I already told her so lol........she thinks posting photos of dressed up women here is proof Kenyans walk naked. She doesn't realize no Kenyan here would waste time posting photos of dressed up people. She belongs to the kitchen.

Kenyans are definitely enjoying this thread the most. I mean, it must feel so good to be able to compare themselves to Nigeria, the "supposed giant" and to also think they have a paradise compared to Nigeria. The almighty Nigeria seems not to be so mighty afterall. It's a 200 billion dollar economy, NBS just bribed IMF and WB officials, afterall Nigeria is infamous for corruption. It's just a poo hole with no real Nobel prize winners. Wole Shoyinka, Chinua Achebe hoodwinked those titles. Ngozi Iweala is irrelevant globally, and is Adesina on the continent. Thika Highway is Africa's best. 2000MW of power equates to 24hrs power supply, are you still looking for another paradise on earth?

Anything to just massage their surpressed ego of so many years on the continent while the infamous Nigeria gets pushed over since her ego had been overbloated all along.
Add to that, the fact that Nigeria is in one horrendous recession while Kenyas economy is growing at double digits I guess. Nigeria currently has no enough money to bribe IMF and WB officials to change the narrative in her favor like they did for the economy.

However, the good thing is, there are several threads that have lasted several years on nairaland, this will probably be one of them, so we can continue to keep track of both nations successes over the coming years.

But for now, we are not going to forget how Kenya is the best thing on earth, the shanguila mankind had always looked for smiley

Sorry we have far more than that here already. All highways in Abuja are 10 lanes minimum and most Highways in Lagos are also 10 lanes and the rest are currently being expanded. Whole soyinka got the award almost 20 years before a Kenya got it.

Well I will introduce to what we call real developmental project. The largest industrial complex in Africa.

Here is some of what we learned:

Over $4 billion worth of equipment currently sits on the site.
The project is slated to cost $14 billion (N2.8 trillion) of which Dangote is contributing $7 billion in equity.
The project site is larger than Victoria Island. It is located on 2135 hectares of land in Epe, Lagos near the Lekki Free Zone
It is the largest industrial complex in Africa
Work goes on, on the site, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
World Record 2.72 million accident free hours recorded on site, without a single lost time to injuries
It is the largest single train grass roots refinery in the world with a processing capacity of 650,000 BPSD
image: http://herald365.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/12185209/Dangote-Refinery-Site.jpg

Dangote Refinery Site
Dangote Group brought in the world’s #1, #2, and #5 sand dredgers to sand fill the site. 60% of the land being swampy. So far these dredgers have reclaimed 13 million m³ out of 30 million m³
During construction, the project will employ over 25,000 Nigerians
Dangote is investing over $7 billion (N1.4 trillion) in the project
It is the largest single train refinery project on the planet
When this project comes online, Nigeria will save a minimum of $10 billion a year on imports
The Ammonia component of the plant will produce 2.8 million tonnes of Urea
Dangote is producing its own electricity to power the plant and by so doing is saving 75% costs. Dangote produces electricity at a rate that is significantly cheaper than the Federal Government. Dangote’s cost is $400,000/MW, while Federal Government is $2,000,000/MW
image: http://herald365.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/12185158/Dangote-Refinery-Site-2.jpg

Dangote Refinery Site 2

All the civil engineering is done by Nigerian companies
The plant has an export value of $6 billion per annum, meaning Dangote’s efforts will increase the amount of foreign exchange in Nigeria’s foreign reserves by at least 40% of current value on a yearly basis
Dangote said when this project comes on line, his friend Femi Otedola will save at least N26 per litre on millions of litres of diesel and petrol which his companies import annually. This savings will be passed on to the consumers and it will take a lot of pressure off the banks
Billions of Naira were paid to acquire the land and to settle the existing communities. More money was also allocated and spent to relocate the existing communities
This project will restore the dignity of Nigeria, a crude producing country that has for years gone abroad to meet its demand for refined products

Dangote Emefiele

Refined products to be produced at the plant include but is not limited to propane, petrol, Jet Fuel, Diesel, Kerosene, Carbon Black, Polypropylene, Polyethylene
The United States Trade and Development Agency is supporting this project with $997 million

You find Kenyans asking questions like ''if Nigeria's GDP is so high why are Nigerians leaving their country like that?'' Just imagine the ignorance.

Have they asked the Chinese that question? China's economy is even larger than the United states' in the GDP PPP ranking and yet Chinese people are even deported here in Africa.
Indians, Mexicans, Egyptians e.t.c also migrate all over the world yet their economies are large.
You ignorant peeps forget that developing countries with such large populations find it difficult to meet the needs of everyone no matter how rich they are.

In Kenya we do not hide the slums. We fix them. In Nigeria you hide that isht so that you dont look like a shitty country. If you are that rich how come 60-70% of your population lives below the poverty line? How come 100 million plus people defecate in public? Coz they cannot access toilets. Actually some reports which tell us about your gdp say lagos is 66% slum, dubbed as the megacity of slums. They are too many to count over there I guess

Actually not all Kenyans drink blood my very bitter sister. We agreed earlier it is the Maasai, and we showed you how they dress. Kenya has it cultures too, there are many Nilotic people who practice different cultures, there are many Bantu people who have their own set of culture, there are cushitic people who have their culture too, there are Indians who celebrate their culture, people at the cost have a lot of Arabic influenced culture that we call the swahili culture etc. You cannot group 44 million people as one cluster culturally, now can you??
Did you know the whole of East African Federation has 30 million less people that Nigeria?? And everyone knows about tourism in Kenya, entertainment in Nigeria only and mostly serves sub saharan africa. The people who like your uncreative music that is. I have been viewing this thread from the beginning and the only aspect which i can clearly agree that Kenyans beat Nigeria is tourism & Airline transportation.

In aspects like Sports, Military and Power supply i'd say it's a tie.
(Kenyans will argue about power supply but they should not forget that even they have more stable power supply, Nigeria's power supply meets 99% of it's citizens while in Kenya only 60% of it's citizens have access to power supply).

Nigeria is just far ahead of Kenya in :-

1) Economic size and GDP per capital (no need to explain)

2) Technology and ICT

3) Entertainment industry (East africa combined cannot match Nigeria here)

4) Presence of Slums (it will take Kenya another 50 years to have a clean and sane city the size of Abuja with no single slum, even Capetown has slums).

5) Urbanization (Nigeria is 10 times more urbanized than Kenya).

6) Individual achievements and success (no single billionaire in Kenya, even with all the Indians & whites running the economy)

7) Industrialization.

cool Banking sector (no comparison).

9) Educational sector
(Nigeria is better here because we have over a dozen universities than can be ranked well here in Africa unlike Kenya with only 2 or 3 standard universities and Nigerian schools are damn cheap with school fees as low as $100 per session making it accesible to even the poorest people)

10) A more refined and beautiful African culture
(The only culture Kenya seems to have is that of the savage masais. Imagine Kenyans wearing western clothes to both traditional and social gatherings, so sad).

11) Private sector
(Almost every good thing in Kenya is fully or partly owned by the govt. A single person in Nigeria is building the world's biggest refinery, infact all the achievements of the top 100 richest Kenyans put together- both Indians, whites and blacks cannot equal this Nigerian individual giant, not to talk of others in Nigeria)

12) Rich history
Infact when talking about rich history in Africa, Kenya is just nowhere to be found. Nigeria had many great empires and kingdoms in pre colonial africa, our people were trading across the world already, some of us were already reading and writing and when the colonial masters came they were shocked and they even looted our artefacts to their own country while all Kenyans were still running naked in forests at that time drinking animal blood.

So many more points which i will continue to list
