I honestly find it hard to imagine that a country that invests so little in education will turn out to be great in the near future. Besides those in those terrible looking classrooms with pretty unlearned teachers, there are thousands hawking the streets especially here in the North. These uneducated ones will have to find a means of survival when they grow up and become independent. And you say you want to erradicate terrorism and corruption?? Worst of it, majority of such people are Islamists. Where are we heading to Nigeria?? We sincerely aren't addressing the most vital issues.

Bro, I served in the East and I will tell u that many SS students can't speak English either.
Meanwhile, don't mistake pidgin for English. Pidgin is predominantly spoken in the East and as far as I'm concerned, it is vernacular just the way Hausa language is.

Pidgin English or correct English, have got no problem with any of the two. All am after is 'talking to them easily without having to go beg for an interpreter.

Guy, i know you are trying to help but left for me i will advice you pull down your name and state code. Cos when the chips are down, NYSC may deny and blame you. This country is a joke

The use of a lower case letter for a possessive pronoun is a form of illiteracy bro. Literacy is not just about reading and writing, writing well is part of it.

Doesnt Indimi a northern from Borno and Dangote come from that region. Indimi has endowment in Lynn University in the U.S. Black people are wicked abeg. While your people cannot go to primary school youd be investing foreign currency in universities abroad.

Both languages are vernacular and u can't justifiably qualify the speaker of one as literate over the speaker of the other. U don't need to be in the classroom to understand pidgin. Same applies in the North, u don't have to be in the classroom to understand Hausa.

And this is what a very huge investment can produce.

I still salute these kids...

Reason being that they understand the conditions which they go through is unimportant as long as the objective is obtained.

We can wail all day long...the people who will embezzlement will embezzle....

But let's talk about education more... so maybe just maybe it would get better

Thank God the north are finally educating the girl child!
There had been education in the north as far back as pre and post colonial.Girl child even

Tell those ur illiterate brothers to stop punishing we southerners by sending us over to d north to teach their kids. Since d most important thing to dem is memorizing Koran, they shud leave western education alone or better still leave our graduates out of their miserable educational system

Yes , they memorized a complete book in their hearts , is the same applied to your 'holy book '? I know a lot of southern corpers that cannot defend their certificate because we know they bought it .

They come to the north and start forming

The standard is so poor, you see this kids still have the passion to get educated, that is they have a great potential if they are properly nurtured(educated). But what i notice in this country is that even the govt itself is after those with the money and not the value.Lots of money are spent on baseless projects that will not help the masses. The money we see in physical is a mere paper.Real money is a value we cannot see.I wonder when the govt will realise that.

Bro, Hausa is to the north what pidgin is to the south. The only language that cuts across is English and whatever obtains in the north in this English applies to the south. U don't need to be in the classroom to understand pidgin in the south and same applies to Hausa in the north.
