It's simple. It's due to the fact that MMM crashed so some people who are involved in the bitcoin Ponzi scheme are selling so as not to 'lose' all of their money as in the case of MMM. However, PLS NOTE, BITCOIN IS A DIGITAL CURRENCY. It is used to make payment for purchases online so there's definitely no way it's gonna crash in fact we now have bitcoin ATMs and some stores around the world accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment. You don't pay tax on Bitcoin so in a way it's a legit way of evading tax

The price of a commodity is directly influenced by it's importance to the buyers ,if a buyer sees a normal blue pen and he needs it desperately ,he can pay 5000N for it because at that time it is highly important this maybe regardless of the fact that elsewhere the own only cost 300N.
Like I have always said ,ppl in Nigeria don't know the value of bitcoin apart from its importance which is tagged directly to mmm and ponzi schemes.

The truth is bitcoin will rise again with time ,most likely January,the awareness has been created and even those not interested in it have started getting curious. Most especially with the cbn mention of it. Most likely too mmm will bounce back and many new ponzi schemes will come up next year. The value will surely rise over time . The issue with the Nigeria market is that they overdo things

Btc isn't crashing in Nigeria, it's going down to the actual price after excessive demand had made it skyrocketed.

Btc to naira @preev is officially 310/$, but since market forces determine price, it had always been higher than this. Let's hope it rests within the dollar blackmarket value in Nigeria which is within the 460/$ range.

A lot of bitcoin sellers in nigeria are doing what economist call "beggar thy neighbor" or a race to the bottom. One seller sells $40k bitcoins below market price, on a market doing at least $350k everyday, and everybody follow like sheeps. Bitcoins true value in Nigeria is roughly 3.5% of black market. Given the advantages it has over cash.
