Just thought i should share some of the parts i produced during the week.
I should have snap the machining process but the idea just struck me now. When next i'm updating this thread, i will endeavor to do that.

A damaged sprocket on a carton corrugation machine that needed replacement....

...Due to the non availability of a ready made one, i decided to make this one. A 20 teeth 170mm*18mm sprocket.

Guy I know funding is a major setback but if you can start small, you'll rather employ managers of those companies you look forward to work in.

The most selling parts and of course I inferior product is motorcycle parts. If you can put in a hundred of the inner and outer sprockets with a better quality, I promise you'll remember me.

Sliding block of a carton stitching machine. The block operate in 'to-and-fro' motion.

When the block (other components attached to the block not shown) moves forward, it pulls a stitching wire and feeds it into a chamber through which the wire comes out at a pre-set length then a blade moves downward and cut the wire at the exact point of the pre-set length

true, funding is a major set-back. Machine tools are quite expensive for a single person to set up.

Presently, i'm working but the environment is not a favourable one. One needs to be appreciated not threatened to be sacked despite all your efforts which have been saving the company from excessive spending. Most of the machine parts i've produced are not readily available in nigeria. They have to be ordered for from india or china.


i need a change of environment to where i will be encouraged to use my skills in developing the company. It's not all about the money all the time. Just need a place i can work with a peaceful mind not where you are always in fear

I cast this spur gear from cast iron in a foundry before mounting it on the lathe to machine it down to the precise dimentions, after which i mounted it on the milling machine to perfectly cut the teeth.

This one is called a FINGER. I made it from brass using the casting method after which i used the pedestal grinding machine to reduce the thickness from 7mm to 3mm.
Why i used the casting method is because i couldn't get a brass plate of 3mm thickness. One might wonder why the brass material was wasted like that (from 7mm to 3mm. Thereby wasting 4mm of the brass material). Reason is cos it is almost impossible to manually cast a part of less than 5mm thickness and expect it to be strong enough except you used machines like the hydraulic or pneumatic stamping machine.

I got machine shop experience durin my sec sch after closing 4rm sch as apprentice which exposed me as wel to foundry, welding& fabrication. Thanks for dat title is my long time goal an am wrkin toward it.

don't relent in achieving your dream of becoming an engineer. Many of my friends gave up along the way.
The experience was like that of recruits joining the army. Only 1/4 of them will stand to the end of the training.

During my set in GTC, about 85 of us got admitted but only about 28 of us stood to the end.
Some left due to the hostile environment cos mehn, it was like we were in the army. I just don't want to mention some of the things we went through cos many won't believe me and secondly, i don't want to frightened some weak minded niggas. Lol.
