bellong: Thank you for your response Bellong. Please can you advise on getting a car for $600 - what to expect and so on. Pardon the lack of substance in my post. I am based in UK and I know you can get a functional car that costs similar to $600 but my brother in Queensland has been advised that he has to spend at least $2,500 to get a good car. Please any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks 1 Like |

^^^^ What to expect is the normal wear and tear of an old car. If the person knows about car, he should be able to identify any that will create big problem after purchase. For peace of mind, he should get a car of about $1500. Do a good inspection and test drive before committing to buy. Some junkies who have very good cars sell them at ridiculous cheap price when they are desperate to buy drugs. 1 Like |

kolawolead:Buy cars with logbook or buy a car from a dealer, it may be dearer but you have a peace of mind that if anything goes wrong you can swap for something else. If the person is on budget, they can buy a cheap car but watch out for crack/blown head gasket, ball joint, overheating, and transmission problems. Meanwhile it pays to buy cars within $3-4k mark, they may have high kms but are still good cars. In australia you don't really look at km on cars if they are constantly serviced. You have to drive long distance for work and other things. 3 Likes |

I don't think I can effort to pay that now as I have only about 8000$ home and abroad. Pls gurus in the house any idea of what I can do? |

Maraizu19:If the course you're going for is CRICOS registered, you should be fine. Have it in mind that those course are under assessment level 3. You need more documents to convince your case officer. May be those who fits there visas under AL3 can furnish you with the documents they submitted. |
