damogul: Another one is the Epicurian paradox . I mean the refutations are right there , it has been for ages . But you see them repeating the same thing. AGAIN and AGAIN If they are so smart like they claim , why haven't they given answers to these paradoxes themselves - another proof they just purport themselves as smart people . Even people who developed those paradoxes attacking God are not smart Intelligence and atheism are mutually incompatible 1 Like 1 Share |

Ranchhoddas: You seem not to get the whole gist. If its Bad its Gods fault..if its good then it has nothing to do with God. If its Communism then atheism is the animus but if one atheist is good then that atheist represents all atheists. Do you get it now? 1 Like 1 Share |

jonbellion: End? Did it even start? We are simply having fun and using this as a distraction from the stress of the day. There has never been an argument and never will. What you are insinuating is like a re-enactment of SPARTA. Going into battle with 300men against hundreds of thousands. But in this case its against Billions. Go figure! 2 Likes 1 Share |

felixomor: Methinks christians believe life is meaningless too. Back then in church we used to sing .... this might be the last time that we shall meet again, we live today and tomorrow we die, what is is the meaning of life? And then we have Ecc 1: 2/14 "Vanity upon vanity..." "Be careful for nothing... "says Jesus. IOW you can be careless for everything, what does it matter? |

damogul: they keep twisting , turning . I was peeved at that response because that President Jose was not even a communist , he was some atheist (arguably ) who became president after communism ended in his country . It was a blatant red herring so people would jump into false conclusions . He also started asking how many killings did President Jose order . When the guy was not even a communist leader That hopefullanlord guy is very deceptive and dishonest . |

rejosom: The bolded means "DO NOT WORRY OR DO NOT DESPAIR" The song simply lets you know that you are in the world but not of the world so do not get too attached to it. Play your part by adding value to everything and everyone for the sake of your final destination. Solomons comment about vanity upon vanity is a warning against greed and selfishness. 1 Like 1 Share |

rejosom: Balance solomons comment with LOVE NOT THE WORLD, NEITHER THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD FOR THOSE THAT LOVE THE WORLD DO NOT LOVE GOD. Its still talking about greed and selfishness. THE WORLD means the content, the goods, the wealth for THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL.. However we have been commanded to love men and humanity as those are the truly valuable ones which was why the bible says WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT A MAN IF HE GAINS THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSES HIS SOUL. |

damogul: Someone made that same statement and it is being blown out of proportion, and here you are trying to explain to me what "Everything is vanity means". I am not an atheist, but sometimes we castigate others for the same thing we do. |

CeoMYN: CeoMYN: damogul: 7:14pm On Nov 22 I deliberately put "dread" there as i knew that would get your attention and it did Listen...We create our world and unmake them. You cannot have a sane environment without first wanting to be sane yourself. Its like taking a wild animal into an organized house and setting it free...You can imagine the chaos..However when you make a conscious effort to first train and condition the animal to the environment then it would help keep it sane. You need to first organise yourself internally which was why i said what i said in my first comment. I am offering friendship. At least let me see if i can help bring some sanity into your environment. A listening ear, an idea sharer etc Being angry at yourself is normal and you are not the first who has been but making a choice to do something about it is the crux of the matter. Can we be friends? |
Re: Religion: An Illusion That Works Well by Nobody: 2:52pm On Dec 16, 2016 |
damogul: I wasn't lamenting about my life and family, I was just mad at myself for believing lies. I knew Jesus is what you would bring to the table and that is not help to me. |
Re: Religion: An Illusion That Works Well by damogul: 2:53pm On Dec 16, 2016 |
CeoMYN: CeoMYN: damogul: 7:44pm On Nov 22 Listen kid it would be too easy to ask you to unburden your heart or to ask you to share what your views are that people do not share with you ....but that would not be the solution. Just listening to you without fixing the deeper problem would not make the surface problem go away. So i will not ask you to tell me what the real issues are here but would rather opt to make it a bit more personal....yeah thats how nice i can be. Can we take this out of this place? I have an identity i never hide as i see no reason for that so do not pretend. I would understand if you refused to take this talk out of this place but hey what have you got to loose? This thread has got 68 views already and of these 68 people who have viewed i seem to be the only one genuinely offering transparent friendship and help. Wanna give it a shot? |
Re: Religion: An Illusion That Works Well by rejosom(m): 2:53pm On Dec 16, 2016 |
damogul: Sir, we are saying the same thing if you hate the world and everything in it, you hate life. That is the purposelessness of life. WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT A MAN IF HE GAINS THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSES HIS SOUL.Meaning... it shall profit a man a whole lot if he looses (better decides to loose) the whole world to gain his soul. Life in the world is useless and not to be cherished even you confirms it. |
