Pasta is NOT made from pasta. That statement doesn't even make sense. All pastas are made from flour derived from grains eg wheat.
Spaghetti is long and thin but rounded. Linguine is also long and thin but flat.
But saying they are all the same is insulting to the Italian culture because even though they are essentially made from the same ingredients, different dishes require different type of pasta.
