The big question that we need to ask ourselves is 'how much is the official price for this passport of a thing?'. You and i will be shocked abt d official price. I got to know it one day & I wept for my country. Because we know that we are not paying anything close to the official price and we cannot do anything abt. Can anybody tell us the official price. The answer is no. Well for the first time that many will hear the official price. It is N15000 for 32page, I think 64page is N18000. However, d least that I heard getting a 32page is N22k if your person is very strong & not d greedy type. Well, I got mine for N25k when d actual money is N15k. My country Nigeria, wch way forward. Now to the govt that is crying for increment, I ask them from what price and to what price? Also, I like to know d reason for the increment. If it is because we are printing from abroad, why can't we start printing in country from now? Even if it is a curse for Nigeria not to move forward , I think we can say no and begin to do something different from now. Thank you.

You can't go to any passport office in Nigeria now and get it within two weeks unless it's urgent like medical or you follow back door, they will be telling you that they don't have materials and government is planning to increase the price. What a nation!

I write with utmost disdain with the deep shit the Change Mantra Has Caused Nigerians.Tinubu is to be blamed for taking the bait of an Ex General in Person of Buhari. Suddenly Tinubu is no longer in the News.I wonder the Relationship between Air Fare & International Passport.I trade in The East African Region,Kenya,Uganda,Tanzania and Rwanda. You need to see the reaction on the Faces of these Countries Immigration officials each time you bring out a Green Nigerian Passport. The Stereotype and All makes me come to a conclusion that The Nigerian passport has no Value even in the West south and East African Members not to Talk of Europe and America.I regret i am Nigerian.I think maybe in the long run, there should be a break-up .If we could do practicals with the Change mantra and fell for Buhari,s Trick,I think it will not be a bad idea to breakup and see what each Geo-political zone can do for itself. There is no rule of law in the country called Nigeria.Very Soon they will start selling its Citizens like it was done during the era of Slavetrade. What a Useless Country.

How much hike of the fees do you think will deter those whose minds are made up on fleeing the country? The hike can't be more than a 100%; that would still make it cheaper than an American Visa fee.

Very soon people will stop traveling, but will it stop there? No I guess. I think Nigerians should boycott passports for now, but will we? No way. We thrive in every foolishness the institutions throw at us, hence their brazen attitude to keep coming back at us with more.

Maybe NIS will start charging us for not coming to apply for passports.

ABUJA— The cost of acquiring a Nigerian international passport is set to rise in the next
couple of days, as the Nigeria Immigration
Service, NIS, yesterday, said it had commenced
the process to review its charges. According to the service, it is no longer
possible to produce the passports at the
current rates. Comptroller-General of the NIS, Mr. Muhammad
Babandede, disclosed this at the flagging off
ceremony for the capacity building
programme on Information Communication
Technology, ICT, for Immigration officers,
organized in conjunction with Huawei Technologies Company, in Abuja. The ICT training programme, according to
Managing Director, Abuja Office of Huawei
Technologies, Mr. Tank Liteng, is part of its
Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, and had
been carefully designed for 500 staff of the NIS
for a period of five days in batches of 50 officers per training time at nine different
locations across the country. Liteng expressed optimism that the
programme would empower officers of the
NIS with appropriate ICT skills, awareness and
soft skills that give competitive advantage
globally to catch up with the world trends,
change Nigeria into the ICT talents centre of the region and the world. Commenting on the plans to hike the charges
for the issuance of the Nigerian passport,
Babandede, who did not disclose the take-off
date for the new charges, stated that the NIS
had written to the Presidency on this issue,
and as soon as it receives approval, it would proceed with the review, which would also
enable it to deliver better services. He further warned that if the prices were not
reviewed, its revenue to the country would be
negatively affected. He said: “It is not easy for us to pay for
booklets because of the cost. You will agree
with me that air tickets have doubled in this
country. You are aware that a lot of things
have changed, but the passport fees have not
changed. www.vanguardngr.com/2016/12/poly-teachers-threaten-industrial-action-over-bsc-hnd-dichotomy/
So what, must it also change?
Re: Immigration To Hike Price For International Passport by brojoshua: 12:02pm On Dec 15, 2016
More hardship for Nigerians. Immigration has its price for international passport but the corrupt immigration officers will add their own extra charge or pad it. Corruption everywhere or has the taking of extra charges by the immigration officers been demolished because the last time I renewed my passport I was made to pay more than the normal price immigration charges.

.

It doesn't matter which side of the divide anyone of us is, facts are

1. This is nothing but internal revenue generation. From drivers license, voice and data, forex, taxes, customs duties ( remember some commodities are no longer legally allowed through land border)and now travelling Passport.
Incumbent serving ministers are cunning and cleverly pushing the bill to the citizens. They have attempted to hike electricity and fuel but met with stiff resistance. However it will surely come, but covertly.
2. PMB's present administration will surely but definitely suffer all round condemnation from all concerned, friends and foes. We must also remember the loses incured on oil and gas as result of militancy in the Niger Delta region.

The political elites are not helping matters with their jumbo size allowances, pensions, salaries, for themselves and their dependants.

2019 indeed is a decisive year.
