like Nairobi, Joburg, Harare, Windhoek, Capetown and such have slums coz the European enforced strict planning and zonning.Nairobi to it's credit has continued with measured success to enforce those plans. I mean Nairobi masterplan was copied by Singapore coz the British did a good job...there are areas for everything including forests, rivers, animal parks. Lagos is one big slum...so big they had to start a new town..ABUJA...which was an attempt to plan and zone things. Now i know u're stupid.abj was built because lagos wasnt central. |

kongobi: A country of 45 million people with a capital of just 696km2 called Nairobi. Only 3 million people stay in Nairobi and 6 million people if we add the metros. We have report from a reputable media that There are approximatly 2.5 million slum dwellers in about 200 settlements in Nairobi representing 60% of the Nairobi population and occupying just 6% of the land. Kibera houses about 250,000 of these people. Kibera is the biggest slum in Africa and one of the biggest in the world. You have been showing us the same areas since the beginning of the thread. Please what happened to the remaining 39 million people in kenya? Are they still in the forest doing MAU MAU like your forefathers? |

Just see these Habesha women and see how fascinating and lovely they look. This is what i expect from Kenyans but they just fall short. 1 Like

iblawi: You know I got a link about Nigerians and toilets. How 103 million dont know what a toilet is. I also have a link about how Nigerians try to hide poverty and they are embarrassed by it and faking figures, and about how 64% of Nigeria lives is complete poverty. Yes people live in slums here, I can give you a link of how the government is building houses to eliminate slums. We have a vision, we call it Vision 2030 , we are eliminating slums, building hospitals and roads, increasing electricity coverage, making education free, student loans to everyone in uni, building infrastructure. We are on some economic viagra 1 Like |

Vision 2030 Kenya Vision 2030 (Swahili: Ruwaza ya Kenya 2030) is the country's development programme from 2008 to 2030. It was launched on 10 June 2008 by President Mwai Kibaki.[1][2] Its objective is to help transform Kenya into a "newly industrializing, middle-income (income exceeding World's average currently at US$10000) country providing a high quality of life to all its citizens by 2030 in a clean and secure environment."[3] Developed through "an all-inclusive and participatory stakeholder consultative process, involving Kenyans from all parts of the country," the Vision is based on three "pillars": Economic, Social, and Political.[4] The Vision's adoption comes after the country’s GDP growth went from 0.6% in 2002 to 6.1% in 2006,[5] under Kibaki's Economic Recovery Strategy for Wealth and Employment Creation (ERS). The Kenya Vision 2030 is to be implemented in successive five-year plans, with the first such plan covering the period 2008–2012. Under the Vision, Kenya expected to meet its Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by the deadline in 2015, although this has not been achieved. We aint just doing things blindly, we got goals 1 Like |
