Thats nice, you must also understand that it is not exclusive to your country nigeria is developing lagos-calabar intercity coastal rail line,lagos-kano light rail, lagos to ibadan etc, abuja to kaduna is completed already, lagos blue line light rail is nearing completion, while kano light will begin next year, its construction, the portharcourt mono,1st phase is done, but the new governor had refused its continuity n expansion,so you must understand nigeria is not folding her arms,we are upto something too.

Of course sir i acknowledge the fact that many African countries are seriously mulling over building new infrastructure.... but the question is since Nigeria has the "biggest" GDP as far as theory is concerned why is Nigeria not growing at the pace reflecting its GDP. Kenya withs it far less GDP is implementing infrastructural development at far faster rate than most countries. The percentage of growth in Kenyas GDP has remained at a constant 6% while Nigerias GDP has remained at a constant negative.

When was the last time Nigeria experience negative growth? Most you guys think with your anus?

Nigeria's growth have being stead for almost 15 year at 6%. The economy was negative this year because we don't have enough foreign currency for our local industries to get needed materials. Oil is the major source of foreign exchange for Nigeria and it lost value from $120 per barrel to $27 per barrel. The gap is just too wide. This was the major reason why the value of naira dropped 100%. The pressure was too much on the few dollars we have and many companies need to keep their factories running with the cost of maintenance and input determined by dollar.

As for GDP, the Kenyan budget can have effects on GDP but in Nigeria private sector control most sectors of our economy.

You claim we don't have meaningful project going on but we have the largest industrial complex in Africa going on currently with capacity to produce 55.2 million liter of petrol per day, 8.8 million liters of aviation fuel per day, diesel, kerosene, fertilizer, petrochemicals, and even gas pipeline understand construction enough to power over 12,000mw of power.

We also have new seaports under construction

New airports under construction.

A whole new city under construction

Several housing estate under construction in different part of the country.

More refineries under construction in akwa ibom.

New satellite projects

Railway line under construction all over the country

Several road project under construction

Several rice milling plants

Several dams under construction

And a new hydropower station to generate 700mw under construction.

Another hydropower station to generate over 3000mw under construction.

New Naval vessel under construction

New military MRAP under construction

Etc.

FYI, most of these projects are not done by the federal government and were never part of our budget. This is enough to tell you why we are far ahead of you in development. The project a Nigerian can undertake is far from what Kenya as a country can handle.

Mind you, we are even in recession. You people will die of jealousy.

Lagos to Abuja is almost 800km and we still use less than 12 hours by road.

He just proved that Kenyans don't have good roads. Mombasa to Nairobi is just 400+km and you use 24hrs on that short journey. No wonder Kenyans are celebrating 8 lane roads.

Thank God for UN Habitat and African development bank.

I didnt know "beauty" is the measure of success & development nowadays. First of all since you are ignorant on matters train you should do some research first before yapping on a social forum with half baked info. The pictures you showed are basically trams for a better word and runs on a mono-rail system. Its mainly a passenger service type of transportation system.
The Kenyan one is a standard gauge railway system which can support both electric passenger trains & diesel run for Hooper & double cargo container freight services trains.

You are now sounding more idiotic than my earlier anticipation... First of all Machakos is a town, not a city. Secondly the Machakos-Nairobi highway is underconstructing. Thirdly we are not competing with Nigeria, we are just using it as an example of how not to destroy your country and turn it into a the poo hole it is.

kenyas should stop making pointless noise, when we say nigeria is corrupt or bad, that dosent mean that kenya is better than nigeria
It simply means that things are nt working the way it should be
Lagos is a city in nigeria and am so proud to say that Lagos is more than times 2 bigger than economy of kenya
And the infastructure in Lagos is better than Nairobi, photos don't lie...
Even the techno city that kenya plans to build is invincible, but I can happiy show u photos of Eko Atlantic city [E.A.C] which is already under construction
I think its high time we nigerians start to appreciate what we have and plans to have what we don't have.

In a country of 45 million people you still have difficulty travelling. Just 400km will take 24 hours.

Abuja to Lagos is just 12 hours by public buses with multiple stopovers and about 9 hours with private cars. it's almost 800kms by road depending on where you are going in Abuja or Lagos. Abuja to kano is even less than 5 hours and it about 450km by road.

Some useless Kenyans will come here to tell me they have better infrastructures.

Kenyans should be ashamed.

Buses take around 6 to 7 hours from Nairobi to Mombasa and it is around 500km, not 400km. Trailers may take up to 24 hours coz they travel really slowly, safety reasons. I hope you know. It will be faster coz freight trains will now travel at a top speed of 100km/h and passengers will travel at a minimum of 120kmh. And Kenya's speed limit is 80kmh to all public service vehicles. With a personal car you can travel faster

Queues snaked for no less than 30 miles through the heart of the country after heavy rains caused a landslide which swept away a vital stretch of road. That meant a phenomenal 1,500 trucks were left stuck nose to tail with nowhere to turn, leaving ...

The construction of the Abuja–Kaduna segment cost $876 million, consisting of $500 million in loans from the Exim Bank of China and the balance coming from the Nigerian government.[5] The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) originally expected to complete the project in December 2014.[6]

This is suprising coming from guys who bitch about China in Kenya btw

How many kilometers do you think Nigeria is constructing?

Lagos to Kano 1200km standard gauge railway.

Lagos Calabar 1000km+ standard gauge railway line

Portharcourt to maiduguri railway line 1400km+

Ajaokuta - South East railway.

Lagos light rail

Rivers State light rail

Kano light rail

Calabar light rail

Abuja light rail

General Electric to take over the old narrow gauge line by January 2017 for the next 20-25 years.

All this within the country to improve transportation of goods and people and you are tell me of 3000km railway that other neighbouring countries will participate in as that of Kenya.

For your information Lagos Kano standard gauge railway is still under construction and Abuja - Kaduna is another on it own and it can move at over 200km/h.
Currently, Abuja Kaduna standard gauge railway is moving at 150km/h.

Can you please tell us where you got your information from? It might be referring to the old narrow gauge line upgrade from Lagos to Kano still.

Details of Abuja-Kaduna Rail Line

Abuja-Kaduna is a 186km line with standard gauge railway tracks from Idu, near Abuja, to Kaduna in the north-western region of Nigeria. It has nine stations and features both passenger and cargo trains.

The passenger trains on the line can operate at a speed between 200km/h and 250km/h. The travel time between Abuja and Kaduna will be reduced to one hour and each passenger train can carry up to 5,000 commuters.

The cargo trains, carrying 800t of goods, will take one and half hours to travel between the two cities.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) sanctioned N1.1bn ($6.6m) in October 2014, for the procurement of two locomotives for the Abuja- Kaduna standard-gauge rail lines.

http://www.signalng.com/abuja-kaduna-railway-project-facts/

The other standard gauge line projects in the pipeline include the Lagos-Benin City (300km), Benin-Abakiliki (500km), Benin Obudu Cattle Ranch (673km), Lagos-Abuja high-speed (615km), Zaria-Birnin Koni (520km), Ega nyi-Otukpo (533km) and Ega nyi-Abuja. Other projects scheduled are the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri line (1,657km), Ogoja-Maiduguri, Kano-Gamboru Ngala, Kano-Jibia, and Ilela-Minna rail lines.
