Mightyraw: It is putting solar panels and charge controller on a regular inverter setup. So you still have inverter and battery. The guy that installed mine separated the lines in the fusebox, so the AC points don't ever get powered by the inverter. |

seunajia:Yea dats what we do, We isolate the heavy system so that it wont run down the inverter, When u said u installed 2.5kva for 260k dat gat me confused Cos an average 12volt battery now is above 100k depending on the producer |

I quite understand what you mean. We also take that into consideration while installing. But with your description, the inverter is still exposed. The breaker ought to be between the load and the inverter. NoMoreTrolling: |

I'm currently in Ilorin, Kwara state, I need a 3.5kva Inverter + Batteries. I do not have money for solar Panels for now. I do want to know which Generator capacity can charge this without any hassle if there is no electricity? And please I need sound enginner that can guide/sell for me QUALITY AND DURABILITY is the watchword. You fab contact me whatsapp ONLY: 08066920770 |

debbie: Initial cost compared to a generator or the grid is high. The generator cost substantially more to run. Solar needs no fuel and because there are no moving parts very minimal chance of mechanical failure. Cleaning your panels, equalizing and watering your batteries is the maintenance required Many people pay more than the cost of a comparable solar installation to run a generator for a few hours a day. The world has embraced solar why hasn't Nigeria You don't need research engineers to grow an industry. However Nigeria has agencies and groups dedicated to renewables and solar. Our company and other companies offer a service agreement just like the big generator companies The installations you see with problems - the equipment is not at fault. The sizing and the installation most times are the problem. We know of lots of trouble free installation. Germany and New Jersey get less irradiance than Lagos. Yet Germany can run up to 50% on solar. No brainer. Solar with hydro and wind are the proper mix. Solar alone is not enough

The amount of current generated by the solar panel will drop, but not stop being generated in most cases. And depending on your solar panel, and if you have a good mppt change controller, it will try to get the maximum current available from the solar panels. eraly: |

Lanjonath: And pls, is solar panel "inverter" different frm d normal regular "inverter" or one can use d regular inverter for/wit d solar panel? Y am asking is because I wanna convince my bro to do solar inverter(though he has d normal regular inverter. 5kva + 4 200ah batteries) but he thinks he might need to buy anoda different inverter for d solar setup. I am not sure abt it n dats y am asking. Thanks |
Re: How Efficient Are Solar Electricity Power Systems? by SolnergyPower: 1:17am On Dec 15, 2016 |
What your brother has is the standard inverter and what your brother needs are... a. Solar Panels b. Solar Charge Controller c. DC Cables d. Circuit Breakers As shown image below, when the solar panel traps charges from the sun, it passes the energy through the solar charge controller to the batteries for the batteries to charge. The solar charge controller regulates how the battery is charged effectively. There is a hybrid inverter, this type of inverter has an inbuilt solar charge controller. So in this case, the solar panels are connected straight into the inverter. eraly:

Yes a solar inverter is different from a regular inverter, but a regular inverter system setup can be tweaked to work with both PHCN power supply and solar panels, so you brother won't have to change his inverter. This is a system installation my firm handles all the time. eraly: |
